River's Bend Cabin, in the heart of the White Mountains, is the perfect vacation destination for any season. Our newly renovated, cozy log cabin is situated on a secluded, 2+ acre wooded lot, with a spectacular view of the Ammonoosuc River, a private stair down to the water, and a firepit ready for your family's enjoyment. At the midway point between Franconia Notch and Crawford Notch, just outside the border of the White Mountain National Forest, the Cabin is minutes from the best skiing, boarding, hiking, biking, and outdoor activities the region has to offer. Access to swimming , fishing, river tubing, and gold panning is just outside the door, and the Twin Mountain Connector Snowmobile trail is at the end of the driveway. A short scenic drive in any direction will bring you to other favorite area activities from shopping or antiquing to a ride on the Cog or Conway Scenic Railway. We are an easy drive from Storyland & Santa's Village. A visit to the historic Mt. Washington Hotel for dinner or a drink is a must for history buffs and spa enthusiasts alike!
The open floor-plan, rustic, Cabin features all new furniture, a newly renovated 4 season porch with fabulous river views, and a 3 season porch for all of your gear. A basement family room was completed in Summer 2014. There is plenty of space to spread out and relax during your stay, whether you want to sit in front of the woodstove in the living room, enjoy the view from the porch, listen to the sound of the river by the fire pit, or read in the hammock. Each bedroom and the loft have been thoughtfully furnished and sleeps 10 comfortably. The kitchen is fully equipped, the grill is always ready, so come and enjoy any season at our White Mountain getaway!
Loved the cottage. My wife said it's the best place we ever stayed. Maggie was great too; very helpful. Our ONLY "nit" is that there was nary a bar of soap to be found and only 1 box of Kleenex. Had to go out and buy soap.
We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin had a very new and clean feel with all the amenities needed. The 4 season porch was really a highlight with amazing views of the river. Very relaxing location and not too far a drive from Story Land and Clark's Trading Post. Would stay here again.
Extremely impressed. We've got a busy hectic lifestyle. Our large family was looking for a place to kick back and relax together in one place without lots of haste and logistical prep that goes into camping etc. We like to drop a line in the water, enjoy a camp fire, Hick and have a nice place for homemade dinner and game nights without swatting mosquitoes, as well as a good night sleep in a comfy bed that doesn't make us long for home. This place delivered on all criteria. Clean. Well resourced with amenities. Even a coffee grinder for a hearty morning brew. All this and more, wrapped in a spacious log cabin. What a peaceful view overlooking the river! We hated to leave. Would have stayed another week and all of us called in sick to work, if it wasn't already rented out for the next week. Can't wait to go back!
This was the second year that we have stayed at this particular cabin. We loved it so much last year that we reserved early for this year. The cabin was very clean and had everything you could possibly need. So many rooms and the room downstairs came in handy as it has been a hot summer. It was nice and cool. The view of the river was great and we had a couple of nice fires at nite. I love the large driveway as we had brought our atv and trailer along for a ride over in Jericho Park. We had wildlife in the yard just about every day. Jack rabbits, a doe and fawn, geese, ducks, ospreys and a hawk. There are so many places to fish close by. We had great luck with catching fish! The cabin is also close by to our favorite places. We will back for sure!
Ten ladies in their late twenties comfortably enjoyed this beautiful house for a weekend. It was exactly what we wanted and expected. We were able to cook all our food in the well-stocked kitchen, had plenty of space, a wonderful view, and were close to plenty of hiking options. The owner is also very responsive and helpful.
The view out the back of the river is fantastic, the photos don't do it justice!
Would stay again.
Fantastic property for my family during our stay over 4th of July weekend. The house very comfortably slept 6 adults and two small children. Wonderful 4-season sun room for watching mornings and sunsets over the river. Property has a large amount of grass which was perfect for our toddler to run around. Very convenient location to many of the hikes in the White Mountains.
