|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
This home frontage is in the Pacific Ocean at high tide.
Situated on the southern side of the northern arm,
of North /Moana Cove, on Kawau Island. North Facing.
The jetty, attached to the house, can be used for arrivals and departures approximately one to two hours either side of the high tide. It would be advisable to co-ordinate the tide and the ferry for arrivals and departures.
Our neighbour, Dave Jeffrey's operates a boat service between Sandspit and Kawau. Dave is also available, (on most occasions) for drop off and pick ups, on other parts of the Island, for a small fee. We are happy to assist you with your getting to and fro, as we are dependent on tides....
We have a maximum of four guests at any one time. Take advantage of our winter special till the 31 Aug 2016. Only $99 per night, (Instead of $120), for first two adults. Extra adults (up to two), are $15 each. If the extra one or two are children, (but not toddlers), who are 15 or under, they are free.
Please Note. The upper deck is not suitable for toddlers,
If you are arriving by your own water transport, please be aware of the tidal nature of Moana Cove. We have a mooring for your boat. Please let us know.
Have a look at kawawisland org. A very informative website If you would like to know more about the Island. Also look on 'You Tube', at "Briars suprise birthday trip to Kawau Island'. Thanks to Matt and Briar.
Once there, you are virtually in another time and place. There are walking tracks up to the ridge behind the house, then along the ridge to Vivian Bay and beyond.
Just feel and soak up the peace and the quiet, and completely forget about whatever it was that bothered you in Auckland. Listen to the sound of the tui's, wood pigeons, weka's, seagulls, and the odd distant call of the kookaburras. Feed the sprats off the balcony at high tide, and watch the stingrays glide up the cove and back with the ebb and flow of the tide.
No smoking inside. Outside tolerated, but please be careful.
Total respect for our neighbours at all times!
Please leave the place as you would expect to find it. We have attempted to price the offering on a 'guest clean up basis' to eliminate any cleaning fees for the stay
Please do not use any of the other jettys on the Island, (except in emergencies), as they are all privately owned, and respect for this fact, is valued and appreciated.
NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the house and do the dishes before you leave; Bring your own linen (towels/sheets/tea towels);
Clean and comfortable
Wonderful, comfortable place to stay. Plenty to do or just relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. Just make sure you arrive at high tide ??
Really lovely location, with everything you need to have a lovely holiday. Kitchen is equipped with everything you might need and all the instructions to find everything were great.
Piece of heaven .Couldn't be any closer to the water.
So serene. Amazing spot.
Joie_de_Vivre a French phrase often used in English to express a cheerful enjoyment of life, I cant say it better myself. This place is a peace of Nz paradise we will defiantly be heading back in the not so distant future, I have a very stress full job and going to Kawau has reset my mind and soul very very beautiful place with the sound of Tui's as your alarm clock absolutely amazing A+ location.
Very tranquil position with the water right on your doorstep. Rustic amenities and a tiny bit tricky to get to, (having to work with tides) but well worth it if you're after a complete escape.
The peace and tranquility found at this bach is unmatched. Highly recomended!
