|Minimum Stay||7 nights|
Nestled in the trees in a beautiful & private natural woodland setting, this contemporary features exceptional comforts, in a lovingly cared for home.
A winding path leads you to a boardwalk entrance. Once inside, and a few steps down the hall, the house opens up to windows and immediate green. Each window frames a different view of the woods. Nature abounds and watching wildlife is such a wonderful way to relax, and learn. A favorite animal life book series 'Old Mother West Wind' by Thornton Burgess, was written on the Cape about Cape Cod wildlife.
A cozy living room with leather recliners, glider/rocker chair and love-seat make up the interior living room. Settle in for the evening to view your favorite show or movie on the flat screen TV or create a cozy atmosphere on a chilly night by lighting the remote controlled gas fireplace.
The 'sunporch' room has an intimate sitting area...perfect for a quiet cup of coffee while you wake up slowly to the sounds of the morning birds...or catch the late afternoon colors as the sun moves overhead ... rays filtering through the leaves. The natural oak harvest dining table has seen years of romantic dinners for two, and happy family gatherings. A very well equipped kitchen with 5 burner glass top stove, 2 full sized ovens, french door refrigerator, microwave and 2x coffeepots...a Cuisinart grinder/brewer and a single brew 'K' cup for instant caffeine enjoyment. All the pots, pans, kettles, dishes, glassware...to make your stay fun, refined if you choose, and complete.
The first floor of the house also features a bedroom with 2 large closets and a queen bed. The mattress is a dual control Sleep Number Bed, and there is truly no better night's sleep available than that.
The bath, directly across from the bedroom, has an unusual japanese shower/soaking tub combo. Shower off and step directly into the deep tub.
Light the candles and feel totally pampered and relaxed.
Sanitized cotton linens, & bath towels are included with this rental in addition to beach towels.
Up the circular stairs...to the loft suite, the second floor offers a bedroom with a double bed and, a private bath ensuite with an antique claw & ball foot soaking tub, and stall shower. The adjacent loft features a guest pullout couch, and a quiet reading nook among the treetops and a flatscreen TV.
When you arrive...your beds will have been made up for you...a special treat for weary road travelers. Fresh towels await in the bathrooms.
Our goal with this property is to offer you a true vacation by including sheets, (beds made), towels, TP, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, dish/washer detergent...
A vacation should be a vacation not a moving marathon from your home to ours.
Take the circular stairs down from the first floor and find the washer & dryer, and an additional backup refrigerator/freezer.
Outdoors on the deck you will find a gas grill, a patio table and 6 chairs for dining al fresco, and a fire pit overlooking the woods and marsh. You will be surrounded by our favorite...hydrangea bushes.
An outdoor shed is located near the car park with room to store bicycles and beach gear. Inside you will find the beach chairs and umbrella.
Bird feeders will be filled to attract the many colorful and fascinating birds. A pot of herbs is by the door to inspire culinary creativity.

Nothing describes THE TRANQUILITY EXPERIENCE as well as our former guests have, and we thank them all!!!
Paul & I have been married nearly 30 years, and we have raised our family on the Cape. We have always enjoyed road trips and find that our trips/experiences always seem to revolve around water. We have rented many different homes in our travels and believe this to be the most convenient and comfortable way to travel and enjoy a new area. We have learned a lot about what is important in a rental home to be comfortable, and we know that you will appreciate and benefit greatly from our experiences.
Peace...quiet...privacy...so hard to find these days...and so special when you do, and even better when you find it in a vacation property. Enjoy an early morning cup of coffee on the deck and watch 'nature' go about her business. Return after a busy day of just being on vacation, and relax in the peace and coolness of the woods. Cocktails and dinner watching the sun disappear behind the trees? Walk around the corner to Arnold's for a game of Miniature Golf and an ice cream. Be lulled to sleep at night by the gentle sounds of Peepers, & Bullfrogs.
The Cape is such a very special place to be. Surrounded by nature, & water, makes for a very healthy environment. As much as I love to travel, (and as a former travel agent I have travelled the world), I am always thrilled to be back home. I don't think I could live anywhere else and be so completely happy with my surroundings.
A special home that blends perfectly in the woods...we just love it here and are looking forward to sharing it with others whom we feel, would love this as well. An ideal romantic getaway, cozy, with lots of little nooks for reading and sipping.
Windows on the woods everywhere, with the views, not hidden by drapes. Neighbors are not within sight.
Our outdoor shower is always a highlight each summer. There is nothing like showering under a canopy of beautiful leaves.
Cotton sheets, bath and beach towels included in the price.
We want you to arrive and immediately have that 'I'm on vacation feel!' The home will be well stocked with local information to assist you with planning for your vacation. Be active or not. The choice, delightfully, is yours.
Words can not be said enough about Tranquility. Nancy and Paul made you feel like it was your own home. They were so helpful before we arrived with directions and what to expect when you arrive. Their welcoming basket was a delight when we arrived. Perfect for a sunset on the beach at the Cape. So many great restaurants close by. If you love donuts and pastries, Hole in One is your place. The Fairways Restaurant is so welcoming and food is so fresh and cooked to your liking. Crab Cake Benedict is a must. Oops, sorry for leaving the review for Tranquility. If you are there for relaxing, this is your place. Quite and surrounded by trees and all the feathered friends that come to the feeders. Close to beaches and historical cemeteries. Cove Burying Ground is a must stop. 3 Mayflower passengers are buried there. The headstones are still in good shape for how old they are. Some have been replaced. Nancy and Paul have outdone themselves for making you feel at home. Tranquility is right in the middle of the Cape so you are close to so many attractions and ferries if needed. I will be telling all my friends about this lovely home so if they ever come to the Cape, this is the place to stay. No, it is not on the beach, so your outside activities are calm and pleasant. On the beach front, the wind is blowing and sitting outside can be cold and windy. Thanks again Nancy and Paul for a delightful stay. You hospitality makes us want to come back and explore more. Thanks again.

