The Sandcastle has six family run cottages set in quiet gardens with views to the sea. They are unique even by Golden Bay standards with many extras provided.
Your cottage is comfortable and fully self-contained. You'll have your own kitchen, bathroom and sheets and towels are provided. The cottage is serviced daily so you will not have to worry about recycling or freshening the towels.
Being family-run we enjoy adding features that are free for you to use. Recently we have added a massage studio to the Spa/sauna facility that is used by an experienced therapist, I recommend paying her a visit to make your stay extra special. Also we have landscaped the bbq area to include a woodfired pizza oven and seating. Set by the stream that runs through the property it is a great place to gather in the evening. Other extras include use of the laundry, freeview tv
Pets welcome, great for children with lots of safe space, good for breaks away
Extras: Cleaning (included); Linen (included);
The property is very basic--a classic kiwi bach. The one-bedroom unit we stayed in had a bunk and full size bed in a bedroom, and a queen in the main living/kitchen area. Steve made us pizza dough and we enjoyed making pizzas in the brick oven outdoors! He couldn't have been a nicer host. Wifi was poor, but he's looking to improve it. Overall, he was a very attentive host and takes pride in creating a nice experience for guests. We enjoyed the yoga studio, beautiful grounds and lovely location!
Little chalet/bach had everything we needed - comfy beds, towels, TV, fridge etc. plus a little deck at the front to eat breakfast/dinner in the sun. Parking so we could come and go but 5-10min walk to the beach and nearby pub/shops. Easy drive to Golden Bay Kayaks where we could explore Abel Tasman.
