A Marvelous Visit

We have really enjoyed vacations spent in Cape Charles, VA. The house is clean,

spacious, well equipped and well air conditioned. The beach which is very close

to the house is clean and shallow, it is perfect for young children. The area

is quiet and the neighborhood favorable. We recommend this destination

especially for young families.

Restful and convenient.

  • 4 of 5

Beach is within 50 yards and pleasant to use. The house is good for vacations: comfortable, well furnished, and a good size. We could walk to "downtown" without trouble. The area was quiet and peaceful, just what we wanted.

Beautiful sunsets

  • 3 of 5

This was our 3rd year of vacation at Sisters 3 by the sea. We had hoped that some improvements had been made to the house but found they had not. The pipe to the shower upstairs was so loose we were afraid to use it so everyone had to use the downstairs shower. The cooktop on the stove had to be turned on by the breaker. The freezer door came off the track and we put it back on but it is very hard to open and close. The small sofa in the living room is uncomfortable because you go to the floor when you sit on it. The house is advertised to accommodate 8 people. Our very favorite place to be was the front porch and there are only 4 small plastic chairs and they are very uncomfortable to sit in. The front steps would be much easier and safer to climb with a railing of some kind to hold on to. At times there was a strong odor of sulfur in the house. With all that said we might consider returning to the house next year if improvements are made. We loved the short walk to the beach and the wonderful sunsets. My husband and I grew up in Cape Charles and our children and grandchildren love to visit there.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. Each year we do interior improvements. Due to back to back rentals it has been difficult to get into the house to perform minor repairs such as the stove and the shower. I was unaware of any problems with the refrigerator. Unfortunately the sulfur oder is a city sewer problem that we are addressing with the city. We appreciate your loyalty to Sisters 3 by the Sea. The living room furniture will be replaced before your next visit. Thank you.

Love the town & beach!

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful stay, and absolutely loved the beach! It was perfect for little ones since the water was not very deep, especially at low tide. We really enjoyed the town and the fishing pier as well. Everyone was very friendly and full of information. The house had everything we needed, and we loved the character. A few updates to the house are needed, but overall comfy. The location across the street from the beach was perfect. Wonderful sunsets. We also LOVED and cannot say enough about The Shanty, Gourmet Alley, & Brown Dog to eat! .

Very homey with great location

  • 5 of 5

I recently stayed at Sisters 3 by the Sea along with 3 friends for a weekend visit. The house was quite comfortable - there was enough room to all sit in the living room or at the dining table. The beds were very comfortable. We really enjoyed being close enough to town to walk in - unfortunately the ice cream shop hadn't opened yet. Wifi seemed fine, never even turned the tv on. Just a note - some of the rooms only have 2-prong outlets so if you have laptops to plug in you may want a few 3-to-2 prong converters. All in all we really enjoyed our visit and hope to be back again. Thanks!

Enjoyed the stay

  • 4 of 5

Overall the stay was very pleasant. The view from the front porch was beautiful. Being at the north end of the beach, and the last house on Pine street, allows for a wonderful view of the bay. The house was clean and bright. Because of the recent storm, there was no television service. There was no hot water in the first floor shower. This made it difficult for our older couple to shower. The front stairs are steep and definitely need a handrail, again because we had an older couple.

That being said, we would still like to do it again if the TV, shower, and handrail issue are addressed.

Owner's Response: Thank You for your review. As you know due to the storm the dish needed to be replaced. It has been upgraded to high def., so next year you will hopefully have the ultimate television experience.

Great bayside location in small town, nice rooms, great to relax, character.

  • 4 of 5

Went to Cape Charles to experience hurricane Matthew from close up. Beautiful house with nice front porch. 3 bedrooms with ing and queen, 4th bedroom with 2 twins. Nicely furnished, lots of character, only the bathrooms (1 full bath upstairs, one shower downstairs behind the kitchen) could need an update. All in all a wonderful house and a great location to relax. Exactly as described in the ad, clean, absolutely no issues.Howard was quick in answering emails, everything was straightforward. Really close to the large bayside beach. Walk to the pub, bistro and shops on the main street in Cape Charles. Fishing pier, marina and golf all right there. And that old house weathered the hurricane no problem. We'd love to come back.
