About Wojcik

Susan and Bob Wojcik have owned and operated Oak Cove Resort in Lawrence Mi for over 40 years. They happily have added this 1890 farm home and coach house to their other unique set of travel accommodations. The Wojciks have hosted guests from all over the world and every state in the U.S.

Wojcik purchased this farmhouse in 2011

Why Wojcik chose Southwest Michigan

This property was purchased in 2011 from a family who had used it as a Bed and Breakfast several decades ago. We used to send them our resort overflow. It has delightful historic turn of the century character. We have lovingly restored it to its former beauty.

What makes this farmhouse unique

What made us fall in love with this house is its farm style grandeur. It is a Painted Lady of turquoise with white trim. The landscaping is lush and lovely. It is beautiful in the the snow. The views from every window - panoramic. The land is fascinating to explore: a barn in the back, a chicken coop with lace curtains but curiously, no chickens, the Coach House, garages, storage sheds and a deer blind all invite inspection.

Wonderful for a family reunion

  • 5 of 5

We have family all over the world, and we gathered at Oak Cove for a reunion from South Africa, Canada and Illinois. We raged in age from two to forty-something, and everybody had a great time. Thank you so much for the warm hospitality, delicious food and lazy days lounging on the beach!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your generous assessment of your vacation with us. We really appreciate when someone takes the time to review and future guests appreciate knowing they can count on the words of a guest as the truth. We enjoyed having you. It was fun getting to know so many in one family who came from other lands to gather here to enjoy one another.

Wonderful experience

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house for the weekend of our wedding. We had the rehearsal dinner there and the girls got ready there the morning of the wedding. It was a great spot for both. We were able to get a lot of great pictures in the house and in the surrounding area. We would definitely recommend staying here to anyone who is looking for a relaxed, throw back type experience.

Great place for familys or large groups

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful time we all had. Lots of lawn, mowed paths through the woods, fish pond, great camp fire space, and a wonderful home. Everyone enjoyed it, especially the grandsons from Chicago, they could run all over outside playing lawn games, do s'mores and see thousands of stars at night. They loved it. The Lake was close by and the owners were so friendly, they treated us like family. Thank you all for a special time.

Charming, delightful, and nostalgic!

  • 5 of 5

We (four-person group of women relatives and friends) enjoyed Yesteryear for a week during which there was a ferocious storm as well as the most gorgeous weather imaginable. We loved the spacious and well-appointed house, watching the storm from the cozy front room, walking along the nearby roads and through the vineyard, sitting by the Koi- and frog-filled pond. Many thanks for the lovely experience to Susan and Bob!

We loved our stay at yesteryear. The house and grounds are beautiful - the only thing we could have asked for is more time. Susan is lovely and very accommodating - Thank You!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your very kind words and the thoughts you left in our guest book. We also often wonder what it would have been like to live in that home in 1890. It feels right. We are so glad you enjoyed your visit.

time to chill

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the coach house portion of the property. Basically an apartment over the garage with all the amenities..fully furnished. The only thing missing was a microwave in the kitchen. I had to boil water on the stove top for my tea...old school style....which wasn't any hardship, but just different for me. The unit was exceptionally clean and in great condition! A completely wonderful experience! With the lake just a minute away, there is many things to do and also plenty of quiet spots to sit and enjoy the peace and solitude. I would definitely stay again!
