I'm a Colorado girl who married a Barbadian and am fortunate enough to get to live in beautiful Barbados. We own two beachfront properties on the south coast of the island and I represent other owners' places for rent as well, such as this stunning Rooftop Penthouse in the St Lawrence Beach Condominiums.
What's not to love? This gorgeous place offers sea views that rival any in all of the Caribbean. The apartment offers lots of privacy for up to six guests and the benefit of having a patio that wraps around 2 sides of the property can't be overstated - it's outdoor living high above the sea, with perfect privacy to enjoy your private seaside hot tub, BBQ grill, lounging in the sun, catching up on that great novel you've packed.
Walk to a dozen fantastic restaurants, two large beaches (Dover and Sandy beaches), talk to the friendly locals, enjoy our famous flying fish ... then a nice catamaran cruise, snorkeling with our elegant giant sea turtles. Or do nothing more than work on your suntan. You don't get to vacation often and Barbados offers whatever sort of holiday you want. Enjoy! And let me know how I can help you design the vacation that's right for you. Jane
The apartment was very nice but I would never stay there again because of the noise from the night club across the street. Very loud music blasting till 2:30 - 3:00 in the morning is a little too much. Had I known that in advance I would not have booked the apartment. The maids were very nice. Jerry the night doorman charged one of the cab drivers to come into the parking lot to discharge some guess who came to see us. Not very professional in my opinion. All in all we enjoyed our vacation but sadly I can not in good conscience recommend your building to anyone who may travel to Barbados in the future.
This is a wonderful condo! There is an excellent amount of space. The bedrooms are separated in a way that works well for couples sharing the condo. The views are breathtaking and the convenience (in St. Lawrence Gap) is hard to beat. We have stayed in this building multiple times and have always had a great experience. In addition to the condo being beautiful, the folks that help coordinate your reservations and take care of you during your stay are superb (Jane & Ricardo). If you are reading this review, stop reading and BOOK YOUR STAY NOW! You won't regret it.
The Penthouse at St Lawrence Beach Condos gave my family & I everything we were looking for - and more! The layout was perfect for a family with three teenagers - plenty of space indoors and a huge deck with hot tub outside! Plenty of bars and restaurants in walking distance (we had one on crutches) that served delicious food and cold drinks! Penthouse was well stocked with everything we needed and staff/management was very friendly & helpful. Would definitely stay here again!
This unit is spacious and by far the best condo that I have ever stayed in! As previous reviewers have expressed the photos does not capture all of the beauty the views. We opened up the unit to the rooftop deck every day to take in the sea breeze and star gaze. Sometimes,we ate out at local restaurants (that were literally steps away from the condo), cooked meals in the full kitchen or barbecued on the deck. Also, we enjoyed the hot tub and listed to the music from the clubs below and enjoyed virgin pina coladas.
We were had expected more people but were a family of 5 ages 8-67 years old and there was something to do on the island that interest each of us. I would like to thank Jane Shattuck and her staff ! Jane made our stay in Barbados truly a home away rom home. The crib sheet she gave us made our navigation through customs, what to pay for taxi fares, car rentals as well as the money exchange rate and touring the city a breeze.
We rented a car from Esses Car Rentals, the owner brought the car to the condo for us and he was extremely polite. We mainly used the car for touring the island which was cheaper than a guided tour. We also attended the Fish Fry at Oistins on Friday a "must" do on the island! The Bajans were eager to offer any assistance or explanations of their culture and things to do on the island. We caught some of the pre-Crop Over performances at Bridgetown that was suggested to us and it was amazing! Ricardo, at the condo was also very helpful in answering questions, attending to our needs in the unit and exchanging money for us.
We would definitely stay at the St. Lawrence Beach Condos again. Thanks again Jane.
This was my first time using Home Away and renting a condo and I was very pleased. Jane and her staff made everything from start to finish very easy and comforting. The space is in the middle of all the night spots on the gap with all restaurants and nightclubs. The pictures of the space does not give it enough justice, it has the most gorgeous view and comfy quality furniture. I go to Barbados every year and never have I seen a view more beautiful. The staff helped us with finding things around to do and gave us the best care. I couldn't imagine a better experience I will be booking this condo again when I come back because I know it would be hard for any other place to live up to this one in my whole 10 years of visiting Barbados.
We have just returned from a great family holiday - age range 28 to 63 - and we all had a ball.
This has to be about the best accommodation we have come across in Barbados in terms of value for money and sheer quality. We have holidayed in Barbados some 6 times in the last 10 years. As an architect I am used to seeing deficiencies which I find hard to fathom - but there were no such problems here. The accommodation could not have been better with so much inside and outside space, and even surpassed the images in the photos.
As we had previously stayed in St. Lawrence Gap - some 4 years ago - we were familiar with the local scene, restaurants etc. and, while some names have changed since then, the general buzz remains the same and so many amenities are within walking distance. I would recommend a car to anyone who does not know the island - there are so many things to see, from the stunning scenery of the East Coast around Bathsheba, to the sugar cane plantations such as St. Nicholas Abbey in the north and the secluded beaches in the south east around Cranes and Bottom Bay.
While the first class junior penthouse (our first week) overlooked the ocean, from the superb penthouse (our second week) there were virtually 270 deg. panoramic views both inland and out to sea, with very comfortable outside furniture to sit and savour the evening breeze and watch fabulous sunsets on most evenings.
Congratulations to Jane Shattuck, the rental agent, for making our holiday so memorable. Every little request was handled quickly and successfully, even to the extent of providing a barbeque, which had only been mentioned in passing. Thanks for everything, Jane.
Our family of 5 adults has two avid surfers and on a few of the days, when the sea conditions were just right, they were actually able to surf from the beach in front of the apartments - there are not may places you could do that! However on most days the sea was just perfect for snorkelling which suited my 60+ years. I should also mention that you can sometimes see turtles only 30 yards offshore, and there was one occasion when we were amazed to see a very large ( possibly humpback) whale blowing and then jumping fully out of the water perhaps a half mile off shore.
I think the foregoing says it all, but I would strongly recommend this property to anyone who enjoys those little extras in their accommodation and I just hope that my health will permit me to return next year.

The south coast of Barbados is known for its beautiful white beaches, the famous Oistins Fish Fry on Friday nights, and its friendly vibe where you'll find locals (called Bajans) and tourists alike.
The St. Lawrence Gap ("gap" means "street") is the area on the south coast that is a favorite destination for both locals and tourists. Lots of quaint small businesses, delicious restaurants, colorful shops, and more—all within walking distance of your condo. A car is not necessary; a taxi to and from the airport is likely all you’ll need.
We are experts on all things Barbados, so feel free to ask about the must-see places and activities to explore during your trip. I know your holiday time is limited—I will do everything I can to help you make the most of your stay on the Caribbean island that boasts the most repeat visitors, the island known as "The Jewel of the Caribbean."
