About Ella Dreskin

We love the water and especially this lake. We looked for years before buying a home on beach drive. The scenery from this side of the lake is quite breathtaking and tranquil.

Ella Dreskin purchased this cottage in 2010

Why Ella Dreskin chose Harwinton

No motor boats on the lake, just small electric engines, kayaks and sail boats. When the sun sets it creates a picture image of the trees and homes from across the lake on the lake surface.

What makes this cottage unique

Proximity to Mohegan Sun and Foxwood Casinos, Warner Theater, wine trail, antique shopping, hiking trails and close to Ski Sundown!

Guestbook comments from the owner

The house is beautiful. We caught 76 fish all sunfish except for a small bass. Everything was exactly as advertised, except for the annoying owl, but we were very happy overall. Thank you sooo much. We plan on coming back next year.

Perfect for a quiet getaway

  • 5 of 5

This house is so cute and very lovingly redone. The house looks much smaller in the pictures than it actually is--there was plenty of room for 4 adults and 2 dogs. We had a great time fishing, relaxing, and enjoying the beautiful lake front property (sunrises in the morning were gorgeous!) The kitchen and bathrooms were fully stocked with everything we could have needed. The pipes in the bathroom were a little loud, but I think that was just the circumstance of the location (did not bother us). Communication with Ella was prompt and very easy. Overall we had a wonderful weekend and would absolutely consider coming back. Thank you for letting us use your house!

Relaxing and comfortable!

  • 5 of 5

Hubby and I wanted to get away for a couple of days to just unwind and also wanted an opportunity to break in our brand new kayaks! The cottage was so comfortable, it had everything we needed. The only thing we had to bring was food. It was fun to live like the locals for a couple of days. We look forward to returning again and again.

Wonderful relaxing weekend at a peaceful lake!

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at this was perfectly appointed with everything you need! The fire pit by the lake was relaxing and bugs were never an issue. The location allowed us to do many things within a 5 mile radius! We went to tastings at 3 vineyards, sampled homemade chocolates at Milk House Farm, enjoyed brick oven pizza and 5 cent wine refills at Marzanos, saw a movie at the claims Bantam Theater and ate amazing ice cream at Peaches and Cream...highly recommend this home and it's location.

very quiet & cozy lake front getaway...

  • 5 of 5

This was our first experience with a Home Away listing so we were excited yet a little cautious leading up to our stay. 9/1 - 9/5 2016

Ella & Paul's place (home) was beautiful inside and out and better than advertized ! It was the perfect quiet vacation we needed... esp. after having to put our old Golden Sammy (who was very sick) down just prior to coming. Our 2 yr old pup Holly did come & loved the place, obeyed the rules and had a great time learning how to swim for the first time !! We had the place all to ourselves with no neighbors home for almost our entire stay. We used the kayaks everyday and the fire pit right on the lake as well - a very nice feature indeed !

The house was modern with lots of charm and renovated very nicely with a an ample kitchen and open great room for reading , games or TV.

All in all a VERY enjoyable first lake house rental that's run extremely well by Ella & Paul Dreskin.

Thanks for letting us enjoy your beautiful home and lake !

Doreen, Paul & Holly

Such a lovely, peaceful spot and a lovely home!

  • 5 of 5

The lake house was everything my husband and I needed. The location is fantastic and easy access. It is tucked away yet close to Litchfield and Torrington. What a great spot for a 3 day getaway, we were there during the week so it was very quiet. Would definitely rent there again.
