Sitting on the back deck surrounded by the pine forest, you'd never know you were so close to the action in South Lake Tahoe. But, with just about a 10 minute drive, you can be at Heavenly, the lake, or the casinos. When the excitement ends and you're ready for some peace and quiet, Nestled Pines Retreat is the perfect escape. Located in a quiet residential community bordering the national forest, you'll be treated to the kind of tranquility that most of us only dream about. In the summer, you'll love hiking the nearby High Meadow and Cold Creek trails. And after a long day of skiing in the winter, treat yourself to a dip in the hot tub or some indoor fun on the foosball or pool table.

Carpets were very dirty.
Mold in the downstairs bathroom which I cleaned before use.
I gave a list of needed repairs to the property management company.
The hot tub is very nice.
The kitchen has enough pots and pans and plenty of utensils.
The deck is very nice.
We enjoyed our stay, but the house has heavy wear and tear and needs some attention.
We loved the amenities, decor, kitchen, foosball and location. A perfect spot for a scenic stroll or run. Close enough away from the central Tahoe to enjoy the peacefulness. Quiet neighborhood. Definitely the home we will continue to return to when we stay at South Lake Tahoe.
The house was spacious and beautiful the rooms were clean and the jacuzzi was great. This location is first up on our list if we come back to Tahoe again ... Mahalo all the way from Hawaii Kaili and Randi Kaauwai
-Great location - perfect balance of feeling surrounded by the forest but conveniently close to town.
-Great space - we had a full house but it never felt crowded and the layout was perfect for social gatherings.
-Very comfortable - everyone slept well and generally felt very comfortable in the house. Also well-heated - we were never cold inside even though it was very cold outside.
-Netflix and Amazon Prime are already set up. Also there was a crockpot and we mulled hot apple cider every night! Hot tub and grill worked great!
-Our internet was completely down the first night (they gave us the wrong password0. Many of us depended on the internet for work and didn't have reception on our phones, so it was a major inconvenience. We called concierge when we arrived but they said they wouldn't be able to get in contact with tech support until the morning (that's not exactly 24 hr service as advertised). We understand that technical issues happen, but we were surprised at the lack of urgency at the time and the lack of empathy when we complained after the trip -- they told us internet access "wasn't guaranteed" and refused to offer any compensation.
-The house is generally clean but the carpet was pretty gross. They have signs that ask guests to keep their shoes off while in the house but clearly people haven't followed instructions and the owners aren't doing a good job of keeping it clean.
-Neighboring houses are VERY close together, which was fine, but the description is a bit misleading.
Know Before You Go
-They only provide the bare minimum - one set of bedding and towels/person, a small amount of dish soap, hand soap, paper towels, a couple of trash bags, and a few pantry items. If you have 12 people this will only get you through one night so make sure to plan in some shopping. Giving 12 people only 12 set of towels is a little silly, since we brought them out to the hot tub each night, so we recommend asking for extras.
-Do your food shopping at Grocery Outlet - prices are amazing and they had everything we needed except for liquor (they just sell wine and beer).
-The neighborhood doesn't do a good job of clearing the road/driveway of snow and our car got stuck on the driveway- be careful!
Stayed with 5 other couples and really enjoyed the house. Plenty of room and comfortable. It also offers a great central location.
My days of writing long reviews are over, but this was an absolutely awesome place that far exceeded my expectations. We stayed in the summer and it is in perfect area, on a hill, against open space, and even steps away from the world class tahoe rim trail. It was also perfectly located between lake tahoe and highway 50. Thanks Nestled Pines, you blew me away.
