Cute but getting run down

Pros: Home was cute and had plenty of room for 2. We loved the screened in porch. We actually turned the couch around to see ocean views out of the porch instead of facing the tv. Kitchen was well-stocked with utensils but no condiments, etc. sheets and towels were clean and plentiful. There was a/c in bedroom only but fans and sea breeze made it comfortable enough throughout. Hot water was a bonus. Management was great. Location was quiet, 2 very good restaurants in walking distance. Gated. Cons: property was getting run down and pool was literally falling apart, it was never cleaned or filled while we were there. Bed was a rock. Slept on couch. Shoreline was all turtle grass so difficult to get out to reef to swim or snorkel (they had a kayak available so get that if you want to snorkel right there). Absolutely no market or shops around so get what you need before you arrive or plan on getting cabs (I would not recommend renting a car, roads are all a mess and under construction and no parking anywhere).

Sandy Bay Slice of Heaven

Property was as represented online, clean, well kept and fairly well stocked in terms of applicances, cookware, etc. Location on Sandy Bay Beach is excellent, however there is a ball field located behind the property and the area can become quite busy on weekends when there are events at the ball field but they are during the daylight hours and usually ended by 6 pm. Pool was very nice on warm afternoons and while the pool is to be shared with two other properties we basically had the entire pool to ourselves the two weeks we were there in early March. A number of dive shops and restuarants located within easy walking distance just down the beach. If you're looking for night life this isn't the place, go to West End for that, as this area is very quiet after 9 pm. Its location is such that its close enough to either West End or West Bay that they can be easily accessed. We did not rent a car when there, we just walked up to the main road and caught a cab. Fares to West Bay or West End where usually $3-$5. All in all a very nice place to stay that I would recommend.

Sand Dollar is nice!

We enjoyed our stay at Sand Dollar in Sandy Bay. Good security, clean, well stocked, close to dive/snorkeling shops, and several nearby restaurants. Customer service was excellent. Highly recommend.

Beachfront gem

What a great hidden gem! Place was perfect, super clean, away from all the tourism but 7 minutes from west end. Great water pressure, ice cold ac in the bedroom. Walk 2 minutes down the beach to great restaurants and bars. They definitely need good lounge chairs and lights out by the pool though. Can't wait to go back!

Sand Dollar, Sandy Bay

It is a very cute little house in a nice location across from the beach. It is near West End and convenient to visit other parts of the island. Several restaurants and dive shops are a short walk down the beach. We didn't know where to park and our car almost got stuck parking in an adjacent street which flooded in a storm, but beyond that it was a nice and pleasant stay.
