EXCLUSIVE FAMILY COMPOUND LAKE HOUSE & CABINS ON PRISTINE VERY PRIVATE 100 ACRES

63 Christina's Way/Mazella Lane!

The hand painted sign saying Well Fed Farm will cue you to the turn onto Christina's Way/Mazella Lane. You will then see the sweet white shingled garden shed. As you drive slowly down the winding half mile path that will enfold and welcome you, we imagine you will anticipate the house and environs you have chosen for your family vacation, reunion, celebration, wedding or romantic week for two. The compound is a secluded respite from the world and you do not need to leave "Camp" other than for supplies. ( **in our welcome book we provide new information for all our amazing restaurants and farm providing Curb Side Pick up for this 2023/4 season, and our caretaker can stock the house for you and we accept deliveries of supplies for 2023/4 to help our guests arrive and be able to be at home right away and not leave if you don't want to!") Within few steps you will be able to swim, boat, sail, kayak, paddle board, lounge, read, hammock, campfires, playset, games, fish, meditate, yoga and more - we have also implemented hospital grade sterilization of all items in our home).
Built in 2007 our luxurious lakeside camp consists of a magnificent hand made adirondack style cedar shingle home and two cozy cabins. Privacy for all. You will enter the main house onto an 1,200sq/ft screened in porch with an outdoor stone fire place, pingpong, handcrafted pine harvest table that seats fourteen. French doors afford access into every room and can be left open to feel the Maine breezes. The great room in the center of the house boasts a magnificent indoor stone fireplace, multiple couches and handcrafted game table. For the chef in you the large chef’s kitchen fully appointed with huge 60" Wolf griddle top to make loads of pancakes, a double oven for baking and it is brand new 2017! , We have just added a new 42" new Sub Zero refrigerator for all your beautiful Maine produce! An original Monson slate farm troth sink will bring smiles as you and your family or friends create meals overlooking the lake and listening to the loons. Behind the kitchen is our Herb Garden and a grassy lawn for the children to run around on. Each bedroom has it’s own private bath each decorated in a different style. Each bedroom and cabin has a private screened porch with lake views. The furniture throughout the house was handmade by local carpenters and artisans.

The Bunk House Cabin and Loft Cabin each consist of their own screened in porch, propane gas fireplace, kitchenette, sitting area, full bath and views of the lake. The Loft House Cabin has a Queen Bedroom and Loft upstairs with twin beds. The Love Bunk House Cabin has a Queen Bedroom (magnificent views of the lake) and a Bunk Bedded room with X large Bunk beds).

The property sits on 100 private wooded acres and 3,000 ft of water frontage, ripe for exploring. The lake has only five families and much of the time you will have the lake to yourself...it is rare and magical. Sunsets and breezes and quiet...The grounds boast hidden hammocks to swing on and sway in the waterfront breezes and read. There is a large outdoor stone fire grill for barbecues and picnic tables. The waterfront has a large dock, lounge chairs, 4 kayaks, a canoe, two paddle boards (new!) and a row boat/little sail boat. Perfect for swimming, boating, or fishing!

You can walk or run the 6 mile loop in the morning before jumping into the pristine water that has no motor boats and swim to your hearts content.

The property is mostly solar powered and we ask renters to be mindful of conservation.

It can comfortably sleep 14 (perfect for a family reunion) while promising everyone privacy and yet is also cozy enough for an individual couple’s retreat.

If you ever want to leave the camp you can be in Camden or Belfast in under 15 minutes and enjoy the natural beauty of the Maine Coast or the wonderful shops, farm market, sailing and restaurants along Route 1.

We built this camp as our family’s sanctuary, but we do like to share it on a limited basis with people who would also respect and appreciate it.

**In the winter months between Nov 1 - Ap 15th the cabins close and the main house only is available and it sleeps 6-8 - the weekly is less - inquiry is suggested.

