Photos and Description of this Eastham holiday house

Spacious 5 bedroom, 2 bath on ocean side of town on quiet, wooded, cul-de-sac

Our ocean side 5 bedroom, 2 bathroom Eastham home is located on a quiet woodsy cul-de-sac near the Salt Pond Visitor Center of the National Seashore. The house sleeps nine and will comfortably accommodate everyone. The first floor has a queen bedroom with hardwood floors, a living room, a large open kitchen and dining room, plus a full bathroom with a washer and dryer. The second floor includes a large room with two twin beds, a smaller room with 1 twin bed, two bedrooms with a full bed in each, and a spacious bathroom. The home is decorated with original artwork by the owner's mother and others. There is a large wrap-around deck with a picnic table and lounge chairs where you can enjoy the 1/2 acre wooded property, a gas grill, an outdoor shower and a circular drive with plenty of parking. There is room for kids (and grown-ups!) to play.

Just steps from the National Seashore, we are a few minutes drive to either Coast Guard Beach or Nauset Light Beach. The ocean beach can also be reached by bike, a 30 minute walk, or a short shuttle ride. The Doane Rock Shuttle bus is accessible by a safe 10 minute walk on a path through the woods. We are convenient to Wellfleet, Provincetown, Orleans, the Cape Cod Bike Trail and the bay beaches and fresh water ponds of Eastham.

The house is perfect for multiple families or multiple generations. We’ve included a portable fold-out mattress for more flexibility in your sleeping arrangements. Enjoy a day at the beach, come home to your outdoor shower, and then relax on the deck before going to the nearby drive-in movie theater, a round of mini golf, or a delicious seafood dinner.

About Jose Polanco

Sharli and Jose dreamed of a home on the Outer Cape for years. Sharli spent her childhood in Wellfleet and Provincetown swimming in kettle ponds, exploring the dunes in Provincetown, and beachcombing on the bay. After falling in love with Sharli, Jose was lured by the rugged beauty of the Cape. They enjoy visiting multiple times a year with their two boys.

Jose Polanco purchased this house in 2013

Why Jose Polanco chose Cape Cod

The house is set back from the street and surrounded by peaceful trees. We love being so close to the National Seashore and the Salt Pond Visitor Center. Provincetown is a short 20 min drive.

What makes this house unique

We love being close to the National Seashore. The views at Coast Guard Beach are incredible!

Excellent

  • 5 of 5

The house and deck worked out perfectly for 6 adults and 3 children. The kitchen was well stocked with all the necessities and was easy to work in. The closet full of toys and games was a big hit. The washer and dryer was conveniently located. All the beds were comfortable. The location was superb, convenient to all beaches and route 6A. It was the perfect vacation house for us and we would love to come again.

We really enjoy this wonderful home!

  • 5 of 5

We so enjoy your beautiful, immaculately cared for home! It is so comfortable with our needs met, as well as an AMAZING location (so close to the beach shuttle and easy access to Rt. 6) for an awesome vacation! The bedrooms work out great, we love all the fans provided (we really needed them this year!), 2 huge bathrooms, and the 1st floor laundry is such a plus! We cook many of our own meals, because that is what we enjoy doing, so the new grill was great and the kitchen is fully stocked with pans and utensils. We also want to say that we really appreciate your "welcome bucket" with dishwasher and laundry detergents among all the other little things! The fresh paint on the huge deck looks great, very inviting, we spent so much of our time there! Jose and Sharli, your home is wonderful, comfortable, and inviting!!! We are definitely hoping to be back next year! Thank you so much for thinking of everything and being such a pleasure to work with!!

