Cool place in a cool area
We rented the entire house for a family celebration. Easily fit everyone. Consistent compliments on the house from all in attendance. Old timey and modern at the same time. Terrific
Perfect for our work retreat
This location and housing was perfect for our work retreat. Great space to connect inside and out as well as a variety of bedroom configurations. Dave was readily available for all our questions and gave us a great environment to connect as a group. Only a few blocks to the lake and many fun shops/restaurants nearby.
It is a beautiful property! The front porch (along with it's absence of mosquitoes) made for enjoyable evenings. The walkability of the location simply cannot be beat! If there was a downside, I'd say it was the carpeting in the upstairs rooms (up the more narrow staircase) as these rooms seemed to have a musty smell to them. The only other thing (and it is a minor one) was that on the upper balcony, there was a full/dirty ashtray that had then filled with rainwater.
Perfect place to see the town and the lake
Right in the heart of historic Excelsior, this beautiful property has 7 bedrooms. We rented the entire house, which we needed, to have an additional refrigerator, and a "public" space where people could go to watch TV. We would have liked showers in all the bathrooms, but otherwise the home had everything we needed for a great family reunion. We would love to return sometime!
Thanks for staying with us and thanks for the great review! We are working on all the bathrooms - three done in the last couple years and and two to go, with the next scheduled for September, 2019. Then just one more to go - probably early 2020.
Perfect location for a Family reunion
Organizing a family reunion at the Bird House Inn was very easy with David's recommendations on how to arrange the rooms to suit our family structure. We really enjoyed having the entire house with use of the kitchen so we could make our own meals. Being able to rent tables and chairs was also a tremendous asset.
Great having you here - and thanks for leaving things in such good shape! Hope to see you here again some time!
