Photos and Description of this Belfast holiday house

3 large bedrooms, 2 full baths, Bay view, sectional sofa with big screen TV

Great location on quiet street in charming neighborhood. Sunny, cheerful house with views of bay and an open floor plan, large sectional sofa with big screen TV! Great house for kids and adults alike. 3 blocks from shore, 5 blocks from pool, and 6 blocks from charming downtown Belfast. Free WIFI and Netflix! 2 large BRs upstairs with private full bath. 1 large bedroom downstairs with full bath. Have a cookout on the outdoor gas grill, while the kids play badminton in the yard.

Great for a family, girls get-a-way, or 2 to 3 couples. Three Queen beds and 3 twin beds.

Yard is large enough for a game of frisbee and deck is private from the street. There is 1/2 circle driveway in front for easy unloading and off-street parking, however the house is close enough to shopping and entertainment that no car is needed.

Jack's grocery is 1 block away for small groceries and convenience items.

When the tide is out, walk along the shore to the Belfast Commons and pick up the new pedestrian path to the walking bridge over Belfast Bay for a gorgeous view or follow the Passagassee River for some beautiful bird watching or general sightseeing.

Walk 6 blocks in the other direction to City Park, swim in the outdoor pool and walk the beach with awesome views and dreamy picnic locations. There are also tennis courts, basketball courts, and a baseball field, and a great snack bar!

Portland - 2 hrs.

Acadia - 1.5 hrs

About Liz

I love hiking/biking, spending time with friends and family, love the outdoors and quaint places.

Liz purchased this house in 2013

Why Liz chose MidCoast and Penobscot Bay

Maine is one of the prettiest places on earth, and Belfast is a picture perfect town.

What makes this house unique

This house has the convenience of being a newer property while located in the charm of an older, quiet neighborhood. Harbor St Cottage has the added benefit of quiet and privacy, but with convenient walking distance to downtown, City Park and the Harbor Walk. Enjoy the local festivals and concerts, and then walk back to the cottage for a quiet retreat. 3 blocks from the shore permits a wonderful walk all the way to town at low tide. City park is 4 blocks in the opposite direction for swimming, tennis, basketball, and picnic tables and shelter. The cottage yard is big and mostly flat, so kids can play outside while adults relax on the private deck or the spacious yard. The interior is open, carpeted, sunny and cheerful and has water views. A great house for adults and kids alike! With a large bedroom and full bath on the main level this house can accompany 3 generations comfortably, or 3 couples with children, or any group of 9 adults. Great for families, girls getaways, or couples. There is much to do within walking distance. and Jack's Grocery is ONE block distance from the cottage - very convenient for a quick dash when you forgot that ONE thing at the store, or for a quick sandwich or slice of pizza! Walk to bike rental store and bike the Passy Rail Trail!

Guestbook comments from the owner

The house was exactly as she described. It was clean and lovely, cozy and safe...and right near the downtown, that we could walk there! Liz was super sweet and responsive when we had questions. We had a great time in Belfast, and would definitely stay with Liz again! ”

Charming and spacious cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful three weeks at this charming, open-space cottage. Upstairs bedrooms were very spacious and perfect for family. The house is very nicely decorated, we especially enjoyed the artwork featuring Belfast. Since we stayed three weeks the new LG washing machine and dryer were greatly appreciated. We would definitely make this our "summer home" again.

Quiet Belfast neighborhood!

  • 5 of 5

This was a really nice house in quiet Belfast neighborhood. Was here for family reunion with other families at larger homes all week, day tripping each day so we didn't spend a lot of time at the house. House was very clean and well maintained,, all the essentials were there, and beds were comfy. We live in a cluttered 1800's home and were looking for something modern and spacious - which this is. We loved the light and airy colors and peaceful, minimalist décor. Liz provided a very helpful notebook of maps, things to do, and area info. The property manager came by first day to make sure we had enough propane for the gas grill. We did hit one of those rare hot & humid weeks and it would have been nice, even though fans were provided, if all the bedroom windows had screens so they could open for cross ventilation.

All in all, I would definitely recommend to others looking for a quiet escape - Belfast is a great summer town with all the things you want without all the traffic or too many tourists. And best bakery that you can't find... Moonbat City Bakery... open Thurs-Sun 7a-1p... on Main Street 2 blocks up the hill from the traffic light... there were a lot of people wandering around downtown Sun morning looking for an open coffee shop!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the nice comments about the cottage and also the charming town. Belfast is a great vacation place! For the information of future guests, the large windows in each bedroom do have screens, but we'll get those smaller windows screened as well!! Thanks again!!

Spacious Home with a Cottage Feel

  • 5 of 5

Our three week stay in the Harbor Street Cottage exceeded all of our expectations. This well maintained house is full of light and sea breeze, and it's open floor plan and large rooms were wonderful to come home to after full days of

exploring this charming seaside town. The beautiful and traditional neighborhood with easy access to the shoreline were great bonuses. The owner lives locally and quickly answered my text inquiries.

Our Stay in your Belfast house

  • 4 of 5

The location and the house were perfect for six of us. Four adults and two children. It was also good as we had a number of family members who lived near buy and we could have all for cook outs and the house and the yard could accommodate all of us.

I feel a little more attention to detail needs to take place. Old smoke alarms had been replaced with new alarms and the open wires from the old alarms were still sticking from the walls. The barbque had an empty gas container. Curtains in the bedrooms were put up with very small nails into the drywall that came loose when they were opened or shut. The sheets on the downstairs were ripped and it had no bed pad. They towels downstairs were very worn.

With that said we would definitely rent you house again. I know that you do not live close so I feel that you need to have your people who take care of the home do a better job.

Owner's Response: I am glad you enjoyed your stay and were able to make use of the large yard and outdoor tables and seating. New sheets and towels have been added, and the missing bed pad was a simple oversight. FYI, the smoke alarm wires near the ceiling level are all capped and pose no danger. I apologize for any inconvenience, but a quick call could have resulted in replace/repair any items on the spot. Thank you again. Liz

This is a wonderful place to spend time with your family.

We were very pleased with the house. It is clean and well cared for. The beds are comfortable and the views are nice. The house is located in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood just 6 blocks from charming downtown Belfast. We walked to and from dinner every night. It was lovely. We would love to go back again.

great location great house

  • 5 of 5

We arrived on the night of the first snow storm in Belfast but the location of this home allowed us to still enjoy all Belfast had to offer. Easy walking distance to downtown and the restaurants. Home itself was very warm and comfortable. It was just 2 of us so we stayed on the first floor but for larger families there were 2 large bedrooms upstairs. I would never hesitate in recommending this home to anyone who was visiting Belfast.
