Mark and Gail love the Loggerhead turtles and it is reflective in the home's decor. The home is light and bright with beautiful teal and green colors.

We allow most pets. When requesting booking please let us know how many pets and what kind.

Located on the west end of the island and a short 1 mile drive/walk to the Beach. This is a great walking/dog beach extending to the point and the inlet. The home is a short 1 block walk to the intra-coastal. This single level cottage has 3 bedrooms. Master has a king bed, Bedroom 2 has a queen, Bedroom 3 has 2 twin beds. Outside patio furniture for entertaining. All bed, bath and kitchen linens are provided. Kitchen appliances (range/oven, microwave, toaster, blender, refrigerator with ice maker, coffee maker), washer/dryer, wireless internet, Time Warner Cable TV, Roku for streaming and DVD, beach chairs, umbrella, gas grill, beach toys and more are provided for your use (bring your own coolers).

About Gail Johnson

A native of Wilmington, NC, Gail has always longed to return to the beaches. Her 2013 visit to Oak Island reminded her of the beach days of the past and she had to own here. Gail and Mark are now permanent residents of Oak Island. Gail brought 21 years of AZ real estate experience to the island and now works for RE/MAX at the Beach. She understands the value of providing the level of service that has made her business a success. Like the Loggerhead turtles, she returned to her place of origin, North Carolina.

Wonderful Home!

The home was great. Just as pictured. Great enclosed back yard for our fur baby. Our weekend was great. Weather was wonderful. Kitchen has everything needed for your cooking wishes. Would recommend this home. We hope to return to the Loggerhead Cottage in the future. It was great meeting Gail and being able to put name and face together. Thanks again for sharing your wonderful home.

Very nice, clean and homelike.

We had a great time at Loggerhead Cottage. We had everything that we needed in a stocked kitchen. We weren't too far from the beach and had a back yard for the kids too!

Loggerhead is a beautifully decorated and maintained cottage that is conveniently located to all the restaurants and stores that we needed. My husband is a fisherman and was happy that the intercoastal waterway and the ocean were within minutes. The owner, Gail was so cordial and pleasant to talk with and we look forward to returning.

Good place with a great backyard for dogs!

We had a great time staying at this beach rental. The backyard was the best part for our two active dogs.

The house was as described on the website so no unpleasant surprises. The beach was very close and quiet this time of year. Gail was pleasant, responsive and accommodating. We would definitely recommend this place.

Oak Island is a wooded island extending east/west about 10 miles and less than 1 mile north/south. Beautiful white sand beaches that you will have all to yourself October-May. Parking is plentiful with beach accesses at the end of almost every street. Bike from our cottage to the ocean or walk 1500 steps to the waterway.
