Water Valley Inn can accommodate groups up to 10.

The Inn is a great place for girlfriend get-aways, family reunions, bachelorette parties, families looking for a place to stay together for a wedding or SIU graduation. The Inn is very adaptable to your needs.

The Inn has two bedrooms (queen beds), bathroom, living room, dining room, kitchen and parlor on main floor. Upstairs, has three bedrooms (one queen, one queen and twin, one twin) and a bathroom.

About Kim Aldridge

My husband grew up helping his grandfather farm the land that surrounds the farmhouse. Which inspired a love of working in the fields. He now owns and operates an Automotive Repair business. In his spare time he takes care of mowing that gives him the opportunity to still work in the fields.

I was a stay-at-home mom while our kids were home. After they started school I needed something to keep me busy so kept friends and neighbors kids. When we had a decision to make about what to do with the farmhouse we decided to try renting it. Now I take care of the house and see to the comfort and needs of our guests.

Why Kim Aldridge chose Illinois

We opened our house to the public in 2007. Not wanting to see it set up on the hill and deteriorate from non use we decided to turn it into a rental so we could share the beauty of the old house. This house has been in our family since 1942 and was only owned by one other family before ours. Stories are told that part of the lumber used to build the house came from a mill that was set up on the property that we now live on.

What makes this farmhouse unique

I fell in love with the farmhouse the first time my husband & I went to a family Christmas gathering. It has character that is unmatched by any new home. Most all of our guests say it reminds them of their 'grandmas'.

Perfect for our family

We stayed while attending our daughter's graduation from SIU. The home was large enough for our family to enjoy each other and have our own space. The kitchen was very well equipped, the decor was charming, and the beds were comfortable. We found the farmhouse to be immaculate and just what we needed to sit back and relax.

Great Place

A group of us stayed here while attending a reunion at SIU. Its in a beautiful area near several wineries. The house has been updated but still has the charm of a home built in the 1800's.

Great beds, fully equipped kitchen and great porches to sit and relax in the country.

We'll be back!

The property is in a very lovely, country setting. The house looked to be well maintained.

This area of Illinois is very beautiful with rolling hills, wooded areas, cow pastures, and wineries galore. The property was a bit off the beaten path so our GPS had a hard time finding it, however, the owner was accessible by phone and very willing to help us out. The house is a very charming older home. The floor plan offered our large group the ability to occupy several areas at once without feeling cramped or in each other's space. The quality of the sheets on the beds were better than any 4 star hotel I've stayed at, and the "extras" in the kitchen and bathrooms were unexpected and delightful. The kitchen was on the small side so entertaining would have to be well thought out. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there, and if we find ourselves going to this part of Illinois in the future we would use this property again in a heartbeat.

We have a variety of activities all within 30 miles depending on your likes. Shawnee Hills Wine Trail, Shawnee Bluffs Zip Line, Giant City State Park, Rock Climbing and Bike Trails. For those a little less adventurous or looking to get away from the busyness of the city life, we have a great wrap-around front porch and fire pit. Bring a book or borrow one of ours and relax while enjoying the wildlife and starry skies.

House had all windows replaced in Jan. 2014. Central air and heat was added in May of 2014. No more noisy windows to contend with.
