Cycladic Villa 270m2 with two outside, stone terraced areas both offering panoramic sea and sunset views with swimming pool, barbecue, sunbeds and comfortable seating areas for a luxurious and relaxing holiday in the sun on the most popular island in Greece. The villa is at one of the most sought after locations due to the wind protection and excellent sunset views it offers.
Large, fully equipped kitchen, living and dining room with picture windows offering panoramic sea views, fireplace and doors leading directly to private pool terrace, guest bathroom with shower, one double bedroom with walk in closet, bathroom en suite and doors also leading to the pool terrace.
One double bedroom with unique en suite bathroom with massage wall shower and private, spacious balcony with magical sea view.
Two twin bedrooms, both with en suite bathrooms and doors leading to lower terrace area.
The house is situated on a bluff with a great view of the sea and distant islands. The outdoor space is perfect from dining to sunning. However, the outdoor couch has seen much better days.
Inside, the house is nicely done with 4 bedrooms, each with its own bathrooms. Without air conditioning, we left our doors open the first night but got eaten alive by mosquitos. The next day a friend discovered the screens in the doors that are a bit hidden. After that no mosquitos, but it was hot on two nights. Also the humidity makes clothes and sheets a bit damp.
The other issue was the salt in the water. We washed a load of dark shirts and they all dried with streaks of salt. There is no dryer, so it is all air dried which also takes some time with the humidity. The dishwasher was not cleaning dishes either. We tried three cycles but they never came out clean.
Overall, the house was fine but there were little things that did not work or needed to be replaced.
On a positive note, Chris, the manager, could not have been more attentive and responsive. We appreciated all that Chris took care of, from car to local pick ups to food shopping to restaurant reservations. Chris' recommendation for a caterer for a dinner party for 15 was spot on.
We would consider returning to this house if it had air conditioning and the salt in the water issue was fixed.
Also know that if you are internet dependent, it does go out on a fairly regular basis. That happens on the entire Island, not only at this house. It is a regular discussion topic when you meet other people.
Katerina's villa is lovely and spacious with great attention to detail. The rooms are well decorated and clean. The pool and patio with the view of the sea is breathtaking. Guests need to understand that the villa is a good 20 minutes from town and there is no public transportation. You must either rent a car or rely on Katerina's handyman to take you to and from wherever you want to go at a steep rate. While he was extraordinarily helpful, his English is limited which caused some interesting conversations while travelling to and from town.
The villa is situation in a great spot on a hill and has a panoramic view of the sea and sunsets. It is lovely to sit and watch the boats go in and out of the harbour, especially as the sun goes down.
Mykonos Town is about a 15 minute drive away so we stayed for dinner some days at the villa, and some days we went to town. On one night Katerina organised for a chef to come and cook a BBQ for us which was fantastic.
There were a few minor problems over our stay, but as with everything else, Katerina was so helpful and they were all quickly fixed with no fuss. This was even at a time when the political situation in Greece was very uncertain.
At the end of our trip Katerina went out of her way to organise for our security deposit to be returned, as the banking restrictions had made this very difficult.
Thank you! I would love to come and stay again.
Katerina, the owner of the property is an absolutely amazing host. She was available from the time of booking until the time we arrived Mykonos as a first time vacationer in Greece and using home away, she walked me through the booking process, gave us recommendations on yacht and car rentals. She even organized auto rentals on our behalf and was waiting for us at the airport. She would often visit to see if we needed anything and was never more than a text message or phone call away to accommodate all of our needs.
The house itself is absolutely wonderful we were 6 so we fit very very comfortably with each of us taking our own bedrooms and full (gorgeous, large) bathrooms for all as well. It is decorated in a perfect beach/greek chic minimalist style with of course the all white cement signature, you can tell there was thought put into decorating and the quality of a lot of the items..
The kitchen is large for cooking and there is a TV room with a flat screen TV and music system to plug into. The best bedrooms are the one on the main floor that walks out onto the pool as well as the master upstairs with its own private Terrace.
Outside is WAY more unbelievable than it looks in pictures, the pool is double the size we thought it would be and there are so many little nooks to hang out in, we stayed mostly in the outdoor living room area with over sized couches overlooking the pool. There were no shortage of places to take the sun with multiple levels of outdoor space. I watched the sunset every night and it was probably the most breathtaking sunset I have ever seen! Absolutely unreal. I can't wait to visit again next summer!
The Villa is exactly like the pictures and was clean and well equipped. The terrace and the swimming pool are fantastic for kids and grown ups. The view is amazing at every our of the day. The owner was very caring and nice, providing adresses and tips about the island and surroundings. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family.
