About Suzanne & John

My husband John and I are disabled veterans. We have been happily married for 30 years. We love traveling. Keyhouse Villa is our favorite spot in the world! We have been landlords for over 20 years. It is important to us to have your stay memorable! We do our best to meet or exceed your expectations! We take pride in ownership!

Suzanne & John purchased this villa in 2006

Why Suzanne & John chose Dieppe Bay Town

We chose this property to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life! Dieppe Bay is a quaint fishing village with the most wonderful people! Enjoy this tranquil beach front Villa. Listen to the waves that sound like rain fall as the Atlantic swells hit the coral reef just off the deck! Enjoy the beautiful sunrise and sunsets from the deck!

What makes this villa unique

Our property is unique in that we have the benefits of the Atlantic Ocean to our right as well as the Caribbean Sea to our left! Our deck has the vantage point of canterlevering over the ocean where you can cast the fishing pole we have supplied and catch some Mahi-Mahi, Red Snapper or Gar. The local fisherman can help with that if you don't catch anything! Maybe some fresh Rock Lobster sounds good! They're right there in the reef!

The dormant volcano is directly behind us and is a great days hike into the rain forest!

We overlook the live reef with waves crashing over them in many different directions just a short short swim off our deck! There are 4 sets of snorkel gear , 3 boogie board and a fishing pole , walking sticks to hike the volcano, 2 portable beach sand chairs, 2 lounge chairs, 2 beach blankets, and a cooler for your use while staying with us!

We have been in American Way, American Airlines magazine, Vogue and Town and Country Magazines! Enjoy our little slice of paradise!

We have plantation shutter doors. The kitchen and dining are open air. Just doing dishes while looking at the reef feels luxurious! We supply containers and refrigerator for your food items.

The bedroom is Air Conditioned for your comfort although the temperature on St Kitts doesn't fluctuate too much, 80s to low 90s year round with an average of 84.

Amazing hidden gem away from it all!

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from a week at the KeyHouse and so wish we were still there!

We read all the reviews before booking and would say they are very accurate to describe this place. If you like to be away from the crowds and prefer the non-tourist parts of the island, this place will not disappoint!

Chef was a perfect host. He made us feel at home and checked in on us each day. He cooked us a meal which we all loved - including our teenagers - and took us for a hike on the mountain. It was great to hear more about the village and island. Our stay was so quiet and peaceful, we hardly saw or heard any other humans. Literally on the ocean, we loved listening to the crashing waves, watching all the amazing rainbows, gazing at the stars at night, sunning on the deck, and jumping in the pool when we were too hot - all without ever leaving our place! This is a very unique and amazing place.

Suzanne was very prompt and wonderful at answering all our questions when booking and traveling.

The tourism, larger grocery stores, and beaches are on the opposite side of the island. We rented a car so we could get around easily. We went to the southern beaches 2 different days - Cockleshell Beach is beautiful and Brimestone Fortress is worth a visit! - but we always enjoyed returning to our quiet hidden gem.

Chef really enjoyed showing you all around and cooking for you! The island has a lot to offer and we love being able to have our guests learn and explore the history and natural beauty of the island. We look forward to your return!

Comfortable, cozy villa with the most amazing views from the living room, kitchen, and wonderful deck. It was a serene relaxing get away in a non resort quiet village. We loved Chef, he cooked an amazing meal for us and was there for anything we needed.

Hidden Gem in the Country

  • 4 of 5

We loved our stay at Key House!

It was wonderful to experience the quiet side of St. Kitts and to relax on the deck watching and listening to the ocean waves and the sunsets.

Chef was a terrific host. He not only took care of any of our vacation rental needs but also cooked a delicious meal for us and was a great tour guide, teaching us about the island culture, taking us on hikes, and teaching my husband how to navigate around the island in our rental car!

Thank you for a memorable anniversary vacation!

