About John Beall

This beach cottage was originally built in 1942, but was rebuilt in 1989! I have made several improvements to make it a great little vacation home. I love to stay there myself when not rented.

I am a local Real Estate Broker and live on the other side of the island with my wife Cindy and two children. I am just a phone call away if you need anything at all during your stay.

John Beall purchased this bungalow in 2014

Great house! Clean, well kept, and as described.

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed the cottage. We were a group of 8 that included a family of 4. Two of the bedrooms are attached so the couple and their two kids took those rooms. The other bedrooms are a queen, and then bunk beds, so the other couples got those. The whole house was very clean, including all the linens and blankets. It seemed nicer than your typical shore house. We grilled out one night and cooked in the kitchen on other nights, and we had everything we needed. 10/10 would stay again.

Large spacious comfortable home

  • 5 of 5

The house was exactly as described and spacious.

As we were there during the Christmas break, John had even taken the trouble to have a decorated Christmas tree put up.

Lovely beach home!

  • 4 of 5

This is a lovely beach home. However needs some updating, especially the smaller bathroom. Very clean and homey. Love the roof top deck and the hot tub! Very quirky home. Thanks John!

Would rent again! Clean with great retro beach cottage vibe, close to beach and city fun!

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here for family wedding, we could relax in the hot tub, or walking on the beach. Food spots like Poes and Home Team bbq easy to reach and Mt. Pleasant right across the bridge. If we had young kids, this would be a great spot to stay for the week. It is an old cottage, so be ready for the character that come with older homes. Plenty of tvs and space for private time and naps. It was just what we needed during the wedding to relax between events.

Amazing!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a family vacation here and we had the best time! John was very nice and the house was amazing! We were lucky to have perfect weather and be able to use all the property has to offer. The pool is big and a great area to hang out. The hot tub is nice and private and you can hear the waves of the ocean from the top deck!! We had such a great week and would definatly want to rent here again. Two of the rooms are connected, but if you don't want to walk thru the one to get to the other, there is a sliding door to the back room so you do not have to walk thru the other room which is nice. The beds and couches were all very comfortable. We had a great stay!!

Great vacation house!! Close to the beach.

  • 4 of 5

The house was great and very charming! The roof deck is an awesome feature we thoroughly enjoyed as well. We didn't mind the short walk to the beach, but a beach cart would have been really handy to tote our things. The kitchen was stocked well and there was an issue when connecting to wi-fi but we didn't mind. Altogether, I would definitely stay here again!! We loved bringing our dog Max too!!

Recreation Dept on 28th Ave has:

Basketball, Volleyball, Massage, Spa, Fitness Center

1. Beaches - first and foremost, Isle of Palms is home to some of America’s Cleanest Beaches. Just minutes by foot from our house. Collect shells, play beach bocci, sunbathe, play in the water and relax as much as you can.

2. Golf - Wild Dunes is home to two of South Carolina’s top golf courses. The 4th hole of the Fazio-designed Links Golf Course passes right near our home and is the more highly rated course. But many homeowners here prefer the Harbor Course, a 5 minute walk from our home, as it seems to be a lot more challenging

3. Tennis - Your Sports card will allow access to the beautiful Wild Dunes clay tennis court facilities, rated number one in many tennis magazines. And the pros put on exhibitions every Monday night with drinks and snacks provided with door prizes. Fun for all the family.

4. Pools - Enjoy pools by the beach front at the Pavilion while eating and enjoying some southern libations. Or perhaps relax with your family at the new pool at Palm Cove also with outdoor bar and dining. And for those wishing to exercise, please visit the recreation center pool for lap swimming.

5. Eating - Between dining in Wild Dunes, or outside the gates on Isle of Palms or making the 20 minute drive to downtown Charleston, you won’t be disappointed by your dining experience. Our food is a big reason why Charleston is frequently voted best vacation destination in the US!

6. Nature adventure/Water fun - rent boats down at the Wild Dunes marina or take a guided tour of the waters to take in all the wild life. Regardless, you’ll have a blast. Or perhaps sign up for parasailing to get a different view of our wonderful island.

7. History - Whether your visiting museums or beautiful old homes in downtown Charleston, plantations like Boone Hall/Middleton Place/ Magnolia or Forts Moultrie/Sumter, you won’t be disappointed. You’ll walk away with significant appreciation of history! And don’t miss the Yorktown Aircraft Carrier on Patriot’s Point.