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE
I booked this for my 40th birthday celebration, there were 11 of us and it felt like adult summer camp! The house and cabins are straight out of a magazine. There are about a million small touches everywhere that make it all feel super cozy and it's immaculately clean. The property is amazing - super private and very quiet. The lake is stunning. The stars are unbelievable. Even though we were a large group we never felt cramped - there is plenty of space for everyone to be together or to wander off on their own for their own adventures. We kayaked every day, sat around the fire, laughed and played games. As if all of that wasn't enough - the host and caretakers were phenomenal. Christina, Mindy and Jenny made planning this group event so easy for me - they were super responsive, provided a ton of recommendations, and were very flexible and easy going. I sincerely appreciated all of their hard work - it truly added to how special this trip was. If you are looking for an incredible property for a Maine vacation, just stop now and reserve this today, you won't regret it!

Lovely in every way..
Our group of friends had an amazing long weekend in Searsmont. Christina was a very responsive and kind host, she truly wanted us to have a memorable experience. The lake is peaceful, and full of watercraft for everyone to enjoy. The house had so many amenities, and was beautifully decorated. The screened porch was so inviting and comfy, a great place to hang out or sip your coffee in the morning. Overall, it was an easy, fun and restful stay. Highly recommend!

About the host

I am a chef and designer. I have two children and four brand new grand babies! I tend to my farm, and am dedicated to issues of Global Security, the environment and protection of children and animals. My friends and family are the world to me. This is our third season renting our home and we have met the most beautiful wonderful families from around the world who come and celebrate milestone events and have family reunions...and it is my absolute joy to have our home available for these milestone celebrations...if my walls could talk they'd be very happy! I rent my home now because I spend more and more time watching my grand babies grow which they keep doing...but they don't not live in Maine...it's been an extraordinary experience to meet through VRBO and Home Away the most wonderful people who want a shared Maine experience and we find ourselves all very likeminded. Many of our vacationers now come back year after year leaving behind some goodies like Ice Cream makers for the following year :) I love design and developing properties with an eye to sustainability and being tender with the earth. I love to create recipes from the vegetables in the garden and you'll find me parousing the Green Markets in Camden and Belfast and the Co op in Belfast for local goodies to cook. I love doing Yoga at ..mostly I love playing the guitar and singing silly songs with my grand children. I have traveled the world for work and such and I find no more beautiful place on earth than this home on this lake...I hope you will feel the same...most of our vacationing families feel exactly the same.

Why they chose this property

There is a magical story behind my acquisition of the land the house is built on. Let's just say that childhood dreams come true if you never let the dream go. My grand babies now ask about when they'll be in Maine again and we dream about picking vegetables and swimming in the lake all year long! We have created extraordinary memories here, weddings and births...in the early mornings I often awake now with a baby and slip down to the lake (about 30 steps) and sit quietly with my coffee and watch the sunrise and listen for the loons. As the family awakes, the smell of coffee and bacon, frying pancakes fill the air along with the sounds of giggles and family chatter. This all warms my heart. I built this home for such moments, while fleeting they are the deepest memories. Sometimes now I see my son in law coming in on a kayak earlier than I'd expect with one of his kids they'd be out watching the mist lift and looking for an eagle...the kayak slicing through the water with one of the toddlers sitting happily the mist pulling up. What more can I tell you except that I've tried to recreate paradise where there is joy for every age and every level of adventure or no adventure just napping and reading and shopping in town. I have curated the home and cabins, the garden and waterfront to be private and social at the same time. You should want for nothing but your toothbrushes! If you need anything at all in advance of your booking and after your reserve, we are here to accommodate you from booking Lobster Clam Bakes at the waterfront to massages and sailing trips to babysitting...

What makes this property unique

The lake has never had a motor boat on it, it's pristine and so tranquil and quiet, swimming from end to end, kayaking at sunrise or sunset, paddle boarding, fishing the bass, it is unusual because it's so private and secluded, it feels like time stands still here. A half mile private driveway, large vegetable and herb gardens to pick from. Private spaces and communal spaces so that everyone can enjoy their vacation in their own way. Yoga set up for four people. And now a new playset with swings and a slide and clubhouse. My favorite things are the paddle boards.
