Great Base for a Wine Weekend

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed the International House (IH). We came to Charlottesville for a weekend of visiting wineries to sample their offerings. The IH was everything we had hoped it would be. In fact, the pictures on the website did not really do justice to how nice the house was for us. The modernly-designed ground floor is set up very well moving between the kitchen, dining and living rooms. A nice airy layout. We were able to prepare breakfast each morning with the well-appointed kitchen and slept well each night in nice beds in a quiet neighborhood. The house is also located only 2 miles from downtown Charlottesville and we took advantage of this one evening to walk to and from our restaurant downtown. Oh, and the excellent hot showers in each of the baths made for a great wakeup in the morning. The International House helped added to a really nice weekend.

Great house, conveniently located to everything

  • 5 of 5

We had four couples staying here for UVa Reunions and it was perfect. Very nice, clean house, located just minutes from Grounds and minutes from Downtown. Couldn't be happier with our selection. J.R. arrived promptly when we did and was very courteous.

Wonderful guest house

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was tremendously enjoyable in this sunny and beautiful house! Our group stayed over a winter wedding weekend and made the most of the area -- hiking, historical sites, UVA campus, wineries -- and the International House was a cozy place to return to for home-cooked dinners and hot drinks by the fire. The comfortable accommodations left nothing to ask for. J.R. was also tremendously hospitable and responsive before and during our visit -- no small feat for a large-group place like this. We'd definitely return if our paths bring us back by the International House again. Thanks, J.R.!

Great home!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at the International House with several people who were in town for a friend's 30th birthday. We loved the home and its convenient location. J.R., the owner, was great at communicating with me over the internet. It was great to be back in Charlottesville, a place we love so much as UVA alumni, especially with the comforts of such a wonderful home!
