Amazing New Years in the Snow at the Aspen Lake House
We celebrated the New Year at Aspen Lake House, and it was a phenomenal experience. Nestled in a secluded location, the house perfectly balanced privacy and convenience (an hour and a half from Colorado Springs). Our dream was to have a cabin in the woods where the kids could step outside and play in the snow, and Aspen Lake House delivered precisely that. We were greeted by freshly fallen snow that adorned the landscape throughout our stay, creating a picturesque setting for sledding and snow play. The house was great, boasting a well-equipped kitchen catering to all our culinary needs. Its two master bedrooms were particularly beneficial, offering ample space and comfort for our family and friends to share the dwelling without compromising privacy. The decks were a highlight, offering stunning, awe-inspiring views. However, the decks would really benefit from a built-in heater or a gas fire pit to allow winter guests to enjoy the majestic outdoor scenery even in the chilly winter months. We enjoyed our stay at the Aspen Lake House and would love to come back again in the summer or winter.

My favorite Colorado experience.since I was a child!
Views of Pikes Peak (you can see lights at night) and Cheyenne Mountain. A fantastic home with huge kitchen and massive main level covered deck which probably has more square feet than my house. Excellent fishing at the reservoir just down the road. We also saw a Bald Eagle, Coopers Hawk, Rufous Hummingbird and Stellars Jay. I also saw Big Horn Sheep on my way out. Perfect, Beautiful and Relaxing!..

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with this place when we saw the beautiful house tucked away in a valley with over 40 acres of aspen, blue spruce and open meadows. We enjoy the majestic views of the mountains, the serenity of overlooking Skaguay Reservoir and hiking in one of the prettiest valleys along Beaver Creek. The many custom features of the house were another attraction from the gourmet kitchen, to the spacious living areas, the huge windows, and wide wrap around deck for relaxing outdoors.

What makes this property unique

The large wrap around deck affords expansive views of the mountains and lake. At 9,100’ elevation the house is wonderfully comfortable with gentle breezes and low humidity. The house is situated among the aspens with no other houses in view from the front deck which gives the place of sense of calm and serene seclusion. In the mood for a peaceful and quiet place to stay? Then this is the setting. Within walking distance of the house is Skaguay Reservoir and Beaver Creek, which are excellent for fly fishing for trout. There is canoeing and boating on Skaguay Reservoir and hiking, backpacking and camping in one of the prettiest valleys along Beaver Creek. Nearby are lots of activities from gold mine tours, hiking and mountain biking at Mueller State Park (over 5,000 acres of parkland) and horseback riding, exploring scenic byways and historic gold mine towns, white water rafting the Arkansas River, antiquing, shopping and more. The property is only about an hour and fifteen minutes southwest of Colorado Springs.
