Photos and Description of this Old La Sal holiday lodge

Lodge with 8 Bedrooms, 6.5 Bathrooms, Game Room, Beds for 46, and Mountain Views

Looking for that perfect business retreat or family reunion? How about a place that is off the beaten path, but still close? Hidden Oaks Lodge is located 40 minutes southeast of Moab on 200 acres of mountain land that borders the National Forest. This secluded eight bedroom, 7000 square foot lodge accommodates groups of 40+ and is so private that you can only see one other cabin light at night. The lodge is just a short 20 minute drive to beautiful Lopez Arch and red rock country in one direction, and even closer to pristine fishing lakes on the La Sal Mountains. You can even head directly out the back door with your mountain bike, hiking gear, cross country skis, or ATV's to access thousands of acres of National Forest Land. A huge 60 foot deck provides the perfect place for visiting, and the fire pit allows for plenty of marshmallow roasting. The kids will love to play Frisbee and Bad-Mitten on the ginormous lawn and will spend hours building forts in the nearby gamble oak trees. The pond is perfect for skipping rocks and splashing around in on warm summer days. The outdoor commercial-sized grill will make meal time a breeze, and bedtime is a cinch when cousins don't have to wait in line for a shower. You won't want to miss out on this spectacular place to stay when you visit Moab!

About Aleigh Redd

Hidden Oaks Lodge is located on our cattle ranch which has been in our family for four generations. It is our family's favorite place to be together when we need a break from the noise of the rest of the world! We love the serenity we experience while staying at the lodge and want others to experience and enjoy it as well. When we are not at the lodge, we keep busy with our 5 kids and their various activities.

What makes this lodge unique

Hidden Oaks Lodge is unique in the sense that it so easily accommodates large groups. The large structure never feels crowded, and the outdoor space allows for plenty of roaming room. With 6 showers, 7 toilets, plenty of beds, and a large kitchen, it is the perfect place for big groups. The location of the lodge is secluded country living at it's best while being just a short drive to all the tourism hot spots that Moab has to offer.

Guestbook comments from the owner

My family absolutely LOVED the lodge. The new open configuration of the main floor worked very well for our large group. We celebrated three big events ( a marriage, a 65th birthday, and a soon to be baby) and everyone fit into the great room and front entry. The openness of the kitchen into the dining area/great room was very conducive for all to visit. My siblings all agreed that the bedrooms were comfortable for each family. (Loved all of the queen beds/bunks.) Also, the linens were very soft and plentiful. We did do several loads of laundry to be sure there weren't too many dirty bath towels/kitchen towels for you to do.

The breakfast/dinner entertainment was wonderful for the six children (ages 2-7). I'm referring to the deer that came to eat and drink at those times. Also, the front lawn was a baseball field and game area for young and old. Those of us who weren't playing at the time had a great view from the porch.

Thank you for allowing us to rent your beautiful lodge and we will keep Hidden Oaks on our list of possible places to stay when we gather again in two years.

We had a wonderful stay here. We had a family reunion with all age ranges and thoroughly enjoyed our time. There was plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. Beautiful views all-around, great place for families.

Recently returned from a family reunion at this Lodge. We all adored it! The main living space is large enough so no one is tripping over each other. The bedrooms are large and the dorm-style bathrooms worked well for us. The pond was fabulous and we used the fire pit every night. It was so peaceful and quiet. It was a great middle ground for our adventures to Moab, Arches and Canyonlands. I would highly recommend this Lodge!!

Since it sleeps so many, and has double stoves, double dishwashers, double would be nice to have more plates, cups, bowls etc., so that we weren't using so many paper products (glad we brought a bunch) and filling up the garbage cans so quickly.

One reason we chose this property is because it was one of the few that was large AND stated it was wheelchair accessible. I really think you could set yourself above the rest and find an audience that needs this type of accommodation by making some modifications so that it is not just wheelchair accessible, but usable. A single parking space with concrete would help with getting the wheelchair to the paved path leading to the ramp. A ramp off the back porch or a paved path around the side leading to the back would be awesome. The main floor bedroom/bathroom would be usable for a person in a wheelchair if the bed were lower, the toilet were higher and had grab bars. Not everyone can put in a roll-in shower, so sponge baths would do. We had our wheelchair user sleep on a couch because the bed was too high and not accessible. We also had a family member, coming day 2, bring a toilet seat riser and grab bars so that our wheelchair user could use the toilet. It worked out, but this Lodge is just beyond amazing and it would be incredibly unique if it had a few tweaks to truly make it usable for those in wheelchairs.

We cannot thank you enough for our time we had there as a family! My mother wakes up at night still thinking she is there! She adored it, as did we all. Family members went on early morning bike rides and runs. Others sat on the back porch and watched the deer come by early every morning. We rented a raft and the kids played on the pond for hours. They even had a blast 'fishing' in the pond, although it is not stocked (which was great for us! No fish to clean...hooray!). I would highly recommend this Lodge! You will not regret your stay at all.

Hidden Oaks Lodge is quietly secluded at the base of the La Sal Mountains and offers plenty of serenity along with opportunities to love the outdoors! It borders National Forest and is directly connected to county roads leading into the heart of the beautiful La Sal Mountains. These roads are just perfect for an ATV or mountain bike outing. Walking, hiking, and ATV riding are the most popular activities close to the lodge with nearby Moab offering both Canyonlands and Arches National Parks. Fishing on the La Sal Mountains is a crowd favorite, and jeeping Moab's red rocks is always a good time. Enjoy some front porch sitting, roast marshmallows in the fire pit, splash in the pond, or play some bad-mitten on the ginormous lawn. Kids will be in heaven building forts in the oak brush, going on treasure hunts, playing Hide-n-go-Seek and Kick-the-Can, and getting plenty of use out of the playground. Hidden Oaks Lodge is country living at it's best!
