Welcome to our sunny one bedroom plus den, located near the infamous Gowanus canal. Only steps away from the trendy Smith Street, the F train is 3 blocks away and a 20 minute subway ride to midtown Manhattan. The apartment is on the parlor floor, with high ceilings, only one step! Perfect for 2 - 4 persons. Comfortable Queen bed and 2 singles. Enjoy the shared back yard, the Brooklyn way which means getting there down the fire escape ladder a few feet. The apartment is clean and uncluttered perfect for your stay.
For another larger rental option in the neighborhood, and the heart of Carroll Gardens
Caroline Lee Skaife purchased this apartment in 1999
It's the best neighborhood. A beautiful walk to the subway, restaurants, Carroll Park, locally owned shops and speciality food stores.
Wonderful hosts, beautiful neighborhood, spacious and gorgeous apartment. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!
Caroline accommodated us last minute after our Air BnB host turned out to be a crazy person and our rental there fell through. We wound up with an even better place to stay for a fair price. The neighborhood is excellent. Would absolutely book again.
Our reservation through another company was canceled less than a week before my 1-year-old daughter and I were scheduled to arrive in NY. Caroline accommodated the last-minute reservation, and she was very helpful by letting us check in early (following a red-eye flight) and coordinating bag pick up after checking out. The flat is simple and comfortable. I will bookmark this place for a future stay.
The apartment is darling - clean, quiet and comfortable. Such a welcoming place to come "home" to! This is a spotless spacious apartment in the perfect location. We loved being here!
This is a lovely apartment, spacious, clean, quiet, and comfortable with everything you need. It feels so good inside, and the garden views in back are delightful.
The neighborhood is amazing, too. Very friendly. Families, kids, bikes, and dogs everywhere. Parks, shops and restaurants. I would love to live here!
This is also a wonderful base for being tourists in NYC - between Uber, busses, and subways, we easily traveled everywhere from here.
Here's a suggestion: take the bus down Court Street to Ikea's waterfront store. They run a ferry from there to Manhattan that's free on weekends (and only about $5 per person during the week). We had breakfast in Ikea's cafe, took the ferry over to the City, and then walked the Brooklyn Bridge to get back here. Really fun.
The bedroom and living room are great, spacious, comfortable. The bathroom is an utter nightmare: cracked tiles, termite rot, mildew, groce shower curtain, the works...don't stay here if bath and shower are how you relax after a long day - it really bummed me out! Other than that, I really appreciated the Queen Bed room and the two comfortable beds worked great for my kids. The kitchen is fine except absolutely no counter space (pretty cumbersome to make a full meal) and chipped/dull knives.
Infamous Brownstone Brooklyn. Family life at it's best.
