Mark and Gail love the Loggerhead turtles and it is reflective in the home's decor. The home is light and bright with beautiful teal and green colors.

Prior to booking we will make sure you have an opportunity to read our Rental Agreement. Within our Rental Agreement, in addition to the Damage Insurance required to be purchased, you should also consider purchasing Vacation Insurance (http://vacationprotection.com) that would reimburse you for trip interruption or if the property was uninhabitable due to mandatory evacuations and other covered items. We encourage you to purchase this insurance.

We allow most pets. When requesting booking please let us know how many pets and what kind. We do have a basic kennel 36" to accommodate dogs up to 70 lbs available for your use.

Located on the west end of the island and a short 1 mile drive/walk to the Beach. This is a great walking/dog beach extending to the point and the inlet. The home is a short 1 block walk to the intra-coastal. This single level cottage has 3 bedrooms. Master has a king bed, Bedroom 2 has a queen, Bedroom 3 has 2 twin beds. Outside patio furniture for entertaining. All bed, bath and kitchen linens are provided. Kitchen appliances (range/oven, microwave, toaster, blender, refrigerator with ice maker, coffee maker), washer/dryer, wireless internet, Direct TV, Roku for streaming and DVD, beach chairs, umbrella, gas grill, beach toys and more are provided for your use (bring your own coolers).

A native of Wilmington, NC, Gail has always longed to return to the beaches. Her 2013 visit to Oak Island reminded her of the beach days of the past and she had to own here. Gail and Mark are now permanent residents of Oak Island. Like the Loggerhead turtles, she returned to her place of origin, North Carolina.

Great house, great location, awesome service from owners

This is a very tidy and well appointed house. We have VRBO'd up and down the outer banks and this has by far been the best equipped house and several very nice and useful perks. Everything they advertised was as promised. I usually cook most of the time even on vacation, the kitchen had everything I needed and no cooking "challenges" were expereinced. The linens were of very good quality, even provided beach towels. The bed was a very nice firm bed, neither my husband or I had a backache all week. Several options for movie watching available and all devices worked. The owners are very conscientious, provided operational instructions for all devices, remotes were labeled, light and fan switches labeled. Welcome book complete and helpful.

The backyard is fully fenced in with stockade style and height fencing. The gate is the only part that is about 3-4 feet high but we were able to block it sufficiently to keep our younger dog from being able to jump over.

There is only one rental we have been to previously that I would go back to, now I have to say that I would definitely choose this rental over all of the ones we have stayed at previously. This was a great rental and we hope to be welcomed back.

A Great Stay in Oak Island!

We had a great stay at this property in Oak Island - it exceeded our expectations. This cute home is stocked with everything you could possibly need. It is very tastefully decorated and we felt like we were staying at the home of a good friend. I love that owner uses all organic/non-toxic products. And it's pet friendly! We enjoyed taking morning walks through the neighborhood with our dog on the beach and along the sound side. Can't say enough good things about our stay - we LOVED IT! Gail was a terrific host and always answered our questions promptly. We accidently left our dog's favorite ball at the house and Gail mailed it out the next day!

Perfect size house, very clean, and well equipped.

A cute little beach cottage on a quiet residential road with a private fenced in yard. Really perfect for folks visiting with a dog. Very affordable as well, given all the amenities offered. Friendly owner nearby and available if needed. We would rent again if back in area.

Lovely!

Despite the poor weather over our two week vacation, we were very pleased with Loggerhead Cottage. Very tastefully decorated, even for Christmas, and very clean and comfortable. We are building our home on the same street and had been wanting to stay at this home for quite some time. Perfect fenced yard for our doggies. Owners are nearby and great communication. They go above and beyond to make sure you have a wonderful stay in a clean, comfortable home. If there any openings prior to the completion of our house, we will stay again!

Parking is plentiful with beach accesses at the end of almost every street. Bike from our cottage to the ocean or walk 1500 steps to the waterway.