Wonderful rental in beautiful Eastham!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of six has stayed in Eastham for the past fifteen years and this rental was among the very best. To begin, it's on the ocean side of Eastham making it exceedingly easy to hit the beach early and often, and if you're a lover of the National Seashore as we are, you'll definitely appreciate the proximity. In fact, if you choose, you can easily take a short jaunt through the woods to catch the shuttle to Coast Guard Beach--one of the best beaches in the country!---or drive there in two minutes and park. The home itself had more room than we needed and it's perfectly arranged to ensure both community and privacy. Their back deck was a favorite place to read, eat, talk, and catch some sun. There's even a hammock hanging between two trees. The home is nicely outfitted, and includes everything you'll need, but it is also welcoming and feels like home. The owner is thoughtful and attentive and makes every effort to ensure that you will enjoy your stay as much as we did. Don't hesitate to rent this property: you'll love it!

HIGHLY recommend

  • 5 of 5

What a BEAUTIFUL house. A couple of my friends and I went for a golf trip, and we have never been to Eastham. This house was awesome! It slept all of us, and it was close to nice venues! The owners provided great service, checking in on us to see if we got into the house. We played golf at Captains Golf Course, which was about 20 mins away, and then we went to the Beachcomber at Wellfleet, again which was about 20 mins away.

I would highly recommend that you all stay here! Thanks again!

Large, comfortable, extremely clean vacation home!

  • 5 of 5

Three generations of our family stayed in this lovely, well appointed, very clean home over the long Columbus Day weekend. Grandma and Grandpa stayed in the 1st floor master bedroom with a very comfortable mattress. The first floor bath is very spacious and located next to the master bedroom. This left 4 good size bedrooms and a huge bath on the second floor for the rest of the family. The property was definitely as described on line and extremely clean! I am severely allergic to dust and had no trouble at all in this home.

The home is recessed off the street in the woods, very private, and very quiet, yet not far from the grocery store, restaurants and beaches. Our family had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this home to other vacationers! Thank you to Jose and Sharli for letting us rent their vacation get away.

Map

Car: recommended

'Cape Cod's Little Secret' (The New York Times) and 'Gateway to the National Seashore', Eastham is still considered a small town (population just under 5000) and is more quiet than most Cape towns. Eastham beaches offer gentle surf, soft sand, warm water and a beach that changes in appearance every few hours. An inlet on the bay, Eastham is home to the Cape's warmest water, thanks to shoreline stretching into the bay during low tide. Sandbars are heated by the sun in low tide and as the tide rolls in, the water heats up over the warm sand. Low tide is a great time to relax and read, while kids hunt for hermit crabs, minnows and other beach creatures in the clean, warm water tide pools. At high tide, Eastham beaches change completely, offering gentle surf and warm water, excellent swimming and kayaking. Very gradual elevation changes make an easy and safe water entry and exit for little ones.

Cape Cod National Seashore: The great “Outer Beach” of the Cape Cod National Seashore, on the ocean side of the lower Cape, is a protected beach within the National Seashore. Forty miles of pristine sandy beach, marshes, ponds, and uplands support diverse species from Orleans and Chatham to Provincetown. The surf might be a bit higher and the water is a bit cooler, but the scenery is fantastic, offering glimpses of sand dunes, lighthouses, landscapes, and wild cranberry bogs. The National Seashore includes six swimming beaches, 11 self-guided nature trails, picnic areas and scenic overlooks. Eastham beaches feature full bathhouses and changing areas.

Activities: Nearby you will find: biking, golf, fishing, whale watching, drive-in movie, flea markets, shopping, art galleries, miniature golf, hiking, kayaking, Audubon Center, Salt Pond Visitor's Center, Rock Harbor and more...most less than 5 minutes away!

Swimming: All Town Beaches on the bay with summer water temperature 60-70 F and ice cream truck frequent visits are ideal for young children.

Herring Pond (beautiful clean freshwater pond with sandy beach and public parking) - 1.1 miles, 4 min drive, 20 min walk.

Biking: Cape Cod Rail Trail is just 0.5 mile from the house, 4 minutes by bike

Hiking: The National Seashore offers plenty of self-guided walks in Eastham and in nearby towns. Most are easy enough for young children.

Birding: The National Seashore is a great place to see shore birds, and the Audobon Center in Wellfleet is only a few miles down Rt. 6.
