My family has lived in Vermont for 8 generations and a relative visited this house 30 years ago when it was a B&B. I looked for a Vermont house for a few years and was fortunate to find this 18th century gem. The house has an interesting history and lots of character. The grounds are lovely and I love the view of Mt. Equinox. I hope you enjoy my home as much as I do.
Great view of Mt. Equinox
Exposed antique wood beams
House has great flow with neat taproom
Private, wooded backyard with large barn
Close to Manchester, Arlington and skiing
We had a amazing time staying at this property. Everything was just as pictures displayed. But I think it was better than the pictures. We were a party of 10, going to a wedding at equinox, and were thrilled with our house. All of the wedding party stopping over, we re amazed and loved how the house laid out. Would recommend to anyone who wants a very clean, nice bedding, updated bathrooms, good kitchen, laundry, and a fun environment.
Just booked our third visit to this wonderful house; this has become the favorite spot for our five families fall reunion in New England, with people coming from Boston, New York, New Jersey, and Canada.
Perfect spot - the fall is gorgeous; near the city of Manchester you can find anything from hiking trails and Bromley Mountain Adventure park for kids (and adults) to great restaurants and shopping in Manchester, including famous Orvis fly fishing center.
Then house itself is spacious and perfect for large groups with its seven bedrooms and three large gathering rooms; house was warm and clean every time we stayed; large kitchen accommodates several people cooking at the same time.
Needed a central location for a family reunion with siblings spread all over New England. The home was just right to accommodate our various needs. Lots of rustic charm, plenty of space, and a very responsive host. Downstairs bedroom was great for parents challenged by stairs. Lots of common spaces, but we still could not seem to get people out of the kitchen. If you are in search of shiny new, ultra modern, you should probably keep looking. This place is warm and inviting, but there is no denying the home's age, and the associated quirks. For our family this was part of the charm. Thanks for a wonderful week.
There was plenty of room for our extended family during our long weekend stay. Big living room to spend time together, but plenty of smaller areas for private time. Very convenient location and nice and quiet.
This historical house was just perfect for our two families! Three living areas, large dinning room n kitchen! Comfy beds and no waiting with 4 batrooms! It met all our needs for our winter ski trip! Plenty of outdoor space for the kids to run and explore! Owner was very accommodating and helpful!
My husband and I first stayed at this lovely old farmhouse during a romantic weekend getaway of “leaf peeping” back in October. We had never been to Vermont before, and weren’t quite sure what to expect. This house, and its location did not disappoint! The views of Mt. Equinox and surrounding foliage from the front porch were breathtaking, and truly looked like a postcard. The town of Manchester was just a short drive away and was so picturesque and quaint, filled with plenty of restaurants and shopping boutiques, as well as a general store that provided staples for cooking ‘at home’ in the big, yet cozy kitchen, as well as firewood for the 3 (count ‘em – three!) woodburning fireplaces in the house. Our favorite was the big antique stone fireplace in the back room. We spent many a night having drinks by the fire before retiring to the comfy, gorgeous hand-carved bed in the back ‘in-law’ suite. We had such a wonderful time that we decided to return for a family ski trip this winter. Once again, the house suited our needs perfectly. Plenty of room for the entire family and close to both Bromley and Stratton. We couldn’t have asked for more. We will definitely be back!
