Bill & I built this very special carriage house vacation rental with YOU in mind. Based on over 36 years in the travel industry we created, what we believe, to be a very relaxing, private, serene, comfortable and tranquil getaway. You will love it here!
Ellie purchased this studio in 2010
Ellie was born and raised in Montana and her grandfather, Shadan Lahood, was instrumental to her living on the river. When she was a small girl she would take (what seemed like forever) the very long drive from Helena to LaHood Park...about 60 miles and has now created what Ellie calls a modern day LaHood Park on the Missouri river. AKA : The 'Hideaway.'
Our carriage house caters to a romantic getaway. Most of our guests visit us for a special occasion eg: Anniversaries, engagements, birthdays, honeymooners and couples that are just reconnecting. We are rural and away from it all on the Missouri river. We welcome small weddings, vow renewals and elopements.
We truly enjoyed our stay at your "hideaway!" You've done a great job making it comfortable and inviting. Our daughter gave us a couple nights stay here for our Christmas gift. We got to spend New Year's Eve here in 2016. Thank you for your hospitality. We also enjoyed the views and photographing the area.
My husband is a Pastor and we have learned how important it is to get away and refresh to help have the energy and ability to pour into others. Staying at The Hideaway provided just the rest and relaxation that we needed. The Hidaway is adorable, layed out well, and decorated in a soothing and relaxing manner. The special touches our hosts provided (great soaps, fresh flowers, teas, etc...) blessed us tremendously and showed they truly care about their guests having a blessed and special time. The location is private and right on the river providing a beautiful view. We enjoyed just sitting and talking or reading on the loveseat that looked out to the mountains and river. It is so quiet (besides the trains in the distance which we loved) and the perfect place to clear your head from all the noise of the city and noise of life in general. It's a great place to quiet your heart, remove distractions, and hear from God.
The bed is AWESOME. I have never been somewhere where I wasn't looking forward to returning to my own bed.
If you are waivering on whether or not to stay at The HideAway....do it! It will be such a blessing. Words can't describe it...
The photos of this rental are exactly what you find - and then you experience "more"... every detail is well thought out for style and comfort! From the welcome basket goodies, water and candy at bedside, and relaxing/restful color scheme and decor. The property is gorgeous, inside and out pristine and very well-maintained. Owners, Ellie and Bill, are gracious and friendly. This week was the perfect break needed to sit on the deck enjoying the river and views - we could not have asked for more!
BILL AND ELLIE ARE SO GREAT. THIS WAS OUR SECOUND TRIP THERE ALL THE WAY FROM INDIANA. WHAT A GREAT TIME. THE HIDWAY IS SO CLEAN AND ELLIE HAS EVERYTHING YOU WOULD WANT. WE STAYED FOR A WEEK BOTH TIMES AND COULD NOT HAVE BEEN HAPPIER. WILL BE MAKING OUR THIRD TRIP IN THE FUTURE. GREAT PLACES TO EAT AND HIKE. FISHING IS THE BEST THE RIVERS ARE JUST SO BEAUTIFUL. YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED IN THE HIDEAWAY MIKE AND NANCY
This is a very nicely appointed studio apartment. It is really new construction and all of the appliances are modern. The grounds are immaculately maintained and the gardening is very attractive. Ellie & Bill are extremely nice owners that will go the extra mile to help - Ellie did some great research for us regarding local fishing guides! We really enjoyed our extended stay at The Hideaway.
The firepit area is private and there is a really sweet deck located halfway down to the river that is wonderful for star gazing on a clear night.
Toston is not really a going concern these days, but Townsend and Three Forks are within a 20 minute drive. Three Forks is quite nice and Townsend also has all the services that you might need.
One caution, we were a bit surprised to find that this "Carriage House" is actually attached to the owner's home. They have done a good job of making it feel private but it was a bit of a surprise when we first arrived.
My wife and I spent four nights here in mid August. This is a great place to get away from it all. Very quite and with the Missouri River at your footstep there is always something to see as you relax from the outside patio of this cottage. The cottage is absolutely beautiful and I thought must have been appointed by a high priced designer but found our host, Ellie had done it herself. The pictures in the listing are accurate and not touched up. The bathroom is huge. You have a king size bed a two person eating table and a really comfortable living room with a fireplace. The furniture is top quality and the wood working is some of the best I have ever seen. Kitchen is well supplied and you actually have a full sized washer and dryer.
Bill and Ellie your hosts and owners are wonderful people who take pride in the cottage, their house and property. But most of all they are warm and inviting people who do every thing to make sure your stay is great experience. We highly recommend this property.
This is a lovely, well-appointed studio apartment that is attached to the owner's home, separated from it by a garage. It has private front and and back entrances, a porch with a privacy screen on the owner's side, and lovely landscaping (still a bit in progress) on the other side, creating a kind of large garden and outdoor living space for the apartment. The house and apartment are in a small development along the Missouri River. The apartment's river frontage includes a little terrace above the river with table and chairs. Stairs go down to a rock walkway at the top of the river bank. It is very peaceful to sit in any of the outdoor spaces. We saw deer, rabbits, ground squirrels, pelicans and a range of other water birds. There is currently no river access from the apartment's frontage (very steep, very brushy banks), though it appears that you might be able to get to the river from the owner's back yard. The property is 20-30 minutes from the two nearest towns, both of which have servicable grocery stores and a few restaurants. In the mountains nearby (nearby for Montana!) there is some beautiful hiking, including Crow Creek Falls.
We are located on the Missouri River between Bozeman and Helena in a very quiet, serene & rural location. Bozeman Gallatin airport is located just 43 miles away, Helena regional airport is 45 miles and Butte is only 64 miles.
Other Activities: We spent last summer exploring Yellowstone National Park, touring the Lewis & Clark caverns, floating/fishing the river, riding the tour train in Helena, MT, shopping in Ennis, MT, hiking the mountains in the area and soaking in some of the best hot springs around. And our favorite was trying out some of the best little unknown restaurants within an easy drive of the Hideaway. Some of our favorite's are: Pompey's Grill, Sacajawea Bar, Willow Creek Restaurant and LaHood Park Cafe.
Golf: Our nearest Golf course is just 20 miles away in a quaint Montana town of Three Forks.
Ski: We prefer skiing the local mountains such as the Great Divide~Helena, Showdown~Niehart, Discovery~Anaconda and Bridger~Bozeman. If you prefer a more resort style skiing experience Big Sky Ski & Resort is just an hour and half drive!
