Welcome to Highbury Cottage, our warm and inviting self contained house nestled in the heart of New Zealand's wine country, Martinborough, in the Wairarapa.
On arrival you will find three luxurious bedrooms (two queen size and two single beds), a newly renovated bathroom with claw foot bath, separate shower and toilet, and an ensuite off the main bedroom with separate shower and toilet.
The living areas have a good size open plan lounge (with a log fire) leading to the dining area and new kitchen with all the conveniences of home.
The Martinborough village square is only a short stroll away. There you will find a selection of restaurants, cafes, galleries and boutique shops. The restaurants and cafes of Martinborough can provide you with fabulous local fare from breakfast to dinner, and of course award winning local wines can be found everywhere
Many of the Vineyards, and the local Golf Course are only a short drive, walk or cycle away and there are many walking tracks offering dramatic views over the countryside.
A little further out, you can go quad biking, clay shooting or take a leisurely trip to the south coast for a spot of fishing. Alternatively you can simply relax on the deck and enjoy a BBQ in the sun.
Minimum rates apply to peak and event weekends. Highchair and Portacot are available on request.
Great property to stay at, lovely and warm and quiet. The main shower flooded a bit but the bath was lovely.
Very pretty cottage, lovely community would go back and stay there
Lovely cottage - very well equipped - electric blankets on the beds so warm and toasty - but would be good to have the option of another blanket when it gets colder rather than just using the electric blanket.
Fantastic location! House was clean and tidy, with almost everything you could need in a holiday house without feeling cluttered. Is very cute and cosy and has a fireplace for winter and lots of doors/windows for the summer. It has modern bathrooms, with two of the three bedrooms opening onto a deck. Only comment would be that we would of liked more towels/linen for a 3 night stay and a shelf in the ensuite to put items on. Otherwise highly recommend!
The property was lovely and clean and bigger than we were expecting, even the grounds were a good size. It was easy walking distant to the Square and I have already recommended it to friends of ours. Thank you very much and we would stay there again. PS The little fire was amazing and threw out the heat very quickly.
