We are Roger & Kate Lemire and always loved to come up to Pittsburg, NH to camp, hunt, fish, snowmobile, hike, and go boating on the numerous mountain lakes and ponds. In 2000 we purchased a 2.5 acre parcel of land at the end of a ridge top private road. Back then the road to the land was a gated 4 wheel-drive one lane road. We camped out on the land the first season while working to clear a building site for a cabin we planned to build and maybe some day retire to. We would come up from Bow, NH every weekend to work the land. Roger pre-cut the frame to the original cabin at his workshop in Bow, NH and transported the lumber up to Pittsburg, NH on a trailer and then assembled the cabin. Our weekend treks to Pittsburg began to increase to include Thursdays....and then Mondays..and before we knew it we were spending more time in Pittsburg than we were at home in Bow....so we decided to sell the Bow property and make the move. 13 years later we have a greatly improved road, 12 acres of land, 2 rental cabins, and our new main lodge. We are always available to our guests to offer tips on places to fish, hunt, or snowmobile or to help with any questions or issues that may arise.
Roger & Kate Lemire purchased this cottage in 2000
We chose this parcel of land having looked at many others because of it's location. Right off Hill Road....just a little over a mile to Young's Store....yet such a private setting a lot of local folks didn't even know where it was.
The private setting is what makes this property unique. At the end of a private road surrounded by the great north woods....no through traffic....lot's of wildlife sightings....quiet....peaceful....sunny.....
The cabin was very neat, charming and cozy. The kitchen had everything that we needed, the bedroom and living room were comfortable and the shower was wonderful. There was plenty of heat from the gas stove in the kitchen and a supplemental unit in the living room. The surroundings were very well kept and rustic. There was a fire pit and plenty of firewood for a beautiful moonlit campfire.
Roger and Kate were very pleasant and willing to provide guidance and suggestions regarding area information. It was very nice to find a welcome note and whoopie pies waiting for us on arrival.
We enjoyed a great rustic getaway! The setting was private but not secluded as there is another cabin only a few yards away. We would have rated it a 5-Star experience however the Wifi was weak and spotty at best - not the worst thing in today's hyper connected world but a little less than we expected.
We would definitely stay at Ally Cabin again!

We traveled to Pittsburg with our new side by side ATV. We are not new to the Pittsburg area, but we are new to driving and riding the trails. Kate and Roger gave us very helpful advice. The cabin was clean, and well stocked. The location was perfect-and of the road, yet accessible to the trails. Very quiet. Everything we needed in the cabin, and if not- Roger and Kate were right next door. I hesitate to write such a good review,as I fear we may not be able to book it again after all the good reviews!
My husband and I and our little 20lb, non-shedding dog stayed in this beautifully maintained little gem in the woods. The pictures may make it look small but we found it quite spacious and wonderfully decorated. The grounds are well kept, there are gardens to enjoy and the wild raspberries growing around the large property were delicious. I would definitely recommend this home to everyone and it is truly a 4 season destination!
Well, I'm not even sure where to start! This place was absolutely amazing, and the hosts were fantastic-very helpful, and very kind! We went up to Pittsburg so my boyfriend could run in his first half marathon about 25 minutes away. We had our dogs with us, and we could not have had a more perfect time! A lovely walk in the morning, and a fire each night. Our days were filled with exploring and seeing the beautiful area. I can't stress enough how nice of a place this is. It is truly a beautiful cabin with everything you need right there. We will definitely be back!
No surprises and all was exactly as advertised! Our hosts were tremendous and made our anniversary weekend very special. The cabin was clean, tidy and extremely comfortable. The quietest vacation setting I've ever experienced - this is what people mean when they say they are getting away from it all.
During the winter months we bounce around once a week to different places to stay in Pittsburg, depending on availability and the last minute specials to make our stays affordable. The Ally Cabin is by far the best we have found thus far, it is immaculately clean, the price cannot be beat, it has absolutely everything anyone would ever need for year round stays. The best part of this cabin is the mudroom!!! We go to Pittsburg to snowmobile and the mudroom makes my life so much easier, the majority of places we stay do not have this feature, and it is right next to the washer/dryer!
Kate and Roger's attention to detail is fantastic, I really appreciated it, I love it when people take that much pride!
The snowmobile access is super easy, and only minutes from Young's Store.
Another plus is they allow pets.
Fresh baked cookies on arrival were the cake topper.
Thank you for a great stay, we look forward to seeing the Ally Cabin again!
The Ally Cabin is located at the end of a private road yet close to all of Pittsburg's amenities. Young's Store is just a little over a mile from the cabin and sells generally everything; groceries, deli, cut to order steaks, gifts, gasoline, and State of NH Liquor outlet. Lake Francis State Park and The First Connecticut Lake are both just a few miles from the cabin. Snowmobile and ATV trail from the cabin to restaurants, stores, gas stations, lakes or where ever you want to go.
