Romantic, rustic Shepherds Hut on 850 acre farm in the beautiful Takamatua Valley. Only minutes by car from the historic French village of Akaroa with its many cafes, restaurants, shops and water activities. Walk the hills strewn with native trees and bush, stunning views out to sea, abundant birdlife, waterfall and creeks. The Hut is private yet close to historic farmhouse built in 1898 for the Mora family. The Shepherds hut has been restored with modern comforts, but retaining all the charm of yesteryear.

Stunning place to stay. In the country but very close to Akaroa. Was peaceful and very relaxing. Outdoor bath was great. Hut was nice and cosy and warm. Beautiful robes were s bonus to. Amazing breakfast with bacon and eggs delicious cereal, fruit, yoghurt and fruit. Biscuits and tea range was a great touch. Owners were great and left us to it but we're welcoming to go and see them if we needed anything. Prefect we retreat. Would definitely come back and recommend to family and friends.
Fantastic location, very close to Akaroa, very private and peaceful.
Fantastic weekend thank you. Great property and great hosts - we will be back
Loved it, have already recommended it to friends and would love to return and spend longer next time.
The property was exactly what we expected as a cousin had staid there a couple of years ago and had raved about. next time were in Akaroa we will want to stay there as it was peaceful and delightful no vehicle noise just babbling brook, birds and farm animals
