Location, Location, Location just a short walk to the hub of town which affords vacationers with what the entire island has to offer! Beautiful beaches, great gift shops, local restaurants and picturesque views of the water from your choice of places to have lunch.

This turn of the century, rustic four bedroom home has updated amenities while keeping its original floor plan. Located just steps away from town you walk up to the inviting deck which leads you into the warmth of the enclosed sunroom. From here you enter into an open living/dining/kitchen area with original hardwood floors, flat screen television and plenty of room to be comfortable.

On this main level is also the updated kitchen, 2 full baths, one bedroom with a queen bed, a master suite with a queen bed and yet another full bath. Large private deck with outside shower off of the master suite makes it great for morning coffee or your own private entrance.

Upstairs are the other two bedrooms one with two twin beds and the other hosts a queen bed.

This house is fantastic for a large family or a group of friends to enjoy. With such close proximity to Town and the Beaches everyone has the ability to walk everywhere. Wake up early for a sunrise beach walk; grab a cup of coffee and a dozen bagels for your guest. Stroll to dinner and get ice cream afterwards; enjoy the sunset from the lawn at the Atlantic or the deck at Kittens.

Escape from it all with this conveniently located Block Island Vacation home and reconnect with family or friends. A place for your pet to enjoy too!

This home includes, cleaning, linens, garbage removal and beach supplies. Please note the linens and towels that are included in this rental, are the following: 3 queen set of sheets, & 2 twin sets of sheets, 8 bath towels which include 8 wash clothes and 4 hand towels, as well as, 8 beach towels. If you feel you may need more of any of the linens and towels please contact at your own expense

Great location close to town

This was our second time staying at the burgess house for annual our girls weekend, and this year was even better! The house has enough space for a group of 8 to spread out comfortably, with great common spaces. There were new beach chairs, and the deck now has an umbrella which was awesome. The weather for our weekend wasn’t great, so we spent more time indoors then we would have liked, but there was plenty of space to spread out. This beach house is quirky with tons of character. Hope to come back next year!

Thoroughly Enjoyable and Relaxing

Despite arriving a day late due to sea conditions, our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house. We had 8 adults and it was very comfortable. We look forward to renting this house again next year.

Nice location but somewhat deceiving

My family stayed here for one week in late August. Our experience was mixed. Daniel was gracious to call me before the visit to discuss the home and amenities. When we arrived to the home, I was happy with the location. It is a short 3 block walk (5 min) to the heart of the town. The inside of the home is well laid-out with nice furniture and mattress'. The home is well stocked. One disappointment was that there were two other small houses right next to the Burgess house (within 25 yards). You cannot tell this in the photos presented on the website. These homes do restrict the privacy I felt. Also, the home sits on a hill and it can be quite windy, especially at night. There is no good view of the ocean from the home. There are two grills present but one grill had only one of the three burners working, and the other grill was infested with bugs.

The home was not equipped with washcloths. We reached out to Daniel about this, and he said he would have his aunt bring them over (his aunt/uncle live in the adjacent home while Daniel lives in Virgin Islands). Unfortunately, his aunt never came over with the washcloths.

Finally, there was a day our family rode scooters around the island. We rode the scooters to the home and through the grass in the front of the home. Daniel's uncle saw us doing this and immediately called the police. Even though the scooters leave a mark in the grass similar to a bicycle, the police took our information and threatened to send us a bill for any damage to the property. It was very disappointing the uncle scared us by calling the police instead of speaking to us about the incident. Especially when no damage was observed.

Overall, it is a nice home, but Daniel lives in the Virgin Islands, and we did not appreciate his uncle's actions. In addition, I think the price is high for what you actually receive. The pictures and listed amenities on the website are somewhat deceiving.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback! The house is in one of the best locations on the island--right in the heart of everything. It does not allow for complete isolation like more remote locations on the island. I suppose it is a trade off--complete privacy versus location. I do my best to accommodate all guest requests and wishes. My sincerest apologies that we dropped the ball on delivering additional face towels. And although this rarely happens, I know it didn't help in your situation. We do require our guests to follow all local and state laws during their stay. Riding motorcycles on the property (and neighboring properties) cannot be permitted under any circumstance. I am happy that you enjoy the majority of your stay, and again I apologize for the inconveniences you experienced.

We have an amazing time staying at the Burgess House. All the kids, grandkids, and our dog stay comfortably. It's close to so many things. We walk everywhere. It's gives you a true island experience.

Block Island at its finest

This is a 5 star review as the property is as advertised. Location is ideal, full sun and great breezes and the beds are super comfortable. This is a highly recommended place to stay.

I stayed there 8/12-8/19 after a poor review had been posted and all I can say is that persons review is extremely suspect and unfortunate for such a special property. I will return.

The Burgess House, Circa 1791 is located on a family Farm with 3 other homes, 5 bungalows and a barn nestled around scenic Mill Pond. We are located in Old Harbor, a 5 Min WALK TO ALL FERRIES, TOWN & THE BEACH. Its the largest and most modern home on the property with strong WiFi, 5 large flatscreens with DirecTV. The home also has a newly renovated Kitchen and first master bedroom with en-suite glass shower, private deck overlooking the pond and an large enclosed outdoor shower.

This House rental is BINDING and NO REFUND will be given unless property is re-rented and a $500 fee will be assessed if the house is able to be re-booked.
The Pet fee is non refundable and subject to additional cleaning fee's is needed. Proper documentation required. All Vaccinations must be administered at least 48 hours prior to check in. Pets ARE TO BE LEASHED AT ALL TIMES WHEN OUTSIDE OF HOU