Great house, tucked away in the woods. We spent every morning watching the birds outside the kitchen window. Central location, the house is lovely, very convenient, everything you could need is there. Loved the fireplace! Thanks for the welcome basket. We had a great time.
Everything one would need was provided. Quiet, lovely location - we had a hard time tearing ourselves away from watching the birds that thronged the bird-feeders (and other wild life - chipmunks....). Easily accessible Cape beaches and ponds offer endless variety of seascape, swimming and walking. Nancy responded gracefully to too many questions. We had a wonderful stay.
Tranquility is GORGEOUS! It is nestled in the woods close to the Salt Pond Visitor Center. When we first arrived, we were in awe! The back of the house, is one big sunroom with windows all around! A spiral staircase leads to the upstairs loft with private sitting area and the 2nd bedroom and bathroom. The house is well equipped with everything you could possibly need on your vacation! My grandaughter loved watching all the birds and squirrels around the feeders outside . After spending the day at the beach or sightseeing around the Cape, we looked forward to coming "home" to Tranquility to relax...and thought how wonderful it was to find this place! 2 weeks just wasn't enough! Thank you Paul and Nancy for opening your home to us! Brenda, Tom and Alexis

This property completely blew us away. It is everything as described and more. A lovely setting, well stocked with creature comforts, and all necessities provided. The owners have thought of pretty much everything one needs and not having to bring linens is a rare pleasure. We loved our 2 week stay and hope to come again. We highly recommend "Tranquility" !
Located within an easy bike ride to Coast Guard Beach (voted one of the top ten beaches in the world), Nauset Light Ocean Beach, Bayside Beaches and fresh water ponds. 'Tranquility' is an ideal vacation home from which to enjoy your Cape Cod vacation.
'Tranquility' is centrally located within 1.5 miles of the ocean and the bay. Bring your inflatable rafts to the Bayside for lazy day drifting as the tide comes in, and your boogie and surf boards for a more wave action at the ocean. Eastham offers the very best of both worlds for salt water and fresh water swimming & sunning, and 'Tranquility' is located right in the heart of it. The Cape Cod Rail Trail bike path is less than 1/4 mile around the corner
Great restaurants are everywhere on the Cape. The closest being Arnold's well known for it's seafood, ice cream and miniature golf. An easy walk right from the house.
Within minutes you can enjoy restaurants, cinemas, classic 'drive-in' movies & miniature golf. Visit Wellfleet for their art galleries, fishing pier, and Main Street strolling. Truro for the winery and a visit to Atlantic Spice Shop. Provincetown for her quaint and quirky shops, eclectic surroundings and of course the 'must do' whale watching boat trip and if really ambitious climb to the top of the Provincetown Monument for glorious views of the town and Cape Cod Bay. Visit Orleans for fine dining, or bring your lawn blanket, and watch the very best college, major league hopefuls, play baseball in the Summer League. Charming Chatham has the best shopping/walking street on the Cape. Brewster straddles Rte 6A, and is best known for antiquing and Captain's homes. Each Cape town offers something special. Most first timers to visit are amazed at the size and scope of all that makes up Cape Cod.
Seafood is truly a gift from the sea, gloriously abundant, and should be enjoyed at the many restaurants or purchased fresh for your own culinary creation. Pack lots of picnics, build an evening bonfire on the beach (get a permit), toast marshmallows and listen to the waves rolling in. Ride the wonderful bike trail and at the end, park your bike and enjoy an authentic french pastry and coffee at the Boulangeri (a wonderful incentive to make the trip)!
Get lost in a bookstore, find yourself alone at the beach simply by walking away from the crowds... the ocean beaches extend for miles, but most people stop a few yards from the entrance :)
Gather shells and get crafty, rent a kayak and explore the marshes.
Hike the miles and miles of trails in the National Seashore Park, state & local reserves and the Audubon Society. Discover Pilgrim Springs where the Pilgrim's first tasted fresh water after their Atlantic crossing...they landed on Cape Cod first! Visit First Encounter beach where the Pilgrims and Native Americans had their 'first encounter'. Then come back to Cape Cod tranquility and disappear into her serene comfort, sheltered from the summer crowds. There is so much to do, and enjoy and discover on the Cape and Tranquility is the perfect launch and return pad from which to enjoy your Cape Cod time.
