Experience Life at Maritime by Stay Alfred
Built in 1893, The Maritime building was recently fully renovated and converted into upscale residences. As the first skyscraper in New Orleans, the building is now on the National Register of Historic Places. During the renovation, traditional elements were preserved, giving this property both old and new charm.
Your condo features an open concept floorplan with large windows which make the space feel open and airy. The light, coffee colored bamboo floors, from the living room to the bedroom, glisten in the windows' light. The kitchen is stunning, with dark wood cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, and granite countertops. It is sure to make meal prep a treat.
This one bedroom, one bath condo offers a king size bed and queen size pull-out sofa bed to comfortably accommodate up to four people. A huge, bamboo sliding wall divides the bedroom from the living room.
There is plenty of room to spread out and enjoy all the creature comforts of home. You'll even have a washer and dryer at your disposal. Plenty of amenities are available throughout the building as well. The fitness center features a "sky view" ceiling and sauna and steam rooms. To cool off, take a dip in the rooftop pool.
Exploring the city couldn't be easier from the Maritime's central New Orleans location. You are just a block from Canal Street and all the dining, shopping, and nightlife it has to offer. If you need more family friendly attractions, just hop on the trolley and head to the Canal Street Station. There you'll find the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas which also has an IMAX theater. No matter what you are looking for, the Maritime puts you close to it all.
Let Stay Alfred host your next trip to New Orleans.

Wonderful property which was better than expected. Safe, secure and clean. Literally one block away from all of the action. I will definitely stay here again. Everything that you could need was available. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
Overall, this is a positive review.
The condo was very spacious. The kitchen had just about everything we needed, a coffee maker, a large refrigerator and a microwave. You get your money's worth compared to any hotel room.
There's a mart right across the street where you can conveniently get things you may need to add like milk and sugar for your morning coffee. We were only blocks from the French Quarter so I could walk to my conference hotel.
The bathroom was nice, and I noticed that both the toilet and the shower had handicap rails for those who might need them. There was plenty of space in the bedroom, the bathroom, and the closet.
There was also a combo washer dryer with Tide pods that was convenient, and televisions in both the main living room area and the bedroom that both had screens of good size.
To improve, it would have been really nice if they supplied a roll of paper towels. I had to clean up one small spill with toilet paper. The bathroom water temperature sometimes fluctuated, and there was no bar for the towels in the bathroom. It once was there, and the marks on the wall were quite noticeable.
The bed was quite large, but a new mattress was really required. You could see the bow in the mattress from the other side of the condo, but in fairness, it did not interfere with my sleep.
The security staff was pleasant and engaging. Especially since the city was still in full recovery mode from Mardi Gras. It's clear that they were exhausted, but that didn't diminish their professionalism.
All things considered, I'd come back.
location and space great--we had a good time
some critique-- poor lighting, lots of street noise, and a bit dusty
Want to first say that the location of this hotel couldn't get much better if you are trying to stay close to the French Quarter (bourbon street) and yet want to come back to a quiet place to sleep. It also helped that this place was about 5 times the size of a nearby hotel for about the same price per night. Overall I really enjoyed staying here and would highly recommend it to other people looking to visit. I was worried that showing up later in the night to check in would cause problems but it was honestly such a breeze and we were in our room before we knew it. Only complaint there is that you only get one standard key with a little wristlet. This was sometimes inconvinient if our group wanted to split up. The building is very nice including the rooftop pool (which is heated), exercise room, and saunas which are in the men and women's lockerooms.
There were however a few things that could be improved... We stayed in room 703 and it did not exactly match the pictures shown in the ad...but was still fairly nice. (Just not decorated as well as in the pictures) The king bed was plenty comfortable and I did not feel any springs in my back as I read in another review. However it did look a little broken in the middle on the lower frame. The sofa bed on the other hand needs a lot of attention if they want to advertise this place as sleeping 4 people. This thing had seen some abuse and looked like some of the supports near the foot of the pull out bed were broken. This made it a far less comfortable stay for my friends that had to sleep on the disfigured bed.
There were also several large windows in this room that let ALOT of light in during the day which can be bad if you stayed out till 4 a.m...like we did.... So I would highly recommend the owners get blackout shades or some good drapes to make it more comfortable to sleep during the morning hours when the sun is up.
Other than those things we really did enjoy our stay and if you are thinking about booking you really should! If someone is planning on sleeping on the pullout bed though be prepared for some discomfort if they don't fix it up. Even an air mattress would be a nice fix to this problem.
I went to visit New Orleans with 3 girlfriends from college. Location was great, walking distance from almost anywhere we wanted to go. Amenities were great - the full kitchen and pool was amazing to have.
At one time, I am sure that this was a nice unit, but, not only was the dishwasher missing (there was a hole for one, so management obviously knew there was a problem with this unit and rented it anyway), there were no towel or tp holders in the bathroom, no cable splitter (so you would have to unscrew the cable from the living area to screw in the cable for the bedroom), the cabinets were broken in the bathroom and the kitchen, and there were holes in walls that were patched, but not painted. This unit was not even the one pictured on VRBO. This unit should have never been rented. When I called the customer service line, they told me that they had a pipe break in this unit, they did offer to move me to another unit, but retracted their offer when they realized that there was not another unit available. They then offered to send someone by to work on the unit while we were there? We declined. In the end, Stay Alfred offered me 10% off of my “next” Stay Alfred booking... yeah right, I will never stay with Stay Alfred again!
