About this property

Historical school house w fenced deck and yard for pups,ac,w/d fire pit too!

This was one of the first school houses up the creek in New Castle, and the only one of 4 preserved. It is comfy and has a nice deck for a fantastic view up the Porter Ranch to the sunlight ski resort. It has family style sleeping upstairs and a futon down.

We welcome you and your pets to our first rental on the Ranch, and have listed another rental called the elk experience for rent on vrbo as well!! 492452
We offer a fantastic kitchen for the chef in you and please text Mary if you are wanting for any kitchen items... We are centrally located to a plethora of activities, flop at the Cabin and get away from it all! X country ski on the ranch in the winter, or soak in the famous Glenwood Hot springs or the newer Iron Mountain pools, climb in Rifle, hunt in Section 42, go to the play, ski Sunlight, Vail or Aspen, all are close! Grab some board higames, relax in the glider. Life is good. We welcome you with open arms to our world. It is unique and simple, and you will love it.

Keywords: Chef's kitchen, great views, air conditioning up and down, washer and dryer, on a private ranch just minutes from glenwood springs, elk bugle next to the window, peace on the front porch, sleeps open family style upstairs..

Mini vacation
Unique and special property. Loved watching the goats and having horses for neighbors. We had everything we needed and it was warm and cozy. Far enough away but close enough to hiking, dining and activities. Property owner was very responsive, friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again!

Glenwood escape
We really enjoyed this much needed getaway. The property is just far enough off the beaten path to where you feel like you’re by yourself. Disconnected from society. The owner, Mary P. was very friendly and did come out to meet us, which I enjoyed. Would definitely recommend this place.

About the host

Hosted by Terry and Mary

Host profile image
Terry was born to the ranch and this life. He and I run this Ranch as a couple, and make a good team with our foundation bitch Rosie's kids having kids.. Taz threw a nice pup, and I call him Fyn. Hoping for more next time out of this champion... and Panther thrilled me, of course, and had 3 blacks and a red lakie! The giants are slowing down, as we are.without spring chores and ditches and tractor maintenance and all and the rest of the critters, without them we would be pretty boring... See you up here...

Why they chose this property

our cabin is historical and special. A glimpse of real ranch life is fascinating to others, we have found. Please relax and unwind up here, we welcome you. we have put in hughes net, so those of you who need to work, can..... sorry..

What makes this property unique

We are so close to the hot springs, or our local's hot pots, as we call them, and really love the privacy and the solitude that we can offer to the world. we are minutes away from world class rock climbing as well, and have had climbers as far away as germany stay here for weeks. Please let us show you the elk pen cabin as well as this one, and NOW we are going underground! whooo a dull moment here! Also just found another school house, the mead school house... will be moving her up here as well!!
