What makes this cabin unique

The lodge is very secluded, yet only a few miles from I-93, and 2 hours outside of Boston. Hubbard Brook, the White Mountain National Forest, Mirror Lake, and much of the best skiing in the Northeast is at your fingertips, Mother Nature at her best.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Just wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful stay at the cabin. It was absolutely beautiful. The kitchen was amazing and we as a group had soooo much fun preparing meals together. Saturday it poured so we stayed in all day and played games around the wood stove. We met the cleaner and the plow guy who came to sand for us on Saturday and Sunday. They both were really nice.

The entire weekend was amazing and we hope to make this a yearly tradition. Thank you soo much!!!

AMAZING!!!

  • 5 of 5

Everything was just perfect about this house and location! My boyfriend, and I, and 3 other couples recently stayed at Brookside for three nights just to go riding though the mountains on our motorcycles. We wanted a house that could accommodate us all comfortably, that had a nice, open living space so that we could all hang out together, as well as a great outdoor space-and this house had it all and more! I agree with another reviewer that the photos do not do Brookside justice. The entire house was cozy enough for us to all cook together, hang out by the wood stove, and play card games. However, it was also spacious enough for us to be able to break away and have our own space if desired. It rained one of the days during our visit and despite being stuck inside all day, we had a blast. Between playing games, cooking great meals and enjoying the beautiful view from the screened in deck, we were thrilled! Once the rain ceased, we spent majority of our time out at the expansive fire-pit, while sharing stories and listening to the lulling sounds of the brook. We also took turns relaxing in the hot tub, which is outside near the fire-pit, but set discreetly behind a large tree providing some privacy. In addition to the house and property being a dream, the location is also perfect. We typically took route 3 straight into Lincoln to do our shopping, which has everything you need, including great restaurants as well. It is very close to the Kancamagus which was convenient for us when going out to do our longer rides through the mountains. Over-all, we couldn’t have been happier with Brookside for countless reasons and hope to return again next year. In addition, Joyce was such a pleasure to work with during the entire process of securing the house, providing helpful information regarding the house and surrounding area, and just being available if ever needed. Brookside is a very special place and as I sit here writing this review I long to be back there. Thank you, Joyce, for EVERYTHING and I will be in touch again about a future reservation.

Wintery Mountain Cabin

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was tucked away off the main road surrounded by trees! The sound of the brook running through the back was glorious! The cabin was clean, spacious but cozy at the same time. Everyone slept comfortably. It was kid friendly, we had ages 1, 4 and 7. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. There were games tucked away in multiple places, there was not once that we turned the TV on. It was a quick 15 min drive to Loon, Plymouth and Waterville. The owner was very helpful with any questions we had during our stay and quick to get back to me. It was the perfect place for our family ski trip, everything and more! We are excited to book our next stay!

Lovely Winter Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed at Joyce's Woodstock property in February 2017. We thoroughly enjoyed our long winter weekend getaway! The cabin is tucked away and very private but still conveniently located close to Waterville Valley and Loon Mountain. One day we drove 20 minutes to Waterville Valley for the snow tubing experience which was tons of fun. Other days we relaxed around the cabin and enjoyed the hot tub. We also very much enjoyed our breakfast at Benton's Sugar Shack (5-10 minute drive). The cabin definitely has a "cabin" loft feel but with modern appliances and amenities. Our only complaint would be the beds as they were quite hard and not super comfortable. I suppose this is just personal preference but we all commented on the stiffness. Also, the hot tub was a little stinky. But that didn't stop us from enjoying the hot tub every day!

Owner's Response: Hi Jen, glad you and your family enjoyed yourselves at our mountain lodge. Immediately after I read your review I hurried over to see what the problem was, as we like to keep everything immaculate at the lodge and had changed and rebalanced the water the prior week. It turns out the filter compartment was full of empty champagne and beer bottles, which caused the filtration system to break down. We discourage drinking in the hot tub, and I am sorry for not catching that before your arrival. While my family enjoys a firm mattress, we recognize not everyone does, and have featherbeds for those who like a softer sleep surface. I am always available to help, please call me right away next time! Hope to have you back as guests soon, the lodge is beautiful in every season!

AWESOME WILDERNESS GETAWAY FOR THANKSGIVING

  • 5 of 5

Delightful spacious cozy cabin enjoyed by my family of 5 for Thanksgiving. Plentiful supplies including kitchen items, linens, fluffy towels and paper items. All we had to bring was the Turkey and fixings. Plenty of space to spread out and have your privacy as well as cozy gathering areas in the kitchen and living room with wood stove. Breathtaking view from many windows. Hot tub a plus especially with light snow falling. Joyce was a wonderful host who supplied great information about the specifics of the rental and interesting places to visit in the Woodstock area. Thank you Joyce! We will perhaps make this a yearly Thanksgiving tradition!

Like a dream!

  • 5 of 5

I surprised my fiancé with a cabin in the woods for his 30th birthday. He requested total privacy and wanted a "middle of the woods" feel. He also wanted a jacuzzi! 😂򐠠This cabin is everything he could've ever wished for. The driveway itself takes you far back from the road to a grand log cabin. You can immediately hear the water flowing from the river right behind it. Walk around to the back of the cabin and there is a fire pit and jacuzzi right there! Sitting by the fire and listening to the flowing water was so relaxing. We couldn't hear any cars. A few owls though! Inside was immaculate and spacious. The kitchen was large and a dream to cook in. No TV (which we really liked) but WiFi so you can stay semi connected. One of my favorite things was the waffle maker! Plenty of bedrooms and again...so much space! Also, the town beach is only a 30 second drive (or a quick walk) down the street to mirror lake. Crystal clear water and beautiful views. Even though this place felt secluded, Lincoln New Hampshire was just 15 minutes up the road with plenty of stores and shops. We had a lovely stay and will definitely be back. Unbelievable. See for yourself! Couldn't have asked for more.
