We stayed at Michael's casita in March, 2016 while visiting La Paz. This casita is perfect. The bed was super comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked with dishes, coffee maker, etc... Staying at the casita is like staying in real Mexico. I know because I'm an international teacher who has lived in Durango, Mexico, for the last two years. It is close to the beginning of the Malecon. Michael is an extremely attentive host. He is helpful and always available to ask questions or give suggestions. His dog, Buddy, is a lovely dog and always happy to see you come home. La Paz is a wonderful place to visit with lots of things to do. Got to snorkel with sea lions and visit a beautiful beach north of La Paz. We did not have a car and got around on Aguila buses and Eco Buses (both buses are readily accessible by buying tickets at the bus terminal right on the Malecon (Independencia Avenue). Great way to get around Baja California Sur. We went to San Jose after La Paz on the Aguila bus. I would definitely recommend staying at Michael's casita. He also has other accommodations on site so a great place if you are traveling with other couples or families. It was warm, welcoming, and we had a fantastic stay!!!

Excellent accomodation

  • 5 of 5

We were delighted with our week at the Casita, an excellent accommodation. Michael is an attentive and friendly host and Buddy loving and welcoming. Very nice to return to our hideaway to find Buddy wagging his tail in the beautiful garden. Really comfortable bed with nice, ample covers. Cozy kitchen nook. Non tourist residential area. Tasty local down home cafes nearby. Marilyn P.

A Perfect Place in La Paz

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time staying at the Casita! The space was perfect for the two of us with a living area and small kitchenette and a semi-separate bedroom with a big comfortable bed. The property is lovely and has a very tranquil feeling with a nice patio and garden area. Buddy, Michael's dog is also super sweet and friendly and we loved coming "home" to his wiggly greetings. Michael was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed in the Casita. He also gave us tips on where to find some excellent food. Tacos el Chino is right down the street and has amazing tacos! The location of the Casita is in a prime location just a few blocks from the Malecon and within walking distance to lots of good restaurants and the farmers market. The location is also a great jumping off spot for some day trips to awesome beaches and snorkeling. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in La Paz and hope to be back one day.

What a great place!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic stay at the Casita! The house is so cosy and convenient: warm colours, nice decorations, perfectly cleaned, 5-10 min walk from the Malencon.. what more could you want? Michael & Buddy (the dog) were perfect hosts and made us feel really welcome. We stayed longer than planned and.. we can't wait to be back in La Paz & the Casita! Highly reccomended.

Beautiful, Relaxing Getaway

  • 5 of 5

What a find! The casita was the perfect place to stay in La Paz. Everything about the little house was wonderful: the kitchen was stocked with enough coffee, milk, and water to get us through our first couple days, the sitting area is super comfortable, and the bedroom is a cozy spot that lets in light and the sound of church bells in the late morning. The courtyard is a gorgeous, shady place to spend hot afternoons - when we were there, a family of Orioles were nesting in one of the palm trees! Plus, you're walking distance to delicious food stands (Tacos El Chino just down the street has the best tacos al pastor), corner stores selling cold beer and limes, and the bustling Malecon. Michael is an excellent, friendly host with great food and activity recommendations, and his dog, Buddy, is a sweetheart. We highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting La Paz, and we'll definitely stay here again on our next trip to BCS!

Great location and great value

  • 5 of 5

Just a few blocks from Marina de La Paz and the fabulous waterfront Malecon! We spent an enjoyable 10 days here while we explored downtown La Paz and the waterfront by foot. It's close to many restaurants and local food stands with fabulous Arrachara beef and local seafood. Michael is a gracious and attentive host but never intrusive. Buddy the dog is cute and friendly. We would definitely visit again and recommend this place highly.
