Rare Cabin with Both Whitewater Frontage and a Mountain View - No Cleaning Fee

Bedrooms 3
Space 204 m²
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Two Bedroom plus Loft, Three Bath Cabin with Game Rooms and Hot Tub

Pay no cleaning fee at any of our cabins. Whitewater Overlook is ten minutes from town, but you will feel like you are in a remote area, surrounded by huge white pine and hemlock trees, ferns, and rhododendron. The cabin is on a hill directly above Fightingtown Creek, one of Georgia's premier large trout streams, almost as big as a river. You can see and hear the rushing whitewater from all four levels of decks. Take the winding path down the steep hill to the freestanding deck perched out above the creek or stay on the path down to the water's edge to dip your feet in or go fishing. There is also a beautiful year-round mountain view from the upper three decks.

Whitewater Overlook is a large cabin, with over 2000 sq. ft. of finished space and three full bathrooms. It has a pool table, outdoor Jacuzzi-brand hot tub, foosball table, two fireplaces, a hammock, two HDTVs, a dartboard, and a complete poker set-up. The spacious lodge-style interior sleeps up to six. The main level has a large, fully-equipped kitchen with granite counter tops and new stainless-steel appliances, a great room and dining area with a cathedral ceiling and DirecTV satellite/HDTV home theater system, and a master suite with a walk-in closet and double-vanity master bath with tub/shower. The master bedroom has a queen bed and a french door that opens onto the upper deck, which has a porch swing, rocking chairs, and a picnic table. The lower level has ten-foot ceilings throughout and a rec room with pool table, dartboard, fireplace, and DirecTV satellite HDTV. Also on that level is a large bedroom suite with queen bed, walk-in closet, and attached full bathroom with tub/shower. A french door from the rec room leads to the lower deck with a hot tub, hammock, and rocking chairs. The loft has a queen sofa bed, foosball table, poker table, comfortable reading area, and full bathroom with tub/shower. We provide everything for your stay except food and personal items.

Gorgeous and very clean cabin

  • 4 of 5

Loved staying here! Everything was very nice and there was plenty of linens and supplies provided. We had almost everything we needed; we wanted to use the outdoor grill but there was no propane. We really enjoyed the hot tub and pool table. Thank you for a great stay!

Owner's Response: I am glad you enjoyed the cabin. The propane grill never has a tank underneath. It is permanently connected to the house propane system. Directions are in the guestbook in the kitchen to turn the valve on to start the gas. There is plenty of propane in the big house tank. If you have problems getting anything to work on future stays, please call me on the provided cell phone number.

Cozy Mountain Retreat

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I rented this cabin to have a peaceful mountain weekend before the bustle of the holidays, and it was everything that we hoped. This cabin is quiet and clean, and the views from the porches are amazing.

We had everything we needed to enjoy our stay, and particularly, we enjoyed the sentimental touch of the Christmas tree all aglow upon our arrival.

In the future, we are hoping to rent this cabin often.

Cabin Needs Attention!

  • 2 of 5

These things would need addressing before we would stay back or ever consider recommending this property. First would be to eliminate what appears is an ingrained food odor thru out and very unappealing when first walk in. It did not dissipate for the 3 night stay. The floors were not clean and it appeared the fridge & toaster oven were wiped with dirty rag. I will say the bathrooms were cleaned, however, bath mats dodgy & towels/wash cloths, too old. The pillows were completely flat and no extra pillowcases to even use for the flat spare ones. The third bed (pullout sofa) in the loft area was totally warped and unsuitable to be considered a bed. The sofa and chair in the main living room were not comfortable and seriously too well used. The hot tub levels were not checked prior to arriving which one would hope would’ve been the case.

Positive points; it is a good location to town, you can hear the river at night if windows open. It is definitely set up to keep guests entertained; tv, movies, WiFi, game tables etc. A clean out and update needed!

Beautiful view and sound of the river!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our weekend stay at this beautiful cabin. We definitely enjoyed sitting on the porches and the hot tub. Highly recommend Mercier Orchards for everything apple including samples of hard apple cider! Loved downtown Blue Ridge but was a bit busy this time of year. The fall colors were insanely gorgeous this weekend! Thank you John for sharing your beautiful cabin with us! We will be back!

Cape May, New Jersey

Well kept clean cabin with a little bit of everything.

  • 4 of 5

Having owned a cabin in Blue Ridge as well as renting several others, the Overlook cabin offers a visitor rare mountain and river views. Plenty of deck space for enjoying the sights, along with a couple lower level decks in the side of the hill to give you a closer look at Fightingtown Creek. Very private location that adds to the quiet and peaceful setting. The interior has all the amenities promised. All sleeping accommodations have a full bath,,great living area on main floor with great heat producing fireplace. Cornice boxes on the windows, along with many of the nice rustic decorations adds to the feeling of being in the mountains. Great game room in basement also with a nice river rock faced fireplace. Hot tub, coming from someone that own's one, was very clean and worked quite well. I would say for the price point, the location, and the total mountain view package, certainly worth the investment!
