SUNSET BACH is your basic comfortable kiwi bach. After renting favourite baches for many years, in owning our own getaway we wanted to offer a simple relaxed kind of place, which is affordable and will hopefully become a favourite for others.
The location is central to all of the fabulous beaches, wineries and cafes that Waiheke island has to offer. The bach is a 5 minute walk to the Surfdale shops which have a dairy, a new French café, Malone?s Irish pub and Stefanos pizza. A couple of minutes further walk and you are at Surfdale beach which is heavenly swimming at high tide. At one side of Surfdale beach is Hooks Bay, which is the 24/7 dog off leash beach.
The bach?s master bedroom features a super king bed and lovely valley views. The second bedroom has a queen bed. Both main beds are very comfortable good quality beds. The third bedroom features a child's single bed. In this room there is also a new camp bed, portacot, and highchair for use.
The deck off the lounge is lovely place to sit during the day and enjoy the sunshine and sea view, have an evening bbq or watch the magical evening sunsets. Turn the fairy lights on and enjoy the stillness at night.
We have a large prolific grapefruit tree in the back yard whose fruit makes beautiful grapefruit juice.
The Kent fireplace is a very cosy setting for a winter hibernation experience.
The front garden is fully fenced. Bus stop is close by. Pets are welcome on discussion.
Deck is suitable for small children with adult supervision.
TV is 19" size. Hairdryer provided.
Childrens toys, books and DVD's provided.
High chair, new camp bed and portacot provided.
Smoking outside only.
Cute batch, great deck and incredible views, close to surfdale shops. Only negative was the shower being a strong drizzle, but we managed just fine :)
Great location, lovely sunsets, wonderful bbq on the deck, comfy beds, great french cafe down the hill, and great for our little dog with a dog friendly beach only minutes away.
The location was just lovely. the bach was very restful and well set up for a relaxing stay.
A good place to stay. The property itself is basic, but provided you know that it is mostly fine. It needs some simple maintenance (e.g. windows that won't open properly), and would be much better for it. There was one thing that definitely needs to be fixed : the bedding. We were there in summer (February) and the only bedding was sheets and winter weight duvets. With duvet, far too hot. With just sheets, too cold. The bedding needs to match the season.
This is a comfy, cozy bach that worked well as a base for our group working on the island... Next time we come it will be for pleasure only!
