This property is conveniently located downtown and blocks away from the military base. If you are here TDY or on business and want to bring your family with, it is perfect! The family can walk to the park and play (park is less than a block away) or let the dogs run. It is near the coastal trail if you are a runner or want to rent bicycles. Downtown is a two minute car ride and has shopping, restaurants, tourist attractions, museums, you name it. This is the perfect location!

We loved this house! Everything about it on the vrbo website is completely accurate and exceeded our expectations!!!
Thank you thank you
At first glance everything looked good. The first thing we found was a disgusting refrigerator. It was nasty and I didn't want to put our groceries in it. We then called the property manager who came back and tried to clean it out.needless to say "Epic Fail". After he left, we cleaned it anyway and tried to settle in for the night. We then found urine, hair and funk on the toilets, floor, sink and tubs in both bathrooms. We then called the owner who asked for pics. We sent 25-30 pics from around the house. All she had said was she was going to call the cleaning company and would contact us. Ultimately I text her and asked for our cleaning fee back. Our request was pretty reasonable considering what we had payed for the 4 nights and had to clean everything before we could even take a shower. We gave her a chance to make things right with us but she literally stopped answering our phone calls and wouldn't reply to our texts. Personally, I feel like that is a very poor business practice. Other than the cleanig fee, all we asked for was access to the cleaning closet and a vacuum so we didn't have to stay in filth. What made the situation worse is the fact we had already traveled for around 9 hours that day and expected to stay in a clean house. We couldn't even cook ourselves dinner due to the appliances and counters being absolutely disgusting as well. After being in the military almost 18 years (four long deployments to Iraq and countless other very disgusting areas) I can generally accept living in filth. In this case, I even felt uneasy using or touching anything in this house. Even the kitchen counter tops were sealed with hair in the sealant. ABSOLUTLEY DISCUSTING!!! How can you expect people to make their food on that? It was a really crappy experience with 7 other family members (4 from Germany) and a two year old who likes to play on the floor! Good thing I can't upload the pics or I would. After this experience we drove to Seward. The house We stayed at there was smaller But blew our mind with how awesome it was. This only solidified what we expected the entire experience to be and makes this review even more important to us. Believe me, it wasn't about the money, it is about the principle. I will never recommend this property to my family, friends, nor my soldiers. I will be telling everyone I know to avoid this place!
Pros: The house was nice and clean. Stocked with laundry Detergent for washing our clothes and dishes for eating although we only ate breakfast there. Pretty close to everything. The bedrooms were a good size. We had 17 people staying there and we had plenty of room.
Cons: Curb appeal wasn't great (dead flowers in pots, lawn, both front and back, needed mowing). Dog poop in back yard. We weren't told where the garbage cans were (had to search property). It was also hard to get ahold of owners with questions after booking but prior to arriving.
All in all, we had a good stay and would stay again.
Beds were ok but needed replaced. Recommendation is replace queen/double to kings w new mattress. Not bad place to stay but electric issue was a let down. Got it resolved thanks to Tiff. Maybe put up blackout blinds as an added benefit.
The house was easy to find from the airport. I would suggest
to the owners that more ceiling fans in other rooms from the
entry way would have been nice. The weather was a little
warm. The kitchen was well supplied. Our stay was awesome
and I would recommend renting this property to anyone. We enjoyed
the Sea Galley Restaurant and recommend that visitors pay a
visit to the local zoo. Thank you for allowing our party the use of your home.
The house was spacious, but could use bigger beds. All of the rooms space to put at least a queen if not a king-size bed in. The house is a little outdated and the bathrooms were a little bit dirty and had black ants. The extra blankets need washing. It is a cute neighborhood overall, but the house itself looked unkept from the outside. It did have a big TV with cable and a large living room. Also good washer and dryer.
