Photos and Description of this Rockport holiday house

4 Bedroom, 3 Bathrooms, Sleeps 10

Gull Cove House is a bright, cheerful, roomy, and relaxing waterfront vacation rental home in the scenic New England coastal town of Rockport, MA. Sleeping up to 10, the house has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and stunning ocean views. We typically rent on a weekly basis (Saturday to Saturday).

The house offers dozens of amenities for comfort and entertainment: a stunning deck with patio furniture and grill; central air conditioning; collection of games; cable TV; and wireless internet. With a spacious living area, cozy sunroom, library with television and DVD player, dining area, breakfast bar, and well-equipped kitchen.

Rockport is a charming seaside community on the tip of Cape Ann, the prettiest coastal area in Massachusetts. The town has miles of coastline, several beaches, walking trails along the water and through forest, a classic New England harbor with renowned Motif No. 1 at its center, and quaint Bearskin Neck with cozy cafes, seafood restaurants, and a thriving artist community with many galleries. Though the setting is tranquil, the location is also convenient. It's just an 15- minute walk to Rockport center; an 10-minute walk to Front Beach; a short drive to several larger beaches; and 3/4 mile to Rockport's train station with regular 1-hour train service to Boston.

About Mark & Dawn Atkinson

Mark grew up in Rockport and Dawn in nearby Ipswich, MA. After completion of college and graduate school, they pulled up stakes and moved to the West Coast. However in 2012, after 16 years in California, Mark & Dawn realized that they wanted to move back to their roots. And while they admit to missing the weather and wine of the Bay Area, they haven't regretted the decision. Rockport is one of a kind. Between its combination of history, culture, scenery, activities, and small town New England sensibility, it is a truly unique place to visit, and especially live.

Dawn & Mark have two terriers and two high-school students, the later of which are better behaved than the former.

What makes this house unique

Gull Cove offers a well-appointed house that can host large or extended families. With an open floor plan and large deck, it is a perfect location to relax and enjoy family and friends. It is also conveniently located in walking distance to down town Rockport which includes beaches, restaurants, and local stores and artists.

Our property offers direct and panoramic views of the coast of Cape Ann. It also over-looks a working harbor that is the home to both recreational and professional fisherman. Whether it's nautical activity, or the changing light, there is always something to enjoy watching.

Happy Special Place

  • 5 of 5

We had a winderful trip to Rockport and Gull Cove house. The house is beautiful; with fantastic views, filled with light and space and just very easy and peaceful. The walk to front beach is nice and not too far even with kids the house has a lot of room to move and the views are beyond spectacular. The owners were friendly, helpful but gave us our space as well. Couldn't recommend the house more highly. Love it and hope to come back

If all customer service was performed at the level that Mark and Dawn provide, the world would be a better place. They are so welcoming, accommodating, flexible, and maintain the property to the highest standards. They do all they can to ensure your stay is enjoyable and without stress, and take care of all your needs. The property is beautiful and provides a gorgeous view of Rockport and the ocean. The house accommodates a large group extremely well, is clean, comfortable and is highly recommended!

Perfect in every way

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for us -- six adults and our 2 and a half-year old granddaughter. We had gotten together to celebrate my wife's 70th birthday. We only had the week-end so I feel lucky that Mark let us rent for just two nights -- I think he took pity on me, but perhaps we lucked out because the house was newly on the market, hadn't been discovered yet and it was early in the season. The location was great. We made numerous walks down to the granite pier and we also walked to the town beaches and restaurants on Bear Skin Neck which are close. We cooked on the excellent gas grill the first night, ate breakfasts in the house and all other meals out in Rockport and Gloucester. The house is spacious, fully-equipped, clean as a whistle and comfortable. Mark and Dawn could not have been more pleasant and accommodating. We would absolutely recommend this house to relatives and friends.

Beautifully decorated with stunning views.

  • 5 of 5

We were more than pleased with this home. When we walked in we saw sweeping views of the Atlantic; it was perfectly decorated with just the right amount of furniture given the size of the home. There wasn't anything we needed that wasn't already there. The beds were extremely comfortable, the linens and towels were impeccable. We hosted a lovely dinner party starting the evening with cocktails outside on the patio and then moved inside for dinner. Our guests were over enjoyed by the beauty of the location and the grand yet warmth of the home. The owners, Mark and Dawn, I just cannot say enough about. They are flexible, accommodating, gracious, and just some of the nicest people I have ever met. We had our hearts set on having a fire in chiminea on the patio, when I inquired about the one we saw in the pictures on Homeaway, they apologize for the missing chiminea and delivered a brand new one the following morning. My last thoughts; our time at this lovely home was a family gathering, and we had family members ranging in age from one month, 6 years, to, well, I just can't tell you my age but, old. this being said, having soundproof rooms were important for getting a good night's sleep, which we indeed did have. To say that I would return is an understatement, I would return with all of my worldly possessions and never leave! So, in conclusion I don't wish you a wonderful stay, I will tell you that by virtue of all that this home has, you WILL have a beautiful and memorable vacation.

Perfect place to enjoy the beach

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house for a girls weekend. Finding anything that 10 women agree on is difficult, but everyone overwhelmingly agreed this place was perfect. The interior was beautiful and spacious, and the views were stunning. Whether eating dinner, relaxing inside, or enjoying the deck, this place is the perfect retreat with plenty of privacy. The location was convenient to downtown, beaches, and parks. The house had everything we needed and would be perfect for a multi-family vacation as well. Mark and Dawn were wonderful to work with. I highly recommend this beautiful place and hope to come again soon.
