Mark and Gail love the Loggerhead turtles and it is reflective in the home's decor. The home is light and bright with beautiful teal and green colors.

Prior to booking we will make sure you have an opportunity to read our Rental Agreement. Within our Rental Agreement, in addition to the Damage Insurance required to be purchased, you can also purchase Vacation Insurance (http://vacationprotection.com) that would reimburse you for trip interruption or if the property was uninhabitable due to mandatory evacuations and/or damages. We encourage you to purchase this insurance.

We allow most pets. When requesting booking please let us know how many pets and what kind.

Located on the west end of the island and a short 1 mile drive/walk to the Beach. This is a great walking/dog beach extending to the point and the inlet. The home is a short 1 block walk to the intra-coastal. This single level cottage has 3 bedrooms. Master has a king bed, Bedroom 2 has a queen, Bedroom 3 has 2 twin beds. Outside patio furniture for entertaining. All bed, bath and kitchen linens are provided. Kitchen appliances (range/oven, microwave, toaster, blender, refrigerator with ice maker, coffee maker), washer/dryer, wireless internet, Time Warner Cable TV, Roku for streaming and DVD, beach chairs, umbrella, gas grill, beach toys and more are provided for your use (bring your own coolers).

A native of Wilmington, NC, Gail has always longed to return to the beaches. Her 2013 visit to Oak Island reminded her of the beach days of the past and she had to own here. Gail and Mark are now permanent residents of Oak Island. Like the Loggerhead turtles, she returned to her place of origin, North Carolina.

Oak Island is a wooded island extending east/west about 10 miles and less than 1 mile north/south. Beautiful white sand beaches that you will have all to yourself October-May. Parking is plentiful with beach accesses at the end of almost every street. Bike from our cottage to the ocean or walk 1500 steps to the waterway.

Clean, cute house perfect for stay with dogs or kids

We were very impressed with our stay at Loggerhead Cottage. The owner was extremely nice and available to help with any questions. The house was very clean, cute and had all the amenities we could need. The fenced-in backyard made this the perfect rental for a stay with our little dog. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely rent here again.

Loggerhead Cottage is like finding your home at the beach

We spent 10 nights of rest and relaxation at Loggerhead Cottage on Oak Island. If you love an amazing beach and all the comforts of home, this is the place for you. The king bed was so comfy and the kitchen was stocked with everything you could possibly need. This home is in a quiet neighborhood just a few minutes drive from the beach. There's a new Lowes food store close by.

Great stay!

The house was perfect for us! Very clean and had everything we needed (literally)! The house is located 3-5 minute drive to the beach. The beds were even comfortable which is rare in a lot of vacation homes. The owner allows simple communication and very helpful with arriving and departure.

August get away

This was our second stay at Loggerhead Cottage and found it to be as clean and well organized as our first. Gail and her hose keeper Linda do a wonderful job of keeping this house in great shape. We will definitely stay here again when visiting the Wilmington/Southport areas, close to some wonderful beaches and numerous great places to visit with the gran-children.
