|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
WE ARE BOAT ACESS ONLY.
We are sheep farming, feel free to join in.
Although we are only boat access, it is only 45 minutes by boat to Havelock.
We also live on the farm (with our 2 children,) and own our own boat.
We have limited spark cell phone coverage.
The house is alternative power, cooking facilities are gas, and a generator is run twice a day for fridges, freezers, washing machine etc...
Beautiful, modern, framos house, sectioned off, with its own garden, overlooking the sea.
This properties most beautiful asset is its remoteness, due to being only boat access.
We are a 5th generation farming family, with 1700 acres of land for you to explore.
Come and watch the cow being milked every morning, and try some fresh milk!
There is a lot of native bush, home to many native birds.
Do some dolphin spotting from the wharf (they do pass by from time to time, and although not a regular occurrence we had orca swimming in the bay.
Our farm walk does a complete circuit around the property, which is a large peninsular. This track is also suitable for mountain biking (bikes not included).
you can go for a short walk to check out the glow worms.
Access to the most beautiful scenery in the Pelorus , with views stretching from the back of Blenheim to the North Island.
Malboat fares available on Tuesdays and Thursdays (pre booking recommended) $40 per person one way.
You need to book your own water taxi out, we can make recommendations.
The water taxis leave from Havelock, and can be found on the internet.
Smoking allowed outside only.
At times generator hours may change, e.g. if we are shearing.
This doesn't affect cooking, as it is all gas.
Extras: Cleaning (included); Linen (included);
Walking tracks on privately owned land, with native bush and birdlife. Tracks for running and biking
Wow, what a place! Had everything; beautiful scenery, wharf for jumping off, a stunning track around the farm, cod to catch, pet goats for the kids and really friendly hosts. Quote from one of our kids - "this is better than Disneyland." Really felt like you were on an episode of country calendar. Don't let the fact that it is boat access only put you off (for us that added to it). Thanks Kelly and Trevor.
Pelorus retreat was very relaxing and a great place to get away from it all but only a short walk around the bay on a nice bush track for a coffee and/or meal if your that way enclined. The house was great.
Excellent location in the Outer Sounds. Very friendly hosts and wonderful walks around the farm with stunning views.
Fraemoh house is warm and comfortable. Set amidst some native bush with resident wekas and some native birds, not to mention the friendly goats. Plan around the times when the generator powers electricity in the summer time, but this is really not a problem as it is on in the morning and evening.
If you are looking for a total rest and peace and quiet this is the place for you.
