We've owned our place at the beach since 2004. Our condo is a ground floor efficiency unit facing the large pool. The ocean is directly across the street using the flashing light pedestrian crossing. The ocean is literally steps away right across the street! Even though we are sound side, we are at the narrowest part of the island so the beach is literally across the street instead of the usual 2-3 blocks away. Picture this: our place is on the sound side. You leave our place which is directly on the main street which runs down the middle of the island and you are walking on a crosswalk that is in between a country club and a house that are both directly ocean side. Our private walkway puts you right on the beach in a matter of a few steps.

We also own the unit next door...just steps away! This unit (VRBO #427563) is also ground floor-pool facing so if you need more space this offers the perfect solution. Both of our units each have a King Size bed plus one double size sleeper sofa.

Our condo is located at Bogue Shores Condominiums which is well known for its family friendly atmosphere. We are close to everything. While the unit is most comfortable for 2 adults, it is possible to sleep four (4) if you are a family of four (4) with 2 small children and your kids don't mind sleeping on the fold out sofa. If you picture a typical hotel room that has been converted into a condominium with the addition of a small kitchenette at one end then you'll get a good visual of our room. The fully stocked kitchenette and bathroom are both small but we've found to be fully functional for our small family.

We have a large adult pool and a separate kiddie pool (w/ new enclosure around baby pool to keep little ones safe). We have a boat ramp so if you'd like to bring your boat, just contact the property manager and pay the $20 fee which allows you to launch your boat and park on the property. You will not be permitted to leave your boat in one of the slips overnight as those spots are reserved for owners only. We also have a floating pier for easy jet ski docking. Finally, we have a sound side pier where we love to fish!

- Renters provide linens (bath/kitchen towels & King (bed) double (sleeper sofa) sheets)

- Renters must be 25 years of age (except dependent children)

- Renters agree to clean the unit prior to departure (cleaning products are provided)

- No dogs & No smoking (no exceptions)

- No more than 4 people in unit (preferably max of 2 adults plus 2 children). No exceptions.

About Cindy

We are a family of four living in Eastern, NC within 2 hours of the beach. Mom works at a Christian school and Dad works for a bank. We have 2 dogs, 1 cat and 2 very small frogs.

Why Cindy chose Atlantic Beach

We love the large grassy area on the sound. It is beautiful and peaceful. We love to grill out and play ball or frizbee on the large grassy area out back.

What makes this studio unique

We spend most of our time outdoors either at the pool or at the ocean. We love the fact that we can cook all of our meals in to save money for fun things to do out with our kids.

You won't get your security deposit!

Be sure to lose your security deposit! I did not bring any pets and I read the provisions regarding checkout closely and was out by 9:30AM. I cleaned the kitchen,bathroom, and living area very well. I bleached the heck out of the bathroom because it needed it and I wanted my security deposit back. The place was cleaner when I left than when I checked in. I did not bring any pets, but was told due to pets I brought I wouldn't get my deposit. My opinion is to go somewhere else that you don't have to brush your teeth while sitting on the toilet.

Owner's Response: I have been renting since 2010. In this time I have never kept a security deposit. This unit was checked for cleanliness the day this renter checked in and again the day she checked out. After this renter checked out my cleaning lady reported an intense urine smell from the rugs and that the unit had not been properly cleaned. There was an excess of hair, sand and food crumbs on the floor that my cleaning lady sent me pictures of. Since the smell was so bad from the carpets, we threw the carpets away and purchased new ones. I then paid for a thorough cleaning. When I sent an e-mail to the renter explaining that I assumed a pet had been brought in to the unit due to the extreme urine smell and that I could not refund the security deposit due to the additional cleaning and cost of rug replacement, the response I received denied having a pet and that she had cleaned thoroughly. Regardless of the conflicting story, I sent a professional/courteous reply saying that I hoped she understood that I had to investigate due to the report back but since she denied having a pet I would err on her side and would return the security deposit. Since she had denied the pet, maybe there was some other accident that happened while this renter was using the place which caused the intense urine smell in the rug which was eliminated after we disposed of the rug. Her immediate response was to submit a negative comment to VRBO even though my initial reply back to her stated I would return the security deposit and hoped she understood that I had to investigate. Her response was simply to say ..nevermind that we could keep the security deposit. I believe our track record shows that security deposits are not only returned but are returned promptly at 7 days after checkout. I do; however, expect my renters to clean as written in the agreement which helps keep our prices low. I do pay someone to check to ensure cleanliness for the next renter. If this is not done or there was an obvious abuse of the property I will investigate. In this case, there appeared to be an abuse of the property. Even though I had pictures of the unswept floor, and the negative report from my cleaning lady, I was willing to overlook this and assume something else unknown happened. After telling her that I'd give her the benefit of the doubt and would return the security deposit she told me to forget it and keep the deposit. Thank you. Blessings, Cindy

Everyone there was nice, the pool was great and it’s just walking distance to the beach. We will definitely be back. We had a great weekend.

Great location!

Was in town for a wedding in Beaufort. This location was perfect. The sound on one side and the beach across the street so to speak. The neighbors were all friendly and we talked to one neighbor just about every morning. There's a local tavern (Beach Tavern) down the street from the apartment that has good food, great waitresses and cold drink specials and pool tables. Nice place to hang out that's close to the apartment. I would definitely stay at this location again if I'm ever in the area again.

Just what the doctor ordered!

I needed a few days away to just relax and read and this unit was perfect. The room was exactly as described and it was great to sit in the swing on the property and look out at the sound. And, beach access was just a few steps away. I will definitely consider this property for future getaways. Oh, and the pool is just beautiful.

It was great only thing is the people that live in the breezeway kinda felt weird walking by them to hang out in the back but overall we weren't there a lot so we had a great time at the seafood festival
