Wonderful in every way!!

  • 5 of 5

The hospitality that Valerie and Brad showed our family was second to none. The time spent with all of the animals (horses, alpacas, dogs, chickens) are memories that our family will cherish always. My daughters only wished we lived closer so that they could ask for a summer job taking care of the animals. We loved grilling dinner, sitting around the fire, and toasting marshmallows and making smores. The suggestions that Valerie provided us each day for what we wanted to do was also spot on. Great recommendations for food/activities. Valerie and Brad offer a very unique experience sharing their love of the surrounding area, their property, and of course their animals which are absolutely members of their family. Thank you again for your friendship and for a wonderful stay. My family and I can't wait to return!

Very Relaxing and Unique

  • 5 of 5

Came here while on a short vacation to Shenandoah and wish we could have stayed for longer. Valerie introduced us to all the animals when we arrived and our two kids loved playing with the chickens and feeding the horses. We really enjoyed relaxing with the alpacas as the sun set and letting go of city life.

Southern Hospitality tucked in Shenandoah

  • 5 of 5

Valerie and Brad are two of the hardest working people I've ever met! They went out of their way to make sure we had a great time. S'mores makings, fire pit and grill ready to go, and treats for the animals were just a few of the extras they provided. They taught us all about the animals- where they all came from, how to care for them, and some of their favorite things. Valerie showed my son (6 yrs old) how to collect the chicken eggs and let him help feed the animals. Wilbur is the friendliest cat and a welcome companion looking for attention. Beautiful sunsets grace this property as well.

A quick drive gets you to Harrisonburg and the local attractions. We did the Children's Museum, the Rte 11 potato chip factory, and Luray Caverns. So many great things so close. Next time we'll have to stay longer.

Thank you for such a great vacation. We were so glad to meet your granddaughter. She was so nice and full of fun information about your farm. We look forward to visiting again soon!

Comfortable B&B and wonderful farm experience

  • 5 of 5

My husband, 2 kids and I really enjoyed our stay at Jim and Jacqueline's organic farm. We loved learning about their farm practices and heritage animals, and getting to help out some with the feedings. Our son especially loved the piglets! The accommodations were comfortable and thoughtful, and the country breakfast was delicious! They make their own jam from home grown berries, and it was so good we bought 6 jars! We would love to go back when the crop-growing is in full-swing and learn more about that side of it!!! Just really fun being there (it's beautiful) and learning about all they do!!!

Charming, cozy, romantic, rustic

  • 5 of 5

A gem tucked away about 30 minutes from Massanutten. It was warm and rustic with everything we needed for a night away. There isn’t much close by, so glad we had snacks and enough to make a delicious breakfast with fresh farm eggs.

Quiet, comfortable getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I chose Gabe's Getaway literally at the last minute. We were suppose to be on vacation in the Outer Banks, but a storm prevented us from getting there. We quickly went on vrbo and looked for another place that was available immediately, and Gabe's Getaway was available. We were not disappointed! It was a wonderful quiet relaxing few days that we spent there. The apartment is above the beautiful barn. It was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for a few days away in the beautiful Shenandoah Mountains. We loved the animals outside our windows, especially the funny alpacas. We would definitely come to stay again and would recommend this place to our friends and family.
