About Denise and Dorene

Austin born sisters, Dorene and Denise have lived in Austin their entire lives. Our family and friends live here and we can not imagine living anywhere else! Austin is one of the hottest spots to visit in the nation. The combination of nature, live bands, and great food (Tex-Mex, barbeque, eclectic)...we just love Austin! We have owned and managed properties for 15 years and enjoy giving people a comfortable beautiful place to live and stay.

Denise and Dorene purchased this house in 2002

Why Denise and Dorene chose Austin

This property was handed down to us from our father. He had the foresight to buy the property in the 1960's and it is very special to us. Our entire family grew up and attended school in this area and many friends remain. We have loved seeing how this area has changed and grown over the years and we can quickly tell you where something 'used to be'.

We have remodeled the entire house and turned it into a South Austin gem. It is in the perfect location since it is conveniently located to downtown, restaurants, entertainment, nature walks, and shopping. Yet, you can still relax and get away from it all by sitting on the back deck with your favorite beverage.

What makes this house unique

The feeling in the house is one of being in a safe place and calmness. From the kitchen, bathroom and back deck you catch glimpses of the high rises of downtown. There is native landscaping and a large fenced in backyard with a three tiered awesome deck. There is also a little 'Hippie Room' just inside the carport. Located in a good location with speedy access to other areas in Austin via highways or major roads.

Perfect little home!

Perfect place to stay in Austin easy to get downtown and out of town. Fenced in backyard was perfect for dog. The deck was very nice place to hang out. Very quiet at night. Would definitely come back and stay here next time we come to Austin.

Great location, great house!

  • 5 of 5

This house is precious! We loved everything about it. We were regulars at Toss Pizza across the street, and late night visitors to Torchy's, right around the corner! We had 2 college athletes with us, and we never felt crowded. Back yard and Hippy Room are the bomb! It was just too hot to really enjoy them. Hope to come back in the fall!

We loved the the home. It was clean and comfortable and it was very nice to return to a home vs. a hotel room at the end of a long day. ❤️

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed our stay in this S Austin Gem. Great location just off 1st street; Two great restaurants next store Torchy's & Toss pizza & pub. We really enjoyed the pizza & wings at Toss, pretty good cocktails too. Cheap Uber ride to other great restaurants downtown. The house has a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and shower head. The backyard is an oasis where you can see some of downtown. Really cool hippie room in backyard too. I would definitely want to stay here again.

We stayed here during our daughter's visit to Austin. This was such a great location to show her the city from. Close to everything we wanted to see and do! Torchy's next door (literally there is a back gate entrance!) was a big bonus! Thanks Dorene and Denise for such a great stay!

Funky South Austin home with a "Hippie Room" in carport. Located in a well established neighborhood in a great location. The house is fully equipped, has refurbished wooden floors throughout with antique furnishings. A fully fitted kitchen and interior dining area look out over the tiered deck. Enjoy your meals inside or out. Views of downtown Austin from the back deck. Comfortable living area with sofa and chairs to watch the 42 inch flat screen TV or surf the internet with free WiFi. There are two bedrooms, each with a queen size bed, lamps and furniture. There is a queen size air mattress if needed for additional guests. Bathroom has a shower and tub to soothe your tired spirits. Parking for 2 cars in the driveway; bus stop is 1 block away. Don't miss out on Torchy's Tacos, a short stroll from your front door; great for those unique tacos to enjoy on your deck or venture down the street for some Tex-Mex dining in the evening.

Local mosaic artist, Stefanie Distefano, has bridge art displayed 1/4 mile from the house. Be sure to look 'under' the bridge to fully embrace her work.

Great local coffee shops and places to eat dotted all around. Food Trailers everywhere... try a different one each day.
