Beautiful log cabin nestled in the woods with dramatic views of Continental Divide (four-wheel drive a must in the winter). Private deck with large hot tub and gas grill. You'll marvel at the warmth your family/group feels around the river stone fireplace. Fourteen people can crowd around the handcrafted wood dining room table playing games while the cooks listen in from the gourmet kitchen. Every inch of this cabin was crafted by top rated finish carpenters. You'll marvel at the unique touches throughout. Each bathroom has its own Kohler fixtures (like a two-person jetted tub and old fashioned claw foot one) creating a distinct environment. The most frequent comment we hear from guests, 'Your pictures don't do it justice.' All manner of mountain sports are nearby. We're walking distance from the Arapaho National Forest and just a short drive to Winter Park Ski Area. A perfect setting for romance (we've had many small weddings) or family reunions and group get-togethers.

We built our beautiful log cabin in 1995. We have enjoyed the wonderful wooded national forest surrounding our home and the amazing ski resort in Winter Park
Steve and Sharon Torgerson purchased this cabin in 1995
We build our log cabin in 1995. It is nestled near the Arapaho National Forest and close to the Winter Park/Mary Jane Ski Area. We love to ski and all the winter and summer sports that are abundant in our area.
The summer is also a great time to be in the mountains of Colorado. In addition to the great hiking and mountain biking we are close to the Rocky Mountain National Park. We are also around 70 miles from downtown Denver which offers many city delights.
My family has been coming here for years and absolutely loves it!! The cabin is perfect for families or groups of friends. The description is accurate. The bunks upstairs are great for the kiddos and the three rooms offer privacy for couples. As a Chef I love working in this kitchen, Viking stove, large sink and plenty of tools to be creative. The kitchen is loaded with lots of tools. The large dinning room table is great for family gatherings and lots of meals. I always recommend this property, in fact I Iove it so much I haven’t spent much time exploring other mountains in Colorado.
We loved spending this past week at the dancing aspen cabin. The owner and caretaker are kind and helpful and we hope to keep returning!
Positives: AMAZING views/Huge dining room table. Negatives: Hot tub not set up and ready to go when we first arrived – assume would be done by the caretaker/The hot tub was dirty – Chemicals had clearly not been added to the water, we were sitting in dirt in the seats/Bottom drawer of dishwasher broken./Master bedroom tub would not drain/drain was broken; trash on the floors, empty water bottles and large hairballs throughout./Mud room bathroom shower was not cleaned./There was only about 2/3 of a roll of paper towels on the holder when we arrived, none in unit to replace. Had to borrow a roll from caretaker then purchase our own in town when that ran out./The ice maker not working./Stove vent not functioning, had to open the doors and several windows every time we used the stove./Upstairs bedroom at the top of the stairs had trash on the floor. In the bathroom in this room, the sink pedestal was very dirty./Holes in wall in mud room bathroom/Mouse droppings in lazy susan cabinets. No mention in listing there is a caretaker who not only lives on-site, but in basement. Emailed owners w/ concern over loudness of our group and space of house. House is NOT 3000 square feet without including basement (which you can't access). 3 separate emails from owner in response to my questions were rude, accusatory, threatening and passive-aggressive. Quoted: 1)"I will get him a hotel room for the 3 days you are here and tell him he can take the time off, if you like, but our location is beautiful because it is isolated and you'll have dig yourself out and handle difficulties that arise -- of course, you can call me in California…but my hands will be tied for some things." 2)"As an aside, did someone from your group sit on the back of the couch?..there was a significant tear in it. ..also said there was a big scratch on the refrigerator (it is new). I wouldn't mention them but thought you should probably know too, as some of your friends may have been careless. I didn't bother to take any of that out of the deposit because I'm not eager to deal with negatives." Couches are impossible to sit on back of, one backs up to a wall, the other has console running the entire height and length. He never mentioned these until after I mentioned all of the issues we had. No fridge scratch when we left. Expecting a crappy response from owner based on other critical reviews he received and his passive-aggressive responses to them. RUDE LYING OWNER, do not stay here.
Our entire family gathered for Christmas at The Dancing Aspen Cabin. We skied, sledded, snow-shoed and built snow forts. The kitchen provided everything we needed for meals -- a new Breville Mixer, stainless steel pots, pans, two ovens, six burners and a grill. The fireplace provided a wonderful family gathering spot and we enjoyed our conversations out on the deck in the hot tub -- the nights with moon shadows in the woods were spectacular. At night we could see the snow-capped Continental Divide across the valley ranches and horse pastures. The spectacular sun rises and sunsets added an alpenglow beauty to begin and cap every day. Winter Park and Mary Jane provided excellent skiing and snowboarding which made for great family fun. First class. We'd highly recommend it for everyone and plan on coming back this Spring for more fun.
My family of three and my sister's family of four stayed in this cabin for several days. It was very roomy, peaceful and in a good location. There was a lot of nature around the property and we enjoyed the beautiful views from the deck. The hot tub was very nice and relaxing as well.
This was a great place! The owners and caretakers were there for our every need and were very accommodating. Overall this was one of the best rentals I've used!
Well kept and plenty of space.
Winter Park/Fraser Valley is an outdoor paradise. It is skied by more people from Colorado than any other slopes in the State. There is wilderness, the Rocky Mountain National Park, tons of summer activities, a recreation center and all the summer activities of the mountains.
