Two Epic Snow days at Sunday River

  • 5 of 5

Overall great place to stay, close to the Mt, warm and comfortable. Owners were well prepared despite two feet of new snow. A larger Pot for making pasta would have been helpful. Also the Hot Water Unit Heater in the garage is pretty loud when it cycles at night. This could be remedied by disabling the fan at night with a simple time clock or smart thermostat. You can keep the hot water flowing through the coil to prevent a freeze up, but simply disabling the fan until morning. The fan is what is making the noise. I am looking forward to returning for another ski trip.

Thank you.

Owner's Response: We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay. Should there being anything that would make your next stay more enjoyable, let us know (like a larger pot for pasta). The heater you heard is not the water heater but rather a supplemental heating source. It keeps the floors warm during the cold winter months. Thank you

Very clean, close to Sunday River and White Mountain National Park

  • 5 of 5

Great stay at this house! The owners were on the property while we were there and they were very friendly and accommodating. The house was extremely clean and had nice additional features for us to use such as Keurig cups and granola bars. We took our dog with us and she loved the location as there is plenty of room for her to run around. This location is also very convenient and close to Sunday River and the White Mountain National forest for plenty of fun winter activities. Will definitely use this house again and recommend to family and friends!

Cozy, comfortable weekend retreat

  • 4 of 5

I stayed in this house with two friends in January while in the area to ski at Sunday River. Catherine was very responsive every time I contacted her for something (which was not very often as the place was great!) We had two bottles of wine waiting for us upon arrival as well as some snacks that were definitely welcome after our long drive! The "Barn" is perfect for a weekend getaway with a couple friends or small family. One note of caution (and others may have mentioned this) the bedrooms are not "private" - and whoever sleeps in the loft is able to look directly down into the master bedroom if they want to.

Sunday River is only about a 20 minute (if that!) drive away and the town of Bethel is only about 10 minutes. We will definitely consider this place again when traveling to the area.

Fantastic place

  • 5 of 5

We had a great 5 day stay here. Very quiet peacefull setting yet close to everything. Owners are great hosts and know the area, gave us great suggestions for local hikes and local vegan dining. The gas fireplace and forest view out the floor to ceiling windows is very romantic. The home is well appointed and has everything you need for a great stay.

Comfort and Peace in the Country

  • 5 of 5

We had a really lovely stay at The Barn!

The property is close enough to the town of Bethel, but remote and peaceful in the gorgeous Maine countryside.

We could not have been more comfortable in the super clean, warm and well-appointed space. Our family of four; two adults, two teens and our dog, enjoyed the cozy, yet roomy space. The lofted ceiling and natural light from the many windows gave a spacious feeling to the interior. Everything from the furniture to the dishes to the appliances to the linens were crisply clean and well-functioning. The owners provided hospitable touches (snacks, Keurig cups, dog dishes, shampoos and soaps, etc.) which made us feel welcome. The private parking space and entrance gave a feeling of privacy with the comfort and convenience of having the owners close by. (The owners were away when we stayed, but there was no issue whatsoever with communication.)

We can easily recommend this place for anyone visiting the Bethel area and look forward to coming back, ourselves.

Thank you!