Disappointed in our stay

  • 1 of 5

When we decided to book our stay at Lemon Ct, we were all excited. There were 4 of us and it sounded and looked like it was going to be a wonderful trip. It turned out to be the trip from Hell. We did not know that this place is 35 miles from town on the most dangerous roads imaginable. They are all SSS's on a very narrow 2 lane dilapidated road. We had rented a car with the wheel on the right hand side of the car and you drove on the left side of the road. No one told us any of this. By the time you go from the house to town, we were all nervous wrecks. There are very few street signs and double turnarounds at various areas. We were constantly getting lost. You could not stay in town and enjoy any of the bars or restaurants because you would not want to drive those streets in the dark (no street lights).

We had a blow out going around a curve and almost ended up down a cliff. It was late and the clouds were coming in. We thought we were all going to have a nervous breakdown. We still had about 1/2 hr drive ahead of us and it was starting to get dark. The car had fallen on the jack and there wasn't any way to get it. By the grace of God a very nice man stopped to help us. He knew exactly what to do. Every night we were held hostage in the house because we could not go anywhere.

Susan, the owner, did not tell us any of this. Her house is very nice but it would have been nice to know all of the above. The man who helps her is named Cheff. He is a very nice man but we will never go back. It would be a great place if you did not want to do anything but stay there and never go out to actually see St. Kitts. If you are a daredevil, then maybe the roads would not bother you. Believe me, we are not older than dirt but the road travel was to much to handle. We left 4 days early because we couldn't stand it any longer. Just the thought of driving anywhere was always making us very nervous.

We learned a lot of lessons on this trip. One of them is always ask how far away from town is the property. Ask about the roads. Make informative decisions. We were not informed properly. Also the pool was not cleaned. We did not use it.

Owner's Response: Dear Martin! I'm sorry you found driving on the opposite side of the road so difficult! It's sounds like the driving is what ruined your vacation! When I had met you and Rosalie in downtown Basseterre St Kitts last winter, while you were on the cruise ship, you must have seen the fact that everyone drove on the opposite side of the road! Being unfamiliar with this can be a challenge! I personally find it stimulating, and even easier than driving in the States! What I would recommend to anyone driving here is to make sure as you pull out of any spot, to make sure the driver is always in the center of the road! Then you'll know you are driving on the proper side of the road. I wish you would have let us know you were nervous about driving as we would have had a local taxi or bus bring you around our wonderful island Thank you for mentioning that we are about 30 to 35 minutes to town. We are 14 miles from downtown going the Caribbean side and only 11 miles driving the Atlantic side. It is a 2 lane road where the Caribbean side has street lights most of the way and the Atlantic side has lights speradically. We do state in this website that we are located in the Northern part of St Kitts in a quaint fishing village. We do our best to inform all our guests about our location! The guests that come here want this type of privacy and enjoy the cultural diversity! We are happy you found our Villa to be nice, as we take pride in everything we do for our guests! Chef and Cina both love making our guests comfortable! Our swimming pool is a saltwater pool. The chemicals are checked weekly by Marvin. Marvin maintains all the swimming pools at the Marriott! We are confident our pool is safe and clean. We occasionally get high winds that will kick up the black sand that will settle to the bottom. We hope your family member is doing ok! That's what you told me the reason why you left early and asked for a refund?? We hope to see you back again some day! Sending prayers for your family!

Great little villa on the ocean

  • 4 of 5

Cozy, comfortable and well appointed villa, right on the ocean and within a few meters of a nice beach, a very nice scuba diving spot and a lovely beach bar serving good food. Very much enjoyed our stay. Cheff (the local caretaker/cook) prepared a couple of very tasty meals for us and provided appreciated assistance. Would only recommend that it be made clearer that the pool for the villa is shared with the villa next door, which did not affect us as that villa was empty during our stay.

Owner's Response: We want to thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review! Your discription of our location to the beach is great! Our Great Barrier Reef off our deck is wonderful to scuba or snorkel in! I can't wait to head back down in May and enjoy the foods from Arthur's beach bar and the yummy gastronomes that Cheff prepares! We are happy you mentioned the shared pool as well! Our neighbors property hasn't been occupied as much as our property! HomeAway/VRBO only gives us a check box to disscribe the pool as a community pool or private pool. Then they only have a spot for us to click on so you can expand it it for a discription Dieppe Bay is such a quiet, laid back community! We are so lucky to have found this little slice of heaven! Once again, Thank you for staying at KeyHouse! We would love to see you for a return visit!
