About the property

Bach or holiday home, 1 Bedrooms, 1 Bathrooms, (Sleeps 2)

Tucked away in six acres of native New Zealand bush, Nikau Cottage provides the most private and secluded eco-accommodation you could wish for. Nikau Cottage captures the essence of a New Zealand experience. Relaxed, peaceful, a perfect retreat to enjoy the presence of your loved one.

Nikau Cottage has a real "treetops" feel with the loft bedroom nestled amidst native Kanuka, Totara, Tree Ferns and, of course, Nikau Palms. View the stars from the heated, pure rain water hot tub at night. Sleep to the call of the Morepork Owl and awake to the beautiful sound of the Tui. It's also the perfect stopover to, or from, the Bay of Islands.

Nikau Cottage is suitable for those seeking peace and tranquillity and an opportunity to discover and enjoy New Zealand's semi-subtropical Northland region.

The many fine beaches, golf course and villages are all accessible within 5-15 minutes drive by car.

Special conditions:

2 night minimum booking required.

3 night minimum booking required over Christmas, Easter, Labour, Anniversary and Waitangi Weekends.

A garbage bin and recycle bin are provided outside the cottage for

placement of all rubbish. Please remember this is a peaceful location

and that excessive noise will not be permitted. We ask, as a matter of

courtesy, that the property is left in a clean and tidy state (including

washing dishes and cleaning BBQ).

Extras: Cleaning, Hi Speed WiFi, Consumables (Required, NZ$50.00 per stay); Linen (included); NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the house and do the dishes before you leave;

What a magical place, the setting, the property, the house.

What a magical place, the setting, the property, the house. It was the perfect place to propose, I only realised this would be the place once we got there! We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful getaway. Te Arai Point is a must, great waves but a beautiful sheltered mini lagoon if you're wanting something calmer, also a great spot for a few bombs off the rocks.

PS. Highly recommend turning on the stereo to the FM presets, the music was an excellent accompaniment to our stay.

The property is situated a 10 min drive (if that) into Mangawhai village making it very convenient and easy to get anything you may need. The cottage itself is surrounded by beautiful native bush, yet still gets plenty of sunlight.
