|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
One level easy access, large outdoor living area with big covered all weather deck.
Hang out in the yard with the Tui's and the Wood Pigeons. It's a big yard that catches the sun all day, just follow it around or take cover under one of the many trees. Nice gardens with interesting features that attract the birds. Hills form a backdrop.
Take a short walk across to the big bay and wander around the vast sand hills to the river mouth. If it's fishing you are into the river is the place for you- its hard not to catch a fish. Whitebait galore in season. We have a fish cleaning area and outdoor shower.
Sunset beach is a leisurely 20 minute walk or 1 minute drive. Expansive beach with patrolled lifeguards in season. Surfing is not crowded and hassle free. The best sunsets!
Just an hour out of Auckland and you will be instantly rewarded with Port Waikato and all it has to offer. Plus this little house has everything you need for a getaway.
NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the house and do the dishes before you leave; Bring your own linen (towels/sheets/tea towels);
great yard for all to enjoy
Fabulous property for utter relaxation. 5 minutes walk from miles of sand dunes which seem to change daily in shape & size. Few mins drive from wild surf beach & fabulous cafe, plus the dairy and the wharf which is great for swimming around/jumping off. Definitely recommend this accommodation & location. Charming spot, great interior decoration and creative use of items in house i.e. beach wood for shelves, paddles for towel rail. Awesome, a true 'bach' feel :)
It was a wild, wet morning on arrival, and the heater warmed the house up quickly. The decor is cheerful and had everything we required. My niece enjoyed exploring the section and all the quirky art pieces dotted around. It is a peaceful location, and a great getaway for some down time.
A lovely warm batch, the most uniquely decorated place I have ever stayed, every time you look around you notice something more! We just loved it!!
It was so peaceful to hear the Tuis right outside our window.
Take your own fruit, as we didn't and at $1.20 per apple from the local store, we regretted it! Also Sylvias the restaurant is not open June-Sept, so either cook or we went out in Tuakau to watch the AB's rugby game.
Would recommend to anyone wanting a break, and just to chill out!
Awesome place to come and stay! Would recommend to anyone. Was second time staying and enjoyed just as much as first!
Port Waikato is a beautiful and peaceful location and this bach captures the essence of it all. The moment you enter the bach, you know you're on holiday.
We stayed here in winter and the house was very warm, especially the sleep-out! We also enjoyed having all our meals on the deck and listening to the tuis.
Really hope to come back again and for longer next time
Great bach with everything you could need. This was our second time staying, as we enjoyed it so much the first time. It was like being on a family retreat, with no internet, no phone, and no tv. A much needed rest from the stress and technology of life.
