A six star beautiful new home with great amenities

  • 5 of 5

Words cannot express the beauty of this home and the warmth of our hosts! The place is even more beautiful than what a photo can capture. The home is new, with all the modern amenities you need for a comfortable stay. It is located near accessible routes to explore many parts of Ireland. It is only 45 minutes from Dublin and close to the major highways for day trips. Waking up to the beautiful views made morning coffee a delight. My wife and 3 grown children found the home very spacious (3 large bedrooms and 2 beautiful full bathrooms). A plaque near the front door reads, "Enter as strangers, leave as friends" and this proved true for us. Thank you Pat and Una for your hospitality!

Hard to imagine how it could be better

  • 5 of 5

After concluding a six-week tour of much of western Europe, we can honestly say that this location was the best place we stayed, including hotels, B&B's and three other similar kinds of rentals. Pat and Una are charming and helpful, and the house is simply awesome. It's very clean, homey, well-stocked with modern appliances and has pretty much everything you need, including two bathrooms, TV's in just about every room, and a view of the Irish countryside that simply can't be beat. With only the two of us, it felt like we were in a mansion. A perfect place to bring kids as well, due to the multiple bedrooms and bathrooms and safe place to play outside, all situated behind an electric gate.

You certainly need a car, but if you're planning on touring more than Dublin, it's a perfect location. While you have more of a drive into the city than if you rented inside the city, it also puts you nearly an hour closer to many of the great attractions throughout Ireland.

I can't think of a single negative thing to say about it, unless you don't like cows, because part of the view from the window is the field on which a bunch of cows often graze. But there is no livestock smell or any negative whatsoever regarding that. It also features a beautiful white horse, a bunch of rabbits, and two friendly little dogs as well, and the dogs don't bother you at all unless you chase them down to give them a belly rub.

This is the kind of location that makes services like VRBO so compelling. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again no matter where we needed to be in Ireland.

A wonderful vacation in a wonderful location

  • 5 of 5

We've recently returned from our vacation and honestly don't have enough good things to say about this cottage. It's difficult for me to describe it as a cottage, as that word evokes cramped, dark and rustic, but this home is spacious, light and modern. It is simply a wonderful place to stay. While here we did most of our own cooking, and shopped in the very convenient town of Kilcullen. There is an excellent meat market there which was recommended to us by Pat and Una, as well as a grocery, and vegetable shop. If you don't feel like cooking during your vacation, there are also plenty of places to find tasty food. This home is really an exceptional place and lacks nothing. The view is utterly restful, the owners are friendly, kind and very helpful. There is excellent (secure!!!) internet service, for those who need it. All appliances function perfectly. The beds are comfortable, and the showers splendid. A car is required, but I would think a car would be required most anywhere outside of Dublin proper. This was an ideal place to stay, and we would happily stay here again; it is indeed an oasis of calm and serenity.

  • 5 of 5

The home is centrally located for sight seeing near Dublin, Kilkenny, and Wicklow Mtns. It is kept exceptionally clean, the beds are comfortable and the house is warm. It has very good internet, which is hard to find. Loved our stay here and would recommend it to anyone!

Great cottage and very responsive owners

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful location in the country but not far from the motorway. We had plenty of space for 2 adults and 4 young children. Pat & Una were very welcoming when we arrived and helped us get the lay of the land before we went into Dublin. They even helped us figure out where we were going to park in the city. We did a lot around the area so weren't in the cottage much, but could have spent time relaxing there as they had games for the children and space for the adults to get away from the children! The kids also really liked visiting Cappy the pony and the 2 dogs. We hope to be back in the future.

Owner's Response: We’re delighted you enjoyed your stay. We don't want our place to feel like just another hotel, so we've done our best to add some personal touches: fully-stocked kitchen with full-size appliances, blender, toaster, coffee maker; an array of dishes and saucepan’s, large TV's with built-in DVD players; comfortable, modern furniture with plush linens...among other things. Welcome home!

Very Welcoming

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful place to stay, the hosts were very accommodating putting the extra touches in the house to make it feel nice and welcoming. The beds are nice and comfortable. Having the TV' in all the rooms really helped when it was raining outside as all the kids got to watch their own programs, the place has a nice selection of DVD's for the kids to choose from. Also such wonderful views out the windows, made it a nice peaceful stay. For our first impression of Ireland it was a great start.
