Comfortable, quaint, and cute are words often used to describe this tropical A-frame located on the Mississippi Sound. A wrap around deck shaded by palm trees leads down to the water and the 36' fishing pier. Fish or crab from the pier, or boardwalk, soak up rays on the deck, or watch the tug and barge traffic pass by on the Inter-coastal Waterway. 10 minute walk to the beach. WiFi provided.

Queen bed in the downstairs master, 2 full beds in one bedroom and a daybed with a 'pop-up' trundle in the other upstairs bedroom sleep 8 people comfortably.

Full bath downstairs across from the Master Bedroom with double vanity. Full size washer and dryer in the bathroom area.

The fully stocked kitchen is complete with everything you need to prepare a full course meal for your family and is open to the living area with views of the pier and Mississippi Sound. The breakfast bar will seat 2 or 3 and allow you to supervise the kitchen action. The Living and Dining area with 25' vaulted ceilings, has great water views, a flat screen TV with Dish Network service, comfortable leather furniture, and a tasteful Nautical Decor.

Head upstairs via a Heart Pine staircase with a brushed aluminum stair rail to 2 bedrooms and a full bath.

Why Loni chose Dauphin Island

'Captains Quarters' was purchased as my primary residence in 2001 and was not rented out until recently. I settled on Dauphin Island because it is the most 'laid back', relaxing place I have ever found. The fishing is fantastic, the beaches are beautiful, and the Sunsets are phenomenal!

What makes this chalet unique

Sunsets, sunsets, sunsets!!! Fishing and crabbing off the 36' pier. Swimming or shelling a 10 minute walk on the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. Scooter or jet ski rentals minutes away. Bike trails, best birding in the Southeast, Audubon Park, historic Fort Gains, Dauphin Island Sea Lab and Estuarium. The best offshore Red Snapper and sports fishing in the Gulf and inshore speckled trout, white trout, flounder, crabbing and red fishing on the private pier. Mobile Bay Ferry available for day trips to Fort Morgan or Gulf Shores. The casinos of Biloxi are 1 hour away and New Orleans a short 2.5 hours away.

Great Get Away

Wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. One of the best vacations I've had. The house was awesome, the fishing was great, and the neighbors were quiet. What a great combination. Loni was very nice to deal with. And very patient with my questions. You can't go wrong here.

Best View Ever!!

We stayed here over July 4th and had the best time. This was our second trip to the island and we are already planning next years trip. The house was spotless and had everything we needed for our week stay. Loni was great to communicate with and answered any questions I had. The view here is AMAZING!! Our boys enjoyed fishing off the pier and I enjoyed early morning quiet time outside listening to the waves. This house will be one we rent again!!

Perfect Getaway

Much larger inside than it appears and plenty of room for a family and very comfortable.

The westerly facing decks and dock allow for beautiful sunsets over water and great fishing and crabbing opportunities. The beach is a short walk and has a private feel due to the lack of large hotels on the island. The island is quiet and family oriented.

The only reason I gave this place 4 stars is that it was not fully stocked. From towels to kitchen disposables (dishwasher detergent, trash bags, etc) there is room for improvement. Make sure to bring what you need as the lone 'grocery' store on the island is over priced.

Still a great place and great location for a relaxing escape or a family beach vacation.

Great sunsets!

This is a great house with the best sunsets!

only issue, there is no where to have shade or get out of the rain outside. We brought our own ez-up to put it on the pier.

Captain Snappers restaurant at the Marina was awesome, they have fresh seafood! the best!

Great!

Our experience renting the Captain's Quarters was, in a word, GREAT from start to finish. Working with Loni to make the reservations was simple and pleasant. She made everything easy and was always quickly available if I had a question. The cottage itself was very clean and comfortable and the views of the water had us sitting outside at every opportunity. We had everything that we needed to cook the several meals that we prepared and we slept wonderfully on the oh so comfortable bed in the master bedroom. It was a great overall experience and we will certainly be back. I would recommend this property and these landlords highly.

Fort Gaines (Civil War Fort) on the East End holds tours daily and reenactments several times a year. Protected the entrance to Mobile Bay with sister Fort , Fort Morgan on the eastern shore of Mobile Bay.

Ferry ride to Fort Morgan , Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, or outlet shopping in Foley, AL.

1.5 hour ride to Casinos in Biloxi and 2.5 hours to New Orleans.
