Photos and Description of this Old North End holiday cottage

1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 2

Carpe Diem, “La casa piú piccola di Burlington,” is a charming tiny cottage with an expansive view of Lake Champlain all day, and of its wonderful extended sunsets at day’s end. At 13 ft. x 18.6 ft., Carpe Diem is about three times the size of the main cabin on a 70-foot sailboat cruising by on the lake below you and includes radiant heat flooring, a fully equipped kitchen, full size bed, private bath and a garden at your doorstep.

This converted historic garage stands apart from the main house, and offers the same knowledgeable, friendly hospitality that has made One Of A Kind B+B true to its name and a constantly popular Burlington homestay.

This restored and restorative retreat is available for day, weekend, week-long or month-to-month stays.

Extended stay rates on request.

Suitability:
  • non smoking only

Tiny and comfortable for 2. Great location, walking distance to shopping and restaurants and the waterfront. Spectacular view of Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks. Great outdoor space for cocktails and sunset or morning coffee. Quiet neighborhood. We will return!

Beautiful View, Amazing Location!

  • 5 of 5

The Cottage at Lake Champlain was perfect for us to celebrate our one year anniversary. Walking distance to Church Street and all the amazing restaurants and just a short drive away from many breweries and wineries. The Cottage is equipped with everything you need during your stay, even a small kitchen with a fridge to stock up on your snacks and beverages. Maggie provided us with coffee and some delicious fruits & yogurts to start our stay. She was very knowledgeable about the area and we appreciated her recommendations. The view from the cottage is stunning and the bike bath was great for our daily runs. You won't be disappointed staying at Maggie's cottage!

everything one might need was tastefully included in Carpe Diem, a tiny house overlooking Lake Champlain. The views from the back yard were spectacular, and the location was walking distance to downtown and the waterfront. Thank you, Maggie, for the warm welcome and attention.

The cottage was quaint and perfect for a relaxing getaway.

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I were looking for a small vacation where we could relax but still do a bit of exploring, and we found just that. The cottage was simple, cozy, and fulfilled all of our needs. Makings for breakfasts, with fruit, yogurt, milk, and local granola, was provided. There was a small fridge, a four burner stove with an oven, and a selection of basic kitchen equipment. The cottage also had compost and recycling bins. And the view from the back door over the lake was breathtaking! We were able to watch the New Years Eve fireworks right from the backyard.

In addition, it was only a mile to downtown, which was just fine to walk because we didn't have a car (but I think there is also a bus), where there are plenty of restaurants and shops to choose from. The waterfront was also only a few minute walk away.

Overall, we had a wonderful experience. Maggie was a great host and we would love to return again sometime in the future.

We had a wonderful time staying at Maggie's cottage. The view of the lake is simply stunning and the garden surrounding the cottage is dreamy. The cottage is cozy and relaxing and very quiet. We had everything we needed and Maggie was a welcoming and kind host who knew just how to make our stay special. We happily recommend it!!!
