We are a hunting, fishing, jet skiing, and boating family we love spending time at the lake house with family and friends.
Owner purchased this House in 2000
Why Owner chose Lewellen
The house is within 3-1/2 hours of Denver. There are activities for everyone to enjoy - from swimming, relaxing on the beach, hunting and fishing to antiquing and bird watching.
What makes this House unique
The house is very comfortable, whether it is just the two of us or the entire family. There are lots of areas, inside and out, for gathering together or spending time alone.
I was quite happy with the home and view of the lake
On the positive side, the cabin was very comfortable, clean, and I loved the location. I enjoyed sitting on the deck and looking at the lake and the birds. The Weber grill was great!
On the negative side, the sleeping accommodations are really for 4 adults and however many kids you want. We had two adults with a baby, one adult, and another adult with a baby. My daughter checked out the fold out couch in the basement and said there were marks on the mattress and couldn't find the bedding. So, we ended up sleeping together on the king.
In the kitchen, I would make sure oils, like PAM and Crisco are fresh, as they were not.
The neighbor sends his dog over to do his business on our yard, which I am sure you are aware of.
I have to review the charges.. what I thought was going to be 600 was 900 and I am not sure why at this point.
However, there is a good chance you will see us again next year. I hope you found everything in order as well.
We'll be back! Very Enjoyable!
We love this lake front home. Just a few steps from the water, which is sometimes at low levels but that doesn't hinder lake front campfires, And we even managed to get the neighbors paddle boat in. My family has enjoyed a four day stay here twice and have rebooked it again in 2019. The open dining, living room, kitchen, deck floor plan is perfect for us. We currently have three couples, a single, and a 5 year old. With the pullouts in the basement it worked just fine. Boating is 15-20 min down the road and very easy to do. Renee is easy to work with and the owners are flexible and helpful. Until our family grows out of it, we will be back!
I can see how this place could be a wonderful stay. The neighbor was friendly, and the open floor plan upstairs was nice. However, the place was unbelievably dirty. Truly dust everywhere, hair in the shower, filthy floors, food in all the couches, and spider webs and dead bugs in corners. It almost felt like they had just opened the house up after a long winter without freshening it up. We were a little perplexed. I had also asked if there was a boat dock (we planned to rent a boat two days). We were told yes. However, the lake was receeded so much and obviously had been for a couple of years. It was a marsh with no mass to bring a boat into that cove. VRBO site also says the house sleeps 8, which only works if two sleep on the sofa.
Beautiful Lake Home
We very much enjoyed our stay. The home was very welcoming, clean, and spacious with great views. Thank you for allowing us to vacation in your home at Lake Mac! We are already starting to plan our trip for next year.
Went well clean and inviting
Even though they had to move us to another property it went well we’re wonderful to work with
Clean with a beautiful view
The house was clean and the view was wonderful. We gave it four stars because we didn't realize that the beds were full sized and the window coverings in the bedroom were horrible. When we stayed the weather was cold and rainy. We wish we could have used the fireplace but there weren't any instructions on how to light it. Otherwise, our stay was very nice with plenty of room and the area was quiet.
