Cosy Cottage on a lifestyle property, surrounded by extensive forest and bush reserves. Very peaceful. It's a great place to just 'be' or explore the many attractions in the Ruapehu District. 15 km north of Taumarunui.
Visitors to the Ruapehu District mostly come for the abundance of nature and variety of activities on offer. Close to Lake Taupo, Pureora Forest, Forgotten Highway, canoeing, jet boating, tramping, Mountains (Ruapehu, Tongariro, Ngarahoe) and the new Timber Trail mountain bike trail near Ongarue/Waimiha as well as the 42 Traverse and Montains to Sea bike trails.
Renovated cottage (approx. 64m2). Comfortable. Self contained with basic amenities. Separate double bedroom, kitchen and open plan living/dining area.
Most suitable for 2 but could sleep 4 (comfy sofa bed in the lounge). Open fire in the lounge and a pot belly stove in kitchen area. Electric hotplate, small fridge, kettle, toaster and coffee perculator, pots/pans and utensils etc provided. You can cater for yourself or we are happy to organise some meals for you on request (special diets can be catered for).
Expect peace and quiet. Read a book, have a drink, good conversation. Relax! Walking and tramping, mountain biking etc off the doorstep! Very limited cell coverage, no TV and no internet in cottage.
Isolated setting, yet so close to everything that matters! Great! Get back to real life!
There's so much to do and see around here, that most people that stayed in cottage wished they'd booked for longer...
Pets may be accepted by prior arrangement.
Pricing $145 per night for double bed for two, and $20 per extra person, or animal.

The location is very idyllic, we loved the feel of the old renovated cottage.
The fire place and potbelly kept us nice and warm.
We would love to come back another time and explore the area a bit more.
I wish we could stay longer!
Great place to unwind and relax!
